The latest update of the Stock Status Tracker finds the Panasonic G9 in-stock at authorized dealers in limited quantities at its official starting price of $1700 as follows:
+ Cameta Camera (eBay) (two available as of the time of writing)
Welcome to the Camera Dome :)
The latest update of the Stock Status Tracker finds the Panasonic G9 in-stock at authorized dealers in limited quantities at its official starting price of $1700 as follows:
+ Cameta Camera (eBay) (two available as of the time of writing)
On the budget side of Micro Four Thirds, the new condition Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150mm f4.0-5.6 ASPH lens is currently on sale for $148 with free shipping at authorized dealers with the following freebies:
+ at Adorama you get a 52mm ProOptics filter kit (three filters with case), cap keeper and cleaning kit
+ 4% promotional rewards ($6~) at Adorama and B&H Photo
+ 5% statement credit for Prime members pay with a Prime credit card at Amazon
I just added the upcoming Panasonic G9 to the Stock Status Tracker, and surprise-surprise, both the Amazon itself listing and the B&H Photo listing have a January 15 estimate! The original Panasonic estimate was for late February. So if two major retailers have the same estimate, that’s a good sign!
Obligatory screenshots to make sure I did not post this while sleep-walking/sleep-blogging, first B&H and then Amazonia 🙂
CES 2018 is here and with it we have our first major interchangeable lens camera announcement, it is the brand new Panasonic GH5S, yes, the S is part of the name, it is not plural, SAD that so many companies fail at such a simple thing in product naming 🙂 The new GH5S is a video-priority variant of the GH5, and it is available for pre-ordering for $2500 at B&H Photo and Adorama…
Having won 2017 with a 13 vs 8 score, Mirrorless scores the first “goal” of 2018 against DSLRs. That D-Rebel T6 is a leaky goalie 🙂
The new condition Panasonic TS30 waterproof P&S digital camera in its three different color schemes is bundled with some freebies for the same price of $138 with free shipping as follows:
+ at B&H Photo you get a a 16GB Sandisk Ultra SD and a Ruggard pouch
+ at Adorama you get a Lowepro pouch, 16GB Sandisk microSD, cleaning kit, and Corel software bundle
If you are looking for a Micro Four Thirds “take pictures with” kit, Adorama has a bundle for you. The Panasonic GX85 with the 12-32mm and 45-150mm f4-5.6 lenses, along with a $50 Adorama gift certificate and $24 promotional rewards, all together for $598 with fre expedited shipping in the silver color scheme or the black color scheme.
B&H Photo also offers the two lens kit for the same price, but instead of the gift card and promotional rewards, you get a SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Memory Card and a Ruggard Hunter 25 DSLR Holster Bag.
The Panasonic G9 is on the horizon for $1300, but if you don’t want to wait or pay the deputy-flagship price (I will add this to the Stock Tracker as we get closer), the silver color of the Panasonic GX8 is on sale for $748 with free shipping and 4% promotional rewards ($30~) at B&H Photo until Saturday at 11:59pm ET. Note however that B&H does not accept orders during the Sabbath (Friday PM to Saturday PM), so plan your ordering accordingly!
What if you like the GX8 but also want a price lens with it? B&H Photo has you covered there too, the GX8 with 25mm f1.7 lens for $898 with free shipping and 4% promotional rewards ($36~). This offer ends Sunday at 11:59pm ET.
The Panasonic GX85 is back on with another offer! B&H Photo is including a $50 B&H Photo Gift Card along with a free 64GB Sandisk Extreme PRO SDXC memory card (definitely not a throw-away memory card!) and a shoulder bag bundled with the Panasonic GX85 two lens kit (12-32, 45-150) for $598 with free expeditd shipping in your choice of silver or black.
