It may feel at times like Amazon is the only online bookseller, but they are not! Barnes and Noble is here too, and they have a new promotion at the Barnes & Noble website: for every $50 you spend, you will receive a $10 B&N store credit to spend in the future.
The promotion runs until 7/22/17 at 3am ET. On July 26, you will receive an email from B&N informing you of your promotional credit. There are no partials, so if you buy $49.99, you get $0 rewards. PSA: O’Reilly’s will no longer sell eBooks individually on their website
O’Reilly specializes in technical books and ebooks, including some camera and imaging related (eg Photoshop and LR and such). They were the vanguard of DRM-free ebooks. They are NOT going out of the ebook market, but they will stop selling ebooks individually on their website. They are instead focusing on their Netflix-style subscription service where you can read as much and as many as you want as long as you are a paying subscriber.
Existing O’Reilly purchases will continue to be available. They also have options to download and send-to-cloud your existing ebooks. They will continue to sell ebooks individually through the various online ebookstores (Kindle, etc).
