Prime Day also brought us a brand new Nikon F system stabilized lens. It is the new Nikon 70-300 f4.5-5.6E ED VR AF-P with a pre-order price of $750, available for pre-ordering at B&H Photo. So this adds even more options to the 70-300mm zoom range in the Nikon line-up, multiple with and without VR.

Refurbished Olympus SP-100 Superzoom (50x) for $187 [and more additions]
The Prime Day coupon expired at the Get Olympus store but it looks like they have some more additions, including another blast from the bast fixed lens digital camera, it is the factory reconditioned Olympus Stylus SP-100 for $187~ with free shipping. This is a 50x optical zoom, with a 90-day Olympus repair warranty, and 30-day return policy.
Some more cameras and/or lenses and/or accessories got added but I’m hazy post-PrimeDay as to which ones were not there before 🙂
There is a nice choice of Prime lenses there, and if you are not afraid of silver lenses, the factory reconditioned Olympus 45mm f1.8 goes for $200, $40 less than the black color scheme. So one could build a prime lens arsenal by going refurbished instead of buying only one or two in new condition.
PS: occasionally they drop Four Thirds (DSLR) gear in there, so if you are interested in M43rds, to be on the safe side, make sure check that the lenses you buy are “M.Zuiko”. This also serves as a memo to self to remember to check before I post 🙂

YI is taking Prime Day seriously with actual discounts, unlike many of the MAP-obsessed more famous iLC camera manufacturers. Their YI M1 with 12-40mm Micro Four Thirds camera is now on sale for $299 instead of its regular price of $350 in the silver or black color schemes by YI with the orders fulfilled by Amazon, so they are Prime eligible.
Their two other kits are also discounted (two lens kit, or with 42.5mm f1.8 instead of 12-40). The best bang for the buck is the YI M1 with 12-40mm and 45mm f1.8 for $379, so essentially $80 more gets you the 45mm f1.8 lens added to your bundle.

There are recurring offers that “bribe” you with a $10 Amazon credit to change your default Amazon credit or debit card to a specific bank and type. I’ve seen this happen with various, eg Discover and Citibank. These offers usually appear in the Shopping Cart, and also in internal ad banners while you are browsing around the Amazon website.
Especially this time of the year, it pays to keep an eye out for out of the blue offers. Some may be targeted. A lot of these offers can be “once per account”, so if you had previously taken advantage of it, you may not be eligible for it again. Or at least until they reset their counters or change how they do it 🙂
