Aukey is a brand that is competing with Anker on the affordable but fairly good quality electronics and computer accessories.
Per the Amazon product page, I purchased this $32 mechanical keyboard a couple of years ago. This has blue switches, and I of course did not purchase it for gaming but for blog-post typing. It certainly makes a difference over conventional keyboards ~ if nothing else the clickety-clack of the mechanical keys is some sort of a stress relief 🙂 The product description explains how to change the keyboard lights. You can also turn them off completely. Just press the Fn button with other keys together while standing on your left leg and singing jazz 😉
Woot Garage sale refilled (50pk Canon 4×6 for $15)
The Woot Garage sales have been refilled with some items. For example the Electronics Garage sale includes the 50pk Canon 4×6 photo paper (PT-101) for $15 with up to ten per customer. Woot Plus: refurbished HP Printers, Inks, Apple and Chrome laptops
Woot Plus (the longer-running deals, not the daily ones) are having a sale on HP Printer and Inks with five printers and five ink options participating. Printers range from $22 (Deskjet Advantage 1115) to $80 (Envy Photo 7855 AiO). Inks go from $30 to $43. All but the $22 printer are factory reconditioned with a 90-day HP warranty. Another Woot Plus deal running until 9/13/19 focused on refurbished Chromebooks and Apple laptops with the Thinkpad X150e starting at $90. This has a nice 4GB RAM but 16GB on-board storage. As one of the Commenters over there pointed out, this is however an older model, so it is no longer getting Chrome OS updates.
Google offers 6.5 years of ChromeOS updates BUT the clock is not ticking when a new laptop is released. Instead the clock is ticking on the platform. And the platform is defined as the date the first laptop was released using that laptop. So if a new laptop is released using a 3 year old processor, it will only get 3.5 years of updates because the platform is on the clock, not the indivudual laptop. This is explained in Google Support…
