Used LensCoat for Canon 500 f4 IS II for $52

A mini dive into the Amazon Warehouse Deals fishes out a lens accessory. The “digital camo” color scheme of the LensCoat LC5002DC made for the Canon 500 f/4 IS II lens is available in “Used – Like New” condition (damaged original packaging) for $51.79 with free shipping.

PS: a description of “Used – Like New” condition (damaged original packaging)” is usually a good sign at Amazon Warehouse Deals, but as always, each used purchase is an individual transaction, it’s like a box of chocolates, so there’s always a higher risk than buying new condition.

Fuji X-T20 kits drop $100 (Body for $799, Etc)

As part of the new Fuji Instant Savings, the Fuji X-T20 camera is down by $100, with the Body Only going for $799, the X-T2 with 16-50 going for $899, and the X-T2 with 18-55mm going for $1100.

Adorama has a super bundle but it remains at $1199 and includes the Fuji X-T20 with 16-50 and 50-230 and Fuji hand grip and Lowepro 140 and 16GB Sandisk Extreme and ProOptic filter kit, Corel software bundle, Lowepro lens case, and a few more lens-a-ccessories.

Used Fuji X100F drops to $1137 in either color

Despite the new Fuji Instant Savings, the Fuji X100F holds steady at $1300 in new condition at authorized dealers. If you are comfortable with USED condition though, the price has dropped to $1137~ in both colors, by Amazon Warehouse deals itself. Other 3rd-party sellers there have it for less but if you are not familiar with them, it’s a higher risk!

As of the time of writing, both the Used X100F black and the Used X100F silver go for $1137.

As usual, do pay attention to who the actual seller is. The price alone should not be the sole determining factor!

New Canon (EF) and Fuji (X, GF) Instant Savings

Sundays are the starts of new “shopping weeks” and promotions at retailers and also by manufacturers through their MAP-controlled “Instant Savings” promotions. This Sunday we have two new instant savings promotions going live, nicely organized by B&H Photo as follows:

+ Canon Instant Savings featuring five DSLRs and 13 lenses

+ Fuji Instant Savings featuring a handful of cameras and lenses, in the X System and the GF* system too
+ also available nicely organized at Adorama

+ in progress, I don’t think mentioned them before, there are some Panasonic Instant Savings, nicely organized at Adorama

Now shipping: Pinnacle Studio 21 software

Adobe gets the lion share of the attention and the profits from the world of digital photo imaging but they are certainly not the only company making software out there. One of The Others has a new product release, the Pinnacle Studio 21 software is in-stock and shipping in a software box/disc by mail, going for $60 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon itself.

(ENDED) Sony a6500 body only drops to $1218

A Clash of the Shopping Titans! The new condition Sony a6500 body only is currently on sale for the very specific price of $1218 with free shipping at Walmart by Walmart itself and also at Amazon by Amazon itself (limit three per customer).

Groupon offers 90-day mini-Prime service for $15 one-time fee

Do you often find things you like at Groupon, but end up not getting them because your order total is under $35 and adding the $3.99 shipping fee ruins the deal?

Just in time for the upcoming Holiday Shopping Season, Groupon is offering a 90-Day Free Shipping Subscription for a $15 one-time fee.

It’s like a Mini Prime. This gets you free shipping on every eligible order for the next 90 days. Typically Groupon offers free shipping on orders of $35+. So if you think you are going to place four or more orders in the next 90 days that would otherwise charge you $4 shipping, then you come ahead.

The 90 day clock starts with purchase date. For example, if you purchase it today, it would run until January 12, 2018 [both October and December have 31 days].

Here’s an annotated screenshot of their summary of terms and conditions:

RESTRICTIONS: just like Prime, this offer only applies to items sold and shipped by Groupon Goods. Items sold by Marketplace sellers (3rd-party sellers, not Groupon itself) are NOT eligible for the offer. Not eligible are items that require special delivery or white glove and such.

In other words, items that would otherwise get the standard $3.99 flat shipping will be get free shipping while you are subscribed to this mini-Prime.

This will likely increase impulse buys, so if you are trying to avoid those, this is probably an enabler!

Fujifilm INSTAX Mini Instant Film Twin Pack for $12.49 [limit 3]

It’s a sale or a price-match, Amazon itself is offering Fujifilm INSTAX Mini Instant Film Twin Pack (that’s 20 total sheets, in two 10-packs) for $12.49. Limit up to three Twin Packs per customer. Free 2-day shipping for Prime members or with a $25+ order.

If you need more, the 100-pack at Groupon Goods goes for $60 with free shipping and free returns.

20% off Local Deals at Groupon (various custom photo print offers)

Good until Sunday night, coupon code SALE3 gets you 10% off Groupon Goods (physical products) and 20% off Local Deals. Of custom photo prints interest, most of the custom photo books, and metal and canvas prints and such reside under the Local Deals, so you can get 20% off. You can navigate the categories or use their search bar. For example, this is a search for Photo Prints. The usual terms/conditions/exclusions apply.

NOTE: a lot of the custom photo prints do not include include shipping when you redeem the prints at the printer’s website. Make sure you check the listings, do not assume they come with free shipping!

The LG V30 and V30+ are out!

LG’s approach to their flagship smartphone cameras has been bright lenses and wider than telephoto. Their new LG V30 and V30+ duo is now out in the US market with various options at various carriers. The unlocked versions are coming later in the year. As part of the launch, LG and Google have a special promotion through participating carriers that gets you a FREE Daydream View VR Headset and a second year warranty.

+ at Verizon Wireless, you get a $200 prepaid VISA gift card along with the Daydream
+ price is $840 outright or $35/month on a 24-month plan on approved credit with 0% APR

+ at T-Mobile the price is $800 or the equivalent with an installment plan
+ but they offer $500 back in a prepaid Mastercard if you buy TWO LG V30s when you add a line, pay with an Installment Plan and such. There’s also an optional offer for a free LG G Pad X2 tablet

+ at AT&T they offer it $27/mo on an installment plan OAC or $810 outright

+ at US Cellular they offer a $20/month on a 30-month installment plan or $800 outright

+ at Sprint they offer a 2-for-1 “Sprint Flex” offer with an installment plan and such. Note that “Sprint Flex” is a lease program, not a purchase program
+ Sprint offers the V30+ which has more on-board memory

The FREE Google DayDream promotion and second year warranty comes from LG and Google and is redeemed through the LG launch promotion page. The other offers are through each particular carrier.

As usual when dealing with carriers, make sure you understand all the terms, restrictions, traps, and conditions of their offers. They have a long way to go towards offering more transparent and consumer-friendly plans and services.

Monoprice Underwater Housing for the Canon G1X for $10 + S&H

If you are a Canon G1X photographer, you may be in luck…

Monoprice has an on-going Clearance sale that includes a dedicated Camera-related page. Among the items offered there is the new condition Waterproof Camera Dive Housing For the Canon G1X for $10 plus shipping. Shipping speed options vary but the lowest price seems to be around $9 for the various zipcodes I tried.

That’s the shipping fee if you don’t buy anything else. Some other items at Monoprice qualify for free shipping, and often if you buy an item with free shipping it will drop the shipping fee of other items in the shopping cart. Monoprice works in mysterious ways 🙂

You can get a shipping and handling estimate without logging-in or creating an account. Simply add the item to the shopping cart and enter your zipcode(s) of interest. In some areas, your whole order may qualify for 1-day delivery that costs about the same as slow shipping. So do check all the options before checking out!
