Amazon has different kinds of coupons. They have classic coupons that you have to type in the shopping cart, but they also have CLIP-ON COUPONS. You don’t have to type these, you simply click to virtually clip the coupons. This adds the coupon to your Amazon account, so if or when you buy an eligible product, while the coupon promotion is running, you will automatically get the discount.
One of the items that currently has a clip-on coupon is the Dolica GX650B204 Proline GX Series 65 inch Aluminum Tripod and Ball Head Combo. It goes for the very specific price of $62.55. After the $5 off clip-on coupon, it drops to $57.55 with free shipping.
The tripod goes for $55 at Adorama, however, Adorama has mandatory shipping that starts at $9~, so unless you have a way to get free shipping at Adorama, the total price is higher.

Getting close enough in price, if you clip the “Clip Coupon & Save” $5 off coupon at Amazon by Amazon itself [corrected link], you can get it for $65 with free shipping. The coupon only works if Amazon itself is the seller, not 3rd-party sellers.
The 60-inch Dolica LA600 Pro aluminum alloy tripod with ballhead, traveler edition, is currently on sale for $70 with free shipping at Groupon Goods. This is sold on the Groupon website but the seller is Dolica (same way Amazon, NewEgg, Sears, etc have 3rd-party sellers on their website). This is a final sale (no returns). US continental states only. No PO Boxes. Not eligible for coupon codes. Which is why there is no place to enter the previously mentioned coupon code after you add it to the Groupon shopping cart – I am no Sherlock Homes – it took me a couple of minutes to put the two together 🙂
