If you are a Prime member, one of the many Prime Benefits is the “Prime Reading” feature that allows you to read a number of items for FREE. This includes e-books (around 1000 options), along with some comic books and single magazine issues (typically the latest issue).
Among the latest Free to Read Magazines is the September 2017 issue of Shutterbug, along with the August 2017 issue of Consumer Reports and the August 2017 issue of WIRED.
You can read as many eligible items as you want with Prime Reading, however, you can only have ten items checked out at a time. So if you are interested in a lot of things, get a mix of things you will read quickly and things you’ll read slowly, so your ten spots won’t be taken over by slow-reading material. Of course you can still return and re-pick them at any time.
Once you borrow an item, you can keep it as long as you want. While you keep it, it will take one of your ten slots.

B&H also includes articles in-between the usual product categories and pages. This is over 300 pages long. You can sign-up for a catalog or view the catalog online or download it in PDF either as a whole or in parts at the B&H Catalog page.
The weekend magazine sale is back at DiscountMags with a $5 per magazine per year theme, which is good news if you are interested in “Digital Photo PRO” or “Videomaker” because they too are discounted to $5 per magazine per year. ORIGINAL POST: One of the day-long Gold Box deals du jour at Amazon is a 1-year auto-renewal Magazine Sale featuring a soccer team of titles (11) with prices ranging from $4 to $5 per magazine, including 1-year for Popular Photography for $4 for the first year. The sale prices are only for the first year. After the first year (if not cancelled or manually renewed), these will auto-renew at the “future current” renewal rate.
PS: if you don’t like auto-renewals, there are offers every weekend at DiscountMags that don’t auto-renew.
This weekend sale ended…
The Weekend Magazine Sale at DiscountMags ending on Monday night is a “Top 100 sale”, featuring two print photography magazines going for $5 per magazine per year, with the usual terms. The two are Pop Photo and Outdoor Photoographer.
If you are a Prime member, you automatically have the new “Prime Reading” benefit where you can borrow e-books or digital magazines from a preset selection. Among the magazines, the January 2017 selection includes the February 2017 edition of Shutterbug, along with the February 2017 issue of Consumer Reports, and a handful of other degrees-of-separation magazines (sports, fashion, nature, etc). You are borrowing these, you do not digitally-own them, but you can keep them as long as you like. Each one counts as one of your “ten out”. It’s like a library where you can have up to ten items out at any time, but you can return them and get new ones as many times as you want. You cannot read these on a desktop PC, either the Kindle apps (iOS, Android) or Amazon’s own hardware devices (Fire tablets or The Fire Phone).
UPDATE: Offer ends Monday night…

This weekend’s sale at Discount Mags is a Top 100 Best Prices of the Year type of a promotion, featuring two photography magazines among the many others. Both are printed glossy magazines delivered to US addresses, without auto-renewal. You pay $4 per magazine per year for Outdoor Photographer or Popular Photography. You can sign-up for up to three years per individual magazine, and individually select whether it’s a gift or new-subscription or a renewal. Offer ends Monday night.
Magazines too are having a black friday sale, Discount Mags is offering 1-year delivered-by-mail print subscriptions to “Popular Photography” or “Outdoor Photographer” for $4 per magazine per year, “Digital Photo” for $4.25 per year, and “Digital Photo PRO” for $5.25 per year. Another weekend is here which means a new weekend sale at Discount Mags. This is the “default safe”, with 1-year subscriptions of glossy-printed-by-mail Popular Photography or Digital Photo or Outdoor Photographer going for $5 per magazine per year. “Digital Photo PRO” goes for its “default sale price” of $8 per year. The aforementioned are printed glossy magazines. Also participating is a 1-year Zinio digital subscription of Shutterbug for $15 per year. It is interesting to see such a price delta when you consider a print-magazine is more expensive to deliver. Offer ends Monday night as usual, with the usual terms (no auto-renewals, new subs or gift subs or renewals, adjust duration per magazine from 1 to 3 years, etc).
If you are a Prime member, one of your benefits is Prime Reading. Magazines count as one of your “ten out” selections but you can return them at any time to free up the slot. You don’t own these, they are digitally borrowed. As far as I can tell, these digital magazine issues can only be read on iOS and Android, not Windows.
