Fuji’s serious cameras are known for their primes, but they have zoom lenses too! To further encourage photographers to give their zoom lenses a chance, Fuji is encouraging authorized dealers to include a FREE Fuji teleconverter with the purchase of the Fujifilm XF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens. The bundles sell for the same price of $1899 with free shipping.
If you don’t want the extra accessories, you can get the lens + teleconverter (of your choice) at B&H Photo for $1899 with free shipping.
A new coupon is born for AdoramaPIX. Coupon code PXADART gets you 10% off site wide (some exclusions may apply). This coupon may be usable only by existing Adorama customers only. Expires 7/23/17.
We have another Tokina lens sale, and again, the sale is restricted to only one of the options. The Nikon F mount version of the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 PRO DX-II is on sale for a limited time for $430 with free shipping at B&H Photo along with 4% promotional rewards ($17~ to be used in future B&H purchases). If you are a fan of M43rds, Tokina, and video, we have good news for you! The Tokina Cinema 11-16mm T3.0 for Micro Four Thirds is on sale for $999 with free shipping and 4% promotional rewards (around $40 to be used in future B&H purchases) at B&H Photo. Only the M43rds mount is on sale at this price.
PS: this is certified to be Tokina ~ often confuse Tamron/Tokina in these type pf posts, so this “certification” is to verify that it is indeed Tokina and not Tamron 🙂
We have a bit of a mini theme, a trio of lens adapters and converters of sorts. We start with the ones that using magic (or mayhaps science) to offer autofocusing. It is a sale on two Vello Accelerator Lens Adapters for $199 each. These allow you to connect a Nikon F or Canon EF lens to a Sony E-mount camera. Check specs and reviews and forums if you are not familiar with the trade-offs of these. This is a limited time promotion (I do not know when it expires).
The Fuji X-T2 camera is not discounted. Camera manufacturer manufacturers are very protective of their price ranges in the MAP era after all. But if you happen to want to buy both the camera and its official battery grip at the same time, four of the four Fuji X-T2 kits are bundled together with the official Fuji VPB-XT2 Vertical Power Booster Battery Grip at B&H Photo at these prices:
+ X-T2 body with Grip for $1699
+ X-T2 w/18-55 and Grip for $1999
+ X-T2 w/35mm and Grip for $1996
+ X-T2 w/18-55 and 35mm and Grip for $2296
But wait, there’s more! The first two kits mentioned above (the two standard ones) are also offered at Adorama at the same prices, BUT Adorama includes additional freebies with purchase: 32GB Lexar SD, 24/7 holster bag, Corel software bundle, lens filter kit, and a few accesso-trinkets.
It would be nice if we could have every lens we ever wanted, but reality often disagrees. Compromises such as teleconverters can be an option. The Vivitar 1.4x Teleconverter is on sale for $70 with free shipping, for a limited time, at B&H Photo in your choice of Canon EF or Nikon F.
If you are looking for web hosting for a single website/domain, BlueHost is having a 2-day Birthday Sale on their “Basic” plan. The sale is if you buy a 3-year or 5-year prepaid plan that averages to $2.65 per month. You pay the whole amount upfront. The 3-year prepaid plan is a one-time $95.40 fee, and the 5-year prepaid plan is a one-time $159 fee. Once the 3/5 years elapse, you can renew at the future current prices. It won’t renew at this sale price. Only the 3-year and 5-year plans are on sale.
I haven’t used BlueHost yet but it is at a similar level as Hostgator which I am using for the main blog. Note that BlueHost is based in Utah, so if you are planning to host any edgy or sensitive or adult material (as it pertains to the laws and regulations of the state of Utah), you may want to look for a different hosting service.
Strategically, you want to buy/register the domain at a different company from the one hosting your website, so you have more flexibility in case of technical or other issues. It’s a bit like the triple play of cable companies. The more interlinked things are, the more complicated can be to untangle them if you wish to do so later.
