FREE to Watch (starts Sunday 11:30am ET): B&H Depth of Field Day #1

If you have time and bandwidth to spare, starting on Sunday March 7 at 11:30am eastern time (aka New York time) is the 4th annual B&H Photo Depth of Field Conference, Day #1 of 2. Each day has a schedule of speakers who will be talking about photography-related things, one at a time. This is what I call the “main stage”.

In addition to the main stage, thanks to the miracles and wonders of Zoom, they have three different virtual ballrooms, each one having its own day-long schedule running in parallel.

Gear-heads may be very interested in the “Grand Ballroom” where the talk focuses on cameras and lenses including Nikon Z-series, Sony Alpha 1 and A7s III, Canon R5 and RF/EF lenses, and more…

More gear-talk but not camera/lens-centric can be found in the “Crystal Ballroom”…

Then to the “B&H Expert Room” you may want to head on if you are fond of Q&A on various photo-related and tech-related topics and such…

And if you want more, in the runup to the show B&H had previously scheduled various webinars and you can rewatch them now or in the future for free.

You can also find the stream of the “main stage” YouTube-embedded below. If you feel like joining the live chat, you have to head on over to the YouTube live-streaming page…

So to summarize, you have four options to watch at any time. The “main stage” YouTube-live stream [embedded-above] and three Zoom seminars [think of this a little bit like watching a presentation at a manufacturer’s booth]

Enjoy! 🙂

1-Year Prepaid Creative Live Creator Pass for $129 total

The sale is back! A great educational companion during the COVIDalia season, Creative LIVE is offering their 1-Year PrePaid “Creator Pass” subscription for $129. You pay this upfront, and you have 12 months access to almost every class on their website, Netflix-style. You can watch as much or as little whenever you want… This comes out to $10.50 per month, cheaper than Netflix or HBO Mad Max 🙂

If you prefer to pay monthly with a 1-year commitment you pay $15 per month which comes out to $180. So you’d save $51 by prepaying. The true month to month option is $39 per month, which makes financial sense if you have 30 days of downtime and then you’ll be busy… Going two months month-to-month = $78, at which point you are probably too close to $129 not to get the annual plan.

The Exclusions can be found at the Excluded page. These are excluded due to prior agreements/arrangements with their creators…

UPDATE: meanwhile at the Sunday Camera & Photo Ligntning Deals at Amazon we have some of the usual suspects, various lighting kits, camera bags, action cams, etc. Neewer is the star once again!

CreativeLIVE introduces monthly billing with annual commitment for their “Netflix-style” plan

Some people prefer to pa for things monthly, not prepay annually for plans (think car and home insurance for example). For those who prefer the monthly billing option, CreativeLIVE has now launched a monthly billing option of their Netflix-style Creator Pass. You pay $15 per month WITH a 12-month commitment… On the other hand, if you don’t mind prepaying ahead of time, the annual one-payment option is $129, which is less than $15×12 = $180… The month to month plan (no commitment) is currently at $40/month…

This is the first year (365 days) of a new subscription. It cannot be used to renew existing subscriptions.

Almost all current and future classes are included but there are some exceptions due to prior agreements with instructors and such. You can find the exceptions at the Terms and Conditions page of the offer…

Big sale at CreativeLIVE, includes Camera classes

e-Learnings on an e-sale, there’s a big sale at Creative LIVE that includes many of their big classes, for example John Greengo’s 24.5 hour long “Fundamentals of Photography” goes for $29, while the 25-hour Ben Willmore “Adobe CC Complete Guide” goes for $19. This is a good opportunity to learn about the camera if you are curious about buying it. John Greengo has a very even-keeled matter-of-fact easy-listening teaching-style that is conducive to e-learnings…

PS: disambiguation: it’s easy to add or remove a “0” from Fuji camera model names, so this PS is certifying that this is indeed the Fuji X-T3, not the X-T30 🙂
