This is a YMMV! If you are participating in the Best Buy rewards program (“My Best Buy”), check your Inbox for an email from Best Buy titled “Drop Everything”. Inside you will find a “click to activate” offer that gets you a $5 bonus certificate that expires on 11/28/20 at night. This can be used online or in-store. I am at the entry-level Best Buy rewards tier and haven’t purchased anything from them in a while, so it may be a “reactivate inactive users” type of a promotion. It’s also possible that customers in higher reward tiers may be offered a higher amount, the “spend more to profit (for them) / save (for the consumer) more” philosophy 🙂

Sony complicated mail-in promotion with conditions: Buy 2 or More participating Sony Lenses, Own a qualifying Sony Full-Framer, and Get Mail-In Rebate Per Lens

Sony is running a little bit of a convoluted “buy more save more” type of a promotion until December 6 in 2020. The start of the promotional period was September 1st in 2020. Items need not to be purchased from the same retailer or the same date.

The offer requires:

  • Buy 2 or more Sony Lenses from this eligible list of options; new condition authorized dealer only, no open-box, no used, no refurbished – look for them at B&H Photo
  • You Must Own a Sony Full Frame camera from this list A7S III, A7R III, A7R IV, A9, A9 II; purchase time does not matter for this, you could also buy the camera together with the lenses
  • you must enter the information (serial numbers, etc) at the promotional Sony page
  • you will receive $100 to $200 per eligible lens; the amounts per lens are predetermined (typically the more expensive the lens, the higher the rebate)
  • you will receive the amount in about 2 months as a prepaid VISA gift card
  • check all the terms conditions and restrictions before jumping in