Another freebie has been added to this. The new condition Panasonic ZS100 superzoom (1″ sensor, 10x optical zoom) is offered in a bundle at Adorama for $548 with free shipping with these freebies:
+ $80 Adorama gift certificate
+ $22 Adorama promotional rewards
+ Panasonic DMW-BLG10 Li-Ion Battery & Charger Travel Bundle (which as the name suggests includes a charger and a battery)
The sale is good for the black or the silver color scheme.
A number of Panasonic gear continues to be offered with either free gift cards or free lenses, find those in our earlier Panasonic posts.
The Panasonic GX85 with 12-32 and 45-150 goes for $598 at B&H Photo and Adorama.
As of 12/11/17 PM recheck, the price increased from $548 to $598 at at Amazon by Amazon itself with up to three cameras per color per customer. This WAS not a lightning deal, so expiration time WAS unknown.
Panasonic action once again, a “Take Pictures with a Prime Lens Kit”, the new condition Panasonic GX8 silver color scheme is bundled with the Panasonic 25mm f1.7 lens, together going for $898 with free shipping at B&H Photo… You can optionally triple the original warranty by filing with Panasonic…
If you are interested in the GX85 with 12-32mm, there are a couple of freebie promotions running:
+ B&H Photo you get a $50 B&H Gift Card
+ Adorama you get the Panasonic 45-150mm f/4.0-5.6 ASPH Lens instead of a $50 GC
PS: a number of the previously mentioned Panasonic gift card deals continue.
A lot of Panasonic Cameras and Lenses get free gift cards with purchase at Adorama, but that’s not all. The Panasonic ZS70 instead of a gift card it gets bundles of free accessories for the same authorized dealer price of $398 with free shipping. The offer is available for the silver or black color scheme of this 30x travel zoom.
When you expand the “Bundle Includes” section on the Adorama product listing you see all the freebies included:
+ Panasonic Travel Kit (one DMW-BLG10 Battery, and one DMW-BTC9 Charger)
+ Corel software bundle (five titles: two photo, one video, etc)
+ 24/7 TC camera pouch
+ 16GB Sandisk SD card
+ USB card reader
+ cleaning kit
As always, you can use some of the accessories as part of camera-related gifts for friends and family if you don’t need them. Beginners typically love accessory bundles with their gifts 🙂
The Panasonic freebie promotions move to the world of Micro Four Thirds, where the Panasonic GX85 has made a new friend! The standard Panasonic GX85 (GX eighty five) with 12-32mm is now bundled with the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150mm f/4-5.6 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. Lens, together going for $598 with free shipping and 4% promotional rewards at B&H Photo and Adorama. You can optionally file with Panasonica to triple the original warranty.
This time the Amazon price bots woke up, and Amazon itself too is offering the free 45-150 lens, in silver or black, with up to three per color for $598. If you pay with a Prime credit card or with the activated Discover Q4 Cashback promotion, you get 5% back as a statement credit.
PS: some of the Panasonic model names are easy to mistype, so as an extra verification, I am typing the model name twice, the second time in words, eg GX85 (GX eighty five) or LX10 (LX ten). This reduces the chances of typos, as the Panasonic line-up has some traps, LX10/LX100, G85/GX85/GX850, etc.
Don’t cry for me walletina! The gift certificate now matches the model number! The silver color scheme of the Panasonic LX100 is bundled with a $100 Adorama gift certificate and $24 in promotional rewards at Adorama. Meanwhile the black color scheme gets a $50 gift certificate instead. This is a RAWsumer with a “M43rds” size sensor.
The same price is available at B&H Photo with free accessories but no gift cards. At Amazon, only 3rd-party sellers offer free accessories but no gift cards.
This camera went for $800 when I posted the RAWsumer Price Charts in early November 2017.
Hold on to your wallets! The Panasonic temptations keep on coming! This time it is the new condition Panasonic LX10 (LX ten) bundled with a $80 Adorama gift certificate, and $22 promotional rewards, all together going for $548 with free shipping at Adorama. This too has a 1-inch sensor… It went for $600 without the $80 gift card when I posted the RAWsumer Price Charts in early November 2017…
No gift card at B&H Photo but you get a 32GB Sandisk Extreme SDHC and a pouch. No freebies at all at Amazon.
