Pre-order new Sony f2.8 ZA lenses: 16-35 and 24-70

The new gear party is not over yet. Sony full frame A-mount photographers must needs hide their wallets! Sony announced two new professional f2.8 lenses. The 24-70mm f2.8 ZA SSM II VS T* for $2100, and the Sony 16-35mm f2.8 ZA SSM II VS T* for $2250. The shipping estimate is mid-June 2015. (VS as in Vario-Sonnar).

Pre-order new Zeiss Batis (E-Mount) lenses: 25/2, 85/1.8

The new hit single by Vanilla Ice is “Zeiss Zeiss baby” ;-) Now that you can’t un-hear that line, Zeiss announced two new lenses in the Batis line, that continue the computerization trend of camera gear, they have a built-in OLED display on the lens barrel that show important lens-y information for the photographer.

The first two lenses in the line are for the Sony NEX e-mount and they are available for pre-order as follows:

Zeiss Touit w/free accessories: 32/1.8 for $500 or 12/2.8 for $700

You can certainly tweet but you can’t take pictures with a tweet unless you use a touit lens ;-) Two such Zeiss lenses for mirrorless systems are currently on sale and they come with free accessories as well at Adorama. The 32mm f1.8 Touit goes for $500, while the 12mm f2.8 Touit goes for $700. These are available in Fuji X and Sony E-mount.

Pre-order six new Sony E-mount lenses and converters

Sony has just announced four new E-mount lenses and four converter lenses, headlined by the 35mm f1.4 ZA Zeiss ($1600) and the 90mm f2.8 OSS G macro ($1100), along with the 24mm f2 prime ($450), and the 24-240mm f3.5-6.3 OSS ($1000), along with four converters for various primes lenses.
