We have another new Prime benefit! This is not as big as the Sunday announcement that Prime members get free standard shipping at Woot (for most items), but if you have the Amazon Prime Chase VISA credit card and shop at Whole Foods (and pay for the order with said credit card), you will now earn 5% rewards. Non-Prime members with the Amazon Chase VISA credit card will earn 3%, the same percentage they earn on regular Amazon purchases. Via Amazon Press Release.

PS: while the 5% cashback on Amazon.com purchases is earned with both the Amazon Chase Prime VISA and the Amazon Prime Store credit card, the 5% at Whole Foods is only earned with the Amazon Chase Prime VISA, presumably because Whole Foods is not set up to take the Store credit card (and the card may not be set up for retail use to begin with; it’s not a physical credit card to begin with).

This is a HOT deal IF:

1. you are a Prime member
2. you have either the Prime Chase VISA credit card or the Prime Store Credit card
3. you want to pay for your whole eligible purchase with either one of these credit cards
4. you want to buy one of the items eligible for this promotion

You only get 20% back on the amount paid with the credit card, so if you have gift cards and such, you may want to uncheck them in the shopping cart because you won’t get 20% back on the portion of the purchase paid with a gift card or any other payment method.

There is no coupon code to enter. The offer happens automatically in the back end while this promotion is running.

Using the above as an example, you pay $376.99 at checkout. When your credit card statement closes, you will get a 20% statement credit (instead of the usual 5% statement credit). In this case, you will have a $75~ statement credit in your credit card account.

And the offers keep on coming! If you are a Prime member, AND you have either the Amazon Chase Prime VISA credit card, or the Prime Store credit card, AND you purchase eligible products participating in the promotion you will receive a whopping 20% back as a statement credit on your credit card. You get the usual 5% plus a 15% bonus cashback, making it 20% total. The six eligible categories include Electronics, but it’s only a subset of all products that are eligible. This happens automatically if you fulfill the prerequisites, so you don’t have to enter a coupon. If you can find items you want/need with this, it’s a great deal. I’ll look into it more later in the weekend. Expiration date unspecified.

This is a YMMV. IF you have an American Express credit card with Membership Points (not a Cashback card like Blue Cash), check the AMEX Offers section on the AMEX website or app. It’s right below your account summary when you login. Among the various offers floating there, they have a pretty good offer IF you are willing to pay your Prime membership with your eligible AMEX credit card.
