+ Olympus Underwater Housing PT-058 for $300 at Amazon itself and Adorama

The IN (Fuji X-T2, Canon 77D, Olympus E-M1 II) and OUT (Panasonic GH5) Report

With taxes finally done (don’t forget, Tuesday is the deadline for both the 2016 Tax Year and the first quarterly payment estimate for 2017), it is time to focus (pun intended) on the Stock Status Tracker. The bad news first, the Panasonic GH5 is out of stock at all the retailers I checked. The rest of the cameras tracked are good news for availability (bad news for your tax refund and/or wallet).

The Fuji X-T2 body only is back in-stock at Amazon by Amazon itself and a couple of 3rd-party sellers over there. The Prime-only restrictions are only for items sold and shipped by Amazon itself. 3rd-party sellers are happy to sell to anyone and everyone willing to pay 🙂 It is also in-stock at B&H Photo but note that orders will ship April 19+ even if you select overnight shipping!

The Canon 77D has been steadily in-stock every time I checked, the BuyDig bundle with a handful of accessories (3rd-party flash, converter lenses, filters ,bag, 64GB card, remote, and the usual assortment of trinkets (card reader, cleaning kit, microfiber cloth, air blower) included for the same price of $900.

Multiple Olympus E-M1 II Options
The Olympus E-M1 II body continues to go for $2000 at authorized dealers with stackable Combined Purchase Lens Discounts but there are some opportunities for discounting if you don’t need the stackable offer:

+ USED (Demo Condition) for $1859 + S&H at Adorama

+ USED (Like New Condition) for $1879 by Cardinal (via Amazon)
+ NOTE: ignore/AVOID those “Just Launched” sellers at Amazon that offer it for less. They are trolling/phishing for customer/financial data

+ NEW CONDITION but you can negotiate using eBay’s Built-In and Blessed “Best Offer” process by Pixel Connection (starting price is $2000)

Adorama offers combined purchase discounts with the Olympus E-M1 II as well

We mentioned in detail the Olympus E-M1 II combined purchase discounts at Amazon, but Amazon is not the only one offering these. You can also get them at Adorama. Start at the E-M1 II product page and expand the yellow “Special Offer” area to see all the options.

As you can see, there are nine different discounts, one for each lens. You can buy anywhere from one to nine lenses, and get a discount for each lens ~ purchased together with an eligible camera.

NOTE: ALL items must be sold and shipped by Amazon itself, NOT by 3rd-party sellers if you want to get ALL the combined purchase discounts!

NOTE: I haven’t done this promotion (being a poor blogger I can’t buy a $1000+ camera just so I can test the checkout process), so I don’t have a step by step for the whole process…

PSA: AVOID Too Good To Be True “Just Launched” Amazon Sellers

It is human nature to be tempted by a deal that looks too good to be true, even if all the signs scream RED ALERT. Listen to those signs. An on-going scam at Amazon, that Amazon has not yet been able to block automatically, is “Just Launched” sellers offering high-demand electronics at a fraction of their price. They want you to pay them directly (which violates Amazon’s terms of service for sellers). Needless to say, you will never get the item and your personal and financial information will be at risk. Check various forums, people still fall for this crap and describe their adventures trying to sort this out. So to summarize, AVOID like the PLAGUE!

Here’s an example of the Olympus E-M1 II whose price is $2000 (or higher since it’s hard to find) at real retailers:

Buy Olympus 75mm f1.8, Get 45mm f1.8 FREE

The “Olympus Portrait Kit” (Micro Four Thirds) currently breaks down as getting the Olympus 45mm f1.8 for FREE when you purchase the Olympus 75mm f1.8. The 75mm on its own goes for $900, and so does the Portrait kit. Meanwhile the 45mm f1.8 on its own goes for $324. You also get 4% promotional rewards on the bundle (about $36 to be used in future purchases) at Adorama and B&H Photo. The same price is available by various at Amazon but you don’t get 4% rewards. However, if you are a Prime member and pay with either the Amazon Chase VISA or the Prime Store Card, you get 5% cashback on the credit account [see Prime benefits].

