It’s IFA time in Berlin [see Trade Show Calendar] which means new hardware and such. Coincidence or not, Tamron has revealed two new Prime lenses for the Canon, Nikon and Sony-Alpha-Dyxum-Maxxum SLR mounts. The Canon and Nikon are stabilized (VC) but not the Sony. It is the 35mm f1.8 Di USD (VC) for $600, and the 45mm f1.8 Di USD (VC) for $600 as well. Pre-orders are accepted at B&H Photo and Adorama…

Video killed the video star! That’s the new version of the song. Regardless, B&H Photo is offering the Sony PMW-F3L Super 35mm XDCAM EX Full-HD Compact Camcorder with S-Log Gamma for $4000 in new condition or $3000 in used condition.
Costco time! 100 pairs of socks? Check! 200 rolls of toilet paper? Check! 420 chocolate brownies? Check! The DxO One camera is estimated to begin shipping on October 1st in 2015. Under the Special Offers section of its product page at Amazon it says that it is eligible for one year of free Unlimited Cloud storage. Per the terms of the offer, the one year cloud storage will become available to you 48 hours after the camera ships (not 48 hours after an order is placed).
If you are looking for the good old Nikon Coolpix A big-sensor-prime, you can get it for $300 with free shipping in manufacturer refurbished condition with a 90 day Nikon USA warranty by Adorama on eBay and Adorama directly.
Rakuten (ne’e Buy.com) has another rewards promotion. Use coupon code REWARDME to earn 7% back in Rakuten Rewards on technology purchases, and 10% back on non-tech purchases at the Rakuten website. Promotion ends at the end of day on 9/7/2015. This is not a discount on the purchase price, but rewards to be used in future purchases. The earned rewards are of a promotional nature, you have to use them within a specific time period, which makes them better suited for regular Rakuten shoppers (or very organized shoppers who can plan and organize purchases ahead of time in a Spock-like fashion).
