Pre-order: new Panasonic GF7 w/12-32 for $600

New Year, New Cameras! Panasonic has a new M43rds camera, the GF7 with the 12-32mm lens is a 16mp camera with a price of $600, in black or pink color schemes, available for pre-orders at B&H Photo and Adorama and Amazon with a February-ish release estimate… We are keeping track of only the interesting new cameras of 2015 in this tracking post.

Corel AfterShot 2 for $30 (Windows)

The basic version of Corel’s latest AfterShot, “AfterShot 2” is going for $30 as a Windows digital download, with two bonus software titles (Winzip, FastFlick slideshow maker) at Corel’s own digital store. The more advanced version “Aftershot Pro 2” goes for $60 – click on the “AferShot 2 Family” [their typo] link above the product picture to get to it. The Pro version works on Windows, Linux and Mac, while the non-Pro only works on Windows. Olympus XZ2 returns Jan-27 but for $253

The previous Olympus XZ2 new condition price was around $213. It is now back at Amazon [corrected link] with a January 27 (2015) in-stock estimate for $253… Check Serious Fixed Lens Camera Price Charts for price reference.

Strategically, it’s the same thing as usual: if you need it now vs if you don’t need it now. In the future, there will be more cameras and more discounts and more sales and more options (other things equal).

Deal Follow-Up: Amazon Camera Gift Card promotional credit expires 1/31/15 or 2/7/15