Used Olympus 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 ED Zuiko for $380 (Four Thirds)

If you like to party like it’s a Four Thirds DSLR party, the Olympus 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 ED Zuiko Digital lens is available in used condition at B&H Photo for $380 (8+ condition) or $400 (9 condition). Free shipping. For the speed readers out there, this is a DSLR lens for the Four Thirds DSLR system. This is not a M43rds lens.

(ENDED) Olympus Pen-F Body drops to $918 (both colors; limit 5 each)

As of a late 2/1/17 recheck, the price returned to $1100… The Olympus Pen-F body only is currently on sale for $918 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon itself with a limit of up to five units per color per customer in either the silver Pen-F color scheme or the black Pen-F color scheme.

Olympus E-M5 II with 12-50mm and $40 Rewards for $1000 (Optional: add Lenses or Bags for combined purchase discount)

For a limited time, the Olympus E-M5 II body is bundled with the Olympus 12-50mm f3.5-6.3 EZ lens and $40~ in promotional rewards (to be used in future purchases) at Adorama in the black E-M5 II or the silver E-M5 II color schemes… Offer ends 2/25/17…

But that’s not all. Optionally you can purchase this bundle along with select Olympus M43 lenses for a combined purchase discount. Expand the yellow “Special Offer” section and then cilck on the “Camera Lens Deals” section. A mix of primes and zooms are eligible, for example, you can add the 40-150mm for $99 more, or the 12-40mm f2.8 for $699 more… Also there, you can add 24/7 Traffic Collection camera bags for +$7 to +$35 depending on which bag you select.

In-Stock: Olympus E-M1 II Body for $1999

In the first post-holidays update of the Stock Status Tracker, the Olympus E-M1 II body only is in-stock for its normal price of $1999 with free shipping by 3rd-party seller Wolfe’s Camera thru Amazon. This ships directly from Wolfe’s, so it’s not Prime eligible (this is a different Wolfe, not the “Ritz and Wolf” wolves). Supplies are limited as usual.

Olympus E-M1 (first gen) Body Only for $900 after $200 off coupon

The Olympus E-M1 II, riding a wave of performance accolades, is officially released but hard to find [check Stock Status Tracker for future updates) goes for $2000. But if you prefer to get the first generation for less than half the price, the NewEgg Techmas sale has a coupon for you, coupon code 1213GBYC298 drops the price from $1100 to $900 at NewEgg by NewEgg itself. The sale ends on Sunday 12/18/16 or earlier if sold out. (The Pen-F is not participating this time – it had sold out the previous time they did this $200 off coupon promotion).

PS: for a summary of the latest offers on a rolling basis, check the Holiday Shopping Situation Room. I just pruned all the expired deals from it.

Olympus E-PL7 w/14-42 for $399

The Olympus E-PL7 along with the 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 II R lens is currently on sale for $399 with free expedited shipping at B&H Photo as one of their Green Monday specials.

These expired: PS: don’t forget the Green Monday only $200 coupons for the Olympus E-M1 and Pen-F which bring them down to $900 and $1000 respectively ~ the original post had coupon-math errors with the title saying $1000 and $1100 respectively; because math is hard 🙂

(OLDER POST) Stock Update: Fuji X-T2 Auction continues, Used options with 3yr warranty; Olympus E-M1 II: movement but not in-stock right now

This is an older post… For future updates, check the Stock Status Tracker

PSA: Beware of trending Scam on Amazon from “Before Purchasing Contact Us” 3rd-party sellers

Beware of a new trending scam at Amazon, on listings of new and/or highly desirable products, scam artists are listing the product as 3rd-party sellers with significantly lower prices, and asking people to contact them before buying from Amazon. This violates various Amazon marketplace rules, and it’s also a scam, because no one would sell a $2000 camera for $500 unless it’s a scam or fake or stolen or who knows what else.

Here’s an example from the Olympus E-M1 II listing. The sad thing is that if they keep on doing it, it may suggest that a small percentage of people who see these are actually gullible enough to bite, so, just like spam, it becomes a numbers game, the more listings they create, the more people will bite.

Here’s an “annotated” screenshot of a listing like that:

Amazon is removing them but more and more keep on cropping us, which may suggest they haven’t found a way yet to block them at the root of the problem. It is easy to sell items as a 3rd-party seller, and there are infinite email accounts available. The pros and cons of an open marketplace.

