Pre-order new 10.2-inch iPads starting at $329

A sign perhaps of Apple’s need to drive more sales among the “mere mortals”, this week saw the first official live-stream of a big Apple event in the modern era on YouTube and this was backed up by a Tim Cook statistics on the iPad ~ a lot of the iPad users are new and non-iPhone users, the iPad is bringing fresh blood in the shoppe.

Which brings us to the just-announced 10.2-inch iPads, they are now available to pre-order at B&H Photo with prices starting at $329 (Wifi, 32GB) and going +$100 for the jump to 128GB. For fans of 4G LTE, they have the usual +$130 on the Wifi-only model.

And there’s good reason iPads are keep getting bought up by non-platform users. Both Microsoft and Google tablets are in a state of non-existent confusion. Google can’t decide if they want Android or ChromeOS or both or neither for their tablets 🙂 Microsoft can’t decide which variant of “Windows Lite” to launch this month 😉

PS: if the CEO of Apple can get away with saying “eggspecially” can I also do it? Or is this too part of the Apple script to make the presentation feel more conversational/human/casual/relatable? I’m eggspecially interested in finding out!

For the computer-inclined, the Dell Outlet is continuing its Overstock sale with various offerings as usual. The offers that require a promo code say so in their little virtual box that describes the offer.

Meanwhile the Dell Home store is continuing its semi-annual sale with 17% off savings on select items (some require promo code SAVE17). They also have optional 6-month financing offers on $499+ purchases (on approved credit, etc, etc, etc).

Monoprice, per their website, offers a 30-day money-back guarantee and a 90-day warranty on products in this category that are, per their website, inspected and tested. and such on the left hand side of their website.

Speaking of Monoprice, they now have in-stock and shipping their new FORM technology backpacks with prices ranging from $60 to $90 with free US shipping.

256GB microSDXC cards: Sandisk Ultra for $38, Samsung EVO Select for $40

I’m still not sure what’s the difference between the “Plus” Sandisk memory cards sold at Best Buy [as seen in today’s earlier $45 256GB daily deal, but if you don’t want/need the PLUS, you can get the “regular” 256GB Sandisk Ultra microSDXC for $38~ by Amazon itself (up to 4 per customer).

Or if you prefer the way of Samsung, one of their many colors, the 256GB EVO Select (the green/lime) is going for $40 by Amazon itself.

Or if you prefer the 200GB storage option, the Sandisk Ultra goes for just a few pennies under $30 by Amazon itself [limit four per customer], or on the same listing you can jump to the 400GB card for $53.

These days I mostly get Samsung and Sandisk microSD cards. Samsung are the only ones so far that I have had zero problems with. (having said that, I probably jinxed myself and my Samsung card with the higher capacity and zero backups is going to go toast soon LOL]…
