GoPRO HERO6 with $50 Gift Card for $450

Another one of the eBay Black Friday Ad specials [see 2017 BF Ads Digest] has gone live at the eBay Deals, it is the new condition GoPRO HERO 6 with a $50 eBay Gift Card (does not specify whether this is digital or plastic by mail) and a 16GB microSD card offered for $450 with free shipping by the 6ave eBay Store. Limit three per customer.

There is no mention of warranty on the listing, so assume there is none to be on the safe side. This is the same seller that is apparently offering the $1500 Panasonic GH5.

UPDATE: speaking of eBay and Black Friday, another one of their doorbusters is live, the new condition Google Home offered for $79 with free shipping by Yapper Wireless, with up to three units per customer at the sale price. The listing says it comes with a 1-year warranty.

Imported Panasonic GH5 body w/1-YR seller warranty for $1500

One of the cameras teased in the eBay BF Ads [see BF Ads Digest mega-post] is the Panasonic GH5 body only for $1500, and I think I’ve found that offer. As expected, it is imported/grey-market, offered in new condition by 6ave’s eBay store with a limit of up to three per buyer. It comes with a 1-year seller warranty.

This is a $50 drop since the last time I updated the Stock Status Tracker where the same seller offered it for $1550. The new condition price at authorized dealers remains $2000 (thank you MAP pricing).

BUT another option emerged now, KEH Camera has limited supplies in USED “LN-” (Like New Minus) condition for $1829 plus shipping. And if you buy before 12/31/17, you get a 365-warranty from KEH Camera instead of the usual 180-day. Definitely better to have a KEH warranty than an eBay seller warranty 🙂

eBay reveals Cameras in their BF Ad – most likely imported/grey-market

eBay has revealed their eight page Black Friday ad and it has about half a dozen digital cameras in it. The eBay ad however does not specify the seller of the camera, the warranty situation, or the condition of the product, so that’s a mystery until the deal goes live. Judging by the prices, it looks like most of them are probably going to be imported/grey-market. About half of them are 35mm full frame cameras.

We integrated eBay’s offers in the Black Friday 2017 Ads Digest. You can find all the eBay additions by using your browser’s search function looking for “eBay” (not case sensitive).

I will price-check and dig around on eBay to see if these are already live.

Imported Panasonic 100-400 f4-6.3 OIS for $1370 [m43]

To the eBay Deals we go, where the QuickNDone eBay store (99.9%) is offering the new condition imported grey-market Panasonic Leica DG 100-400mm F/4-6.3 O.I.S micro four thirds lens for $1370 with free shipping until 11/6/17 or earlier if sold out. Limit two per customer.

There is no mention of warranty in the eBay listing except when you hit the Warranty tab at the very bottom, it says limited 1-year (it may have been a leftover or default setting in the form). In the chance they do offer a warranty, it would be a seller-warranty, since they are not Panasonic USA retailers. Assume there is no warranty to be on the safe side.

Limit five per mount per customer. Between them they sold over 800 units.

Warranty-wise, if you are buying in Canada, you get a 6-year Tamron Canada warranty. If you are buying elsewhere, you get the 1-year Tamron International warranty. So it’s a lot shorter than the Tamron USA warranty. That’s one of the reasons why the price is lower. They are a Canadian seller but the eBay listing says they ship from various locations in the USA.

This is the lowest price I recall seeing. The previous low price I saw was in the $1600s.

Imported Tamron 24-70 f2.8 Di VC USD for $690 [C/N]

The first generation new condition Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD goes for $1100 at authorized dealers which can include some free accessories such as Adorama.

But if you are a more adventurous shopper, then to the eBay Deals we go, where eBay seller “QuickNDone” (99.9%) is offering the lens in new condition for $690 with free shipping in the Nikon system. Per the listing, the sale ends 9/20/17.

UPDATE: they also offer this in the Canon EF system for the same price.

Further down the product listing, under “Warranty” it says that you get either a 1-Year Tamron International warranty or a 6-Year Tamron Canada warranty, depending on location. They also offer a 30-day return policy.

This is a higher risk than buying in new condition from authorized Tamron USA dealers, that’s one of the reasons for the lower price. I believe “QuickNDone” is a Canadian seller.

Imported Fuji X-T2 body only w/seller warranty for $1450

And now we continue refreshing the Stock Status Tracker with some Fuji X-T2 body only action!

If you are comfortable with imported cameras with a warranty provided by the seller (not Fuji USA), you can get the new condition Fuji X-T2 in imported grey-market condition for $1450 by Deals All Year on eBay (99.8%, New Jersey).

On the other hand, if you prefer used cameras, you can get it in “Used – Excellent” condition for $1349 plus shipping (starts at $14, varies by zipcode) from Adorama which offers a 90-day warranty of their own and a 30-day return policy.

Meanwhile Cardinal Photo is offering it in “Used – Like New” condition for $1399 through Amazon Warehouse Deals. Not Prime eligible. The description says this is the X-T2 with 18-55 kit, with the 18-55 removed (and presumably sold separately).

Some sellers do this, by selling them separately, they can get a better price than selling the kit as is. This is because of the built-in discount of the official “with lens” kits. As long as sellers are upfront about it and are clear in the descriptions, giving people more options and more alternatives is good.

Imported Panasonic GX850 Body Only WITHOUT Warranty for $390

The new Panasonic GX850 with the 12-35mm goes for $550 in new condition at authorized Panasonic dealers which can include some free accessories with it such as Adorama (free Corel software, holster bag, 16GB card, card wallet, etc).

But if you only want the GX850 body-only, and you are comfortable buying international (imported, grey market) camera body WITHOUT any warranty, the Panasonic GX850 body only is available for $390~ with free shipping and no warranty from 6ave through Amazon. This ships directly from 6ave, but if you are a Prime member, you receive Prime-like shipping speed for free. It may not be as fast as Amazon since 6ave is on the East Coast, they don’t have warehouses everywhere like Amazon does.

As usual in situations like this, it is up to you to decide how much risk you are willing to take.

Sony has many options now-a-days in the E-mount, both APS-C and full frame cameras, just look at all the Sonys in the Mirrorless Price Chart. If of all those options you are settled on the Sony a6000 with 16-50mm, it currently goes for $650 at authorized Sony USA dealers, which are allowed to add a handful of free accessories such as Adorama.