Olympus Instant Savings: cameras, lenses, accessories

Another round of Olympus Instant Savings is in progress at Adorama featuring a variety of Olympus cameras (iLC and fixed) and lenses, and various accessories. Some of them are bundled with free accessories and/or promotional rewards. Due to time (and sanity) constraints I can’t go through them all one by one (at least not yet). Cyber Monday flies by too fast!

(ENDED) Cyber Monday only: 25% off Refurbished items at Olympus Outlet with coupon

This 1-day coupon expired but GetOlympus often launches coupon during holiday weekends… For Cyber Monday only, good until 11:59pm eastern, coupon code CYBER25 gets you 25% off at the Olympus Outlet which has refurbished/reconditioned Olympus cameras and lenses that come with a 90-day Olympus warranty. Supplies are limited, so YMMV on availability depending on when you check and what you are interested in.

Olympus Instant Savings on E-M cameras & Lenses

B&H Photo is also running an Olympus Instant Savings promotion featuring a variety of E-M cameras and Micro Four Thirds lenses. This is an ever-scrolling page, keep going on the “Load More” until you see them all. It includes the E-M5 II, E-M10 II, E-PL7, Pen-F, primes and zoom lenses, and more.

Stock Update: Olympus E-M1 II estimate moves to December 12

I just updated the Stock Status Tracker and it looks like the Olympus E-M1 II estimate is shifting deeper into December, it went from December 2 to 12 at two of the three retailers tracked. Amazon remains December 2nd but it’s possible that they haven’t updated their website with the new info yet, but Amazon is often slightly behind the specialty retailers in time-sensitive updates of this nature.

Pre-order alert: Olympus E-M1 II for $2000 [updated]

The brand new Olympus E-M1 II micro-four-thirds price-flagship is now available for pre-order as a body only kit with a starting price of $2000 at B&H Photo. Shipping estimate is early December… This camera too is included in the Stock Status Tracker

UPDATE: more retailers have it available for pre-order for $2000 including Amazon itself (December 8 estimate) and Adorama and the official Olympus USA store GetOlympus.

Buy One Get Second one for 10% off: refurbished Camera Gear (49 options, mostly Nikon and Olympus)

The official BuyDig eBay store is running a new promotion, Buy One Item, Get The Second One for 10% off. A total of 49 certified refurbished cameras and lenses are participating including Nikon DSLR lenses, the Olympus E-M5 and E-M10 Mark IIs, the E-PL5, various Nikon APS-C dSLRs up to the D7200, and a few Coolpixes too up to the P900 uber-zoom.

NOTE: you must purchase two items for this promotion. The discount will be applied to the LOWEST PRICE ITEM, so strategically this promotion maximizes your savings if the two items are as close in price as possible.

Free …Brunch for Two with Olympus E-PL8 purchase (must fill out forms)

I don’t recall a camera manufacturer offering free food with a camera purchase before, but Olympus is currently doing it. If you purchase the Olympus E-PL8, and fill out some forms, you can get a brunch for two (yes, brunch as in breakfast + lunch) for FREE. You have to fill in a form, and then plan with a “concierge agent” based on time-sensitive deadlines. You must purchase the Olympus E-PL8 at an authorized dealer between 9/19 and 12/31 in 2016 and follow the instructions and deadlines at the promotional page.

Olympus M43 Lens Instant Savings (10 options)

Olympus has launched another round of instant savings on ten of their micro four thirds lenses. You can find the participating lenses nicely organized at B&H Photo. This includes the f2.8 zoom trio going for $1200 (7-14), $900 (12-40), and $1400 (40-150), along with a mix of primes and other zooms. The lenses earn 4% promotional rewards as well.

Olympus Pen-F Body and 15mm f8 Body Cap Lens and $48 Rewards for $1199 with Free Overnight Shipping

If you hate waiting for new cameras to arrive, Adorama is offering Free Overnight Shipping on the Olympus Pen-F Body Only in either the black or silver color schemes for $1199. You also get $48~ in promotional rewards (to be used in future purchases) and the Olympus 15mm f8 Body Cap Lens… The same offer is available at B&H Photo except you don’t get overnight but expedited shipping…

PS: this is part of the latest Olympus Camera and Lens Sale.