We have another Panasonic ZS-series bundle! This time it is the 1-inch Panasonic ZS100 with its 10x optical zoom. And there are two competing freebie bundles.
Adorama offers this bundle for $548, a $80 Adorama gift certificate, AND the Panasonic DMW-BLG10 Li-Ion Battery & Charger Travel Bundle (which as the name suggests includes a charger and a battery).
B&H Photo offers this bundle for $548: $50 B&H Photo Gift card, a 32GB Sandisk SD memory card, a camera pouch, AND the Panasonic DMW-BLG10 Li-Ion Battery & Charger Travel Bundle (which as the name suggests includes a charger and a battery).
This is available in the black or silver ZS100 color schemes. The ZS100 on its own standard retail kit goes for $548 with free shipping without the freebies by Amazon itself and other authorized dealers, so you are getting a nice set of freebies for the same price!
PS: also available is gift card bundle offer for the Panasonic FZ300 superzoom.
Don’t stop believing superzoom fans! The Panasonic FZ300 superzoom (40x optical zoom) with RAW is bundled with a $50 Adorama gift certificate and $18~ promotional rewards for $448 with free expedited shipping at Adorama! You can optionally triple the warranty by filing with Panasonic.
This goes for the same price but without a $50 house gift card at B&H Photo (with 32GB Extreme SD and bag) and by Amazon itself.
The Panasonic FZ-2500 superzoom had been getting a $100 gift certificate last week, but now the gift certificate has increased to $150 while the camera remains at $998 at Adorama. In terms of pure value, you can instead get it bundled with a Shure VP83F LensHopper Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone (this goes for $300 on its own; same offer as last week).
B&H Photo is offering a $100 e-gift card. No freebies by Amazon itself, their price-matching bots may be asleep 🙂
This camera went for $1200 when I posted the RAWsumer Price Charts in early November 2017.
PS: no free gift certificate promotion is available for the Panasonic FZ1000.
The Panasonic GH5 body only has been steadily in-stock for $2000 at authorized Panasonic dealers (thank you MAP!) in new condition, so it is also being removed from the Stock Status Tracker [update in progress], so in a new blog tradition, it too is getting a “parting shot” post. The current offers:
+ new condition grey-market with 1-Year Seller warranty from 6ave on eBAY for $1500
+ open-box from authorized dealer Samy’s Camera for $1600
+ new condition at authorized dealers for $2000 with FREE V-Log at Adorama and B&H Photo
+ optionally triple the warranty by filing with Panasonic
Amazon itself has ran out of these, but fear NOT, both Adorama and B&H Photo still have them in-stock and ready to ship. “Them” is the new condition Panasonic G85 with 12-60 and 45-200 OIS bundle for $998 with free shipping.
Multiply the camera’s name by ten, insert an “X”, and divide the price by 0.40 [I believe this is the first time ever I attempted this type of a joke ~ probably with good reason!] and you get the new condition Panasonic GX850 with the 12-32mm kit lens and free extras for $400 with free shipping at B&H Photo and Adorama and Amazon itself (no freebies but 5% cashback with Prime card or activated Discover Q4 cashback).
Another Micro Four Thirds “Take Pictures With” temptation! $400 will get you the new condition Panasonic GX850 with 12-32mm and a 32GB Sandisk EXtrEmE microSD card, a Ruggard pouch and cleaning cloth at B&H Photo in your choice of black or silver… You can optionally triple the original warranty by filing with Panasonic… This kit went for $550 when we posted the Mirrorless Price Charts…
As of a 11/281/7 PM re-check, this party’s over… The prices are up to $550…
As of a 11/281/7 PM re-check, this party’s over… The prices are up to $550…
As of 11/27/17 recheck, all used units sold out…
You can relive the superzoom history thanks to used sales! The Panasonic FZ50 superzoom (12x optical) is available in “Used – Very Good” condition with a detailed description and a couple of pictures of the actual item at Amazon Warehouse Deals. It is eligible for the 20% off in-cart discount which drops its price from $110~ to $88~, sold and shipped by Amazon Warehouse Deals itself (3rd-party sellers are not eligible for the in-cart discount).
