Sandisk is not the only one making short “thumb-size” USB flash drives. Samsung is making them too and for a limited time their 256GB FIT Plus (model MUF-256AB/AM) is on sale for $40 at B&H Photo and Amazon itself. Samsung says this is a *proof device (water, shock, magnet, temperature, x-ray) and comes with a 5-year warranty.
Great use for laptops so they don’t stick out or hooked to a smartphone/tablet using a short OTG cable [assuming your device is compatible] or used on the front USB ports of desktop computers or used as storage in smart TVs or digital TV PVR boxes [I did this with one of those cheap $30 OTA “DVRs”) or to play music in cars, and so on…

It’s hard not to find uses for USB flash drives these days (although USB-C and Lightning adapters may be necessary in certain cases). If that is so, there’s an organic sale again of the new condition Sandisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 flash drives going for $9 in the 64GB option, $18 in the 128GB option and the bang for the buck is $30 in the 256GB option.
Of these, the 128GB ships almost right away, while the 64GB is TOOS (temporarily out of stock), while the 256GB has an August 7 shipment estimate. Amazon tends to be on the conservative side of estimates, but that’s not a guarantee they’ll arrive on time or earlier ~ many things can happen that delay the arrival of something that should have been there earlier (from driver flat tires to confused new hires who can’t find your home or apartment).