The Panasonic FZ-2500, a 1-inch RAWzoomer with a 20x superzoom lens, something our 2007 themselves might have considered a unicorn, remains at $998 but it gains a freebie. You have a choice, at B&H Photo you get a $100 B&H e-gift card. At Adorama, you sure get a freebie [sorry, I couldn’t resist), the Shure VP83F LensHopper Microphone which goes for $300 on its own!
The Panasonic GH5 body only is holding steady at $2000, but the imported/grey-market prices have been dropping steadily, currently going for $1500 grey market as one of the eBay Black Friday features.
But the Panasonic GH4 is not only going for $898 but you have choices on which freebie to pick at B&H Photo: FREE Rode Mic or mayhaps V-LOG Activation Kit or 4% promotional rewards ($36~ in future purchases)… Amazon has it for $900, but no freeebies…
As of a 11/26/17 AM recheck, the used options have sold out….
The Panasonic FZ80 superzoom (60x optical) is on sale for $348 with free shipping at authorized dealers such as B&H Photo and Adorama and Amazon itself [corrected link]. You can optionally triple the original 1-year warranty by filing paperwork with Panasonica.
But if you are comfortable with used cameras without warranty (only a 30-day return policy), then thanks to the 20% off in-cart promotion at Amazon Warehouse Deals, you can get this camera in USED – Like New condition for $250 with free shipping after the in-cart discount. There are many listings of this, and pictures of the available cameras, so it is possible that price pressure will build on them and price will drop over time ~ other things equal, because the real world is not an Economics 101 textbook example 🙂
One of the cameras teased in the eBay BF Ads [see BF Ads Digest mega-post] is the Panasonic GH5 body only for $1500, and I think I’ve found that offer. As expected, it is imported/grey-market, offered in new condition by 6ave’s eBay store with a limit of up to three per buyer. It comes with a 1-year seller warranty.
This is a $50 drop since the last time I updated the Stock Status Tracker where the same seller offered it for $1550. The new condition price at authorized dealers remains $2000 (thank you MAP pricing).
BUT another option emerged now, KEH Camera has limited supplies in USED “LN-” (Like New Minus) condition for $1829 plus shipping. And if you buy before 12/31/17, you get a 365-warranty from KEH Camera instead of the usual 180-day. Definitely better to have a KEH warranty than an eBay seller warranty 🙂
A few days ago the option to pre-order the Panasonic G9 at Amazon disappeared, but as of the time of writing, the option to pre-order this for $1700 has returned at Amazon. I have no clue why it disappeared. AI Bots Gone Wild? 🙂
You can see how it stacks up price-wise with other mirrorless camera in last week’s Mirrorless Price Chart. Its announcement came just as I was preparing the charts. If I was a day early, it wouldn’t have made it. So sometimes being late pays off 🙂
Speaking of Panasonic, a number of their M43rds cameras, lenses and fixed lens cameras are on sale. You can find them all under the Panasonic category, or under the Mirrorless section of the Black Friday 2017 Situation Room. It looks like mayhaps they are trying to steal a march on the other camera manufacturers by rolling out their sales earlier.
We have yet another Panasonic camera that got discounted since last week. The Panasonic ZS100 superzom went for $700 last week when I posted the Fixed Lens Cameras price chart but now it is down t o $598 at authorized dealers which also include free accessories or promotional rewards such as Adorama and B&H Photo and various at Amazon.
