Nikon D500 Body + FREE MB-D17 Battery Grip for $1800

The Nikon D500 dropped $100 since our previous check, but not only that, it gained a new friend, the Nikon MB-D17 battery grip for FREE! So $1800 gets you the D7200 body only with said MB-D17 battery grip and freebies that vary by retailer. This time Amazon is offering freebies (128GB Samsung EVO green microSD, bag), along with Adorama and B&H Photo offering their own sets of freebies.

The same promotion is also available for the D500 with 16-80mm kit which goes for $2400. It is interlinked in the listings of all the above retailers.

Nikon D7200 body only drops to $797

The Nikon D7500 body only remains at $1250, but having the previous generation model around gave Nikon the flexibility to create a discount since their prices were artificially too close to begin with. To cut a long story short, the Nikon D7200 body only dropped from $1000 to $800 since ten days ago. The other kits get parallel discounts. I don’t mention them all because it would take forever to do these posts.

So the $800 price, or $797 to be more specific, is available by Amazon itself (5% back with Prime VISA, or Discover Q4 cashback; I won’t repeat these in every post because it will take forever to post anything!) and Adorama (with freebies) and B&H Photo (with freebies).

“Nikon Df: The Expanded Guide” for $12 [paperback]

Back to the Gold Box we go where Nikon Df fans (or Df-curious photographers) can get the paperback edition of the “Nikon Df (Expanded Guides)” by Jon Snow (oops, Jon Sparks) for $12.29, with free Prime shipping or with a $25+ order.

This has 240 pages, and it has “Look Inside” activated, so when you click on the main picture in the gallery, it will take you on a wild ride inside the book. This is handy because you can jump all over the book, it can give you a much better feel for the book than just the first few pages that we get with the Kindle sample.

Offer ends on Saturday at 2:45am ET or earlier if sold out.

Rokinon 24, 35, 50, 85mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens Bundle for $1649

That’s $412.50 per lens 🙂

PS: there are many and more things to post, I really wish I was IBM’s Watson 🙂

New Offer for Nikon D750 kits: FREE MB-D16 Battery Grip, $80 Hiker Backpack and 128GB Samsung EVO microSD

Last night when I posted the Nikon D750 Free Battery Grip promotions, Amazon’s humans, hybrids, and bots were asleep and did not have their own offers running.

But as of this recheck, Amazon created its own bundle, it’s a nice one, you get a FREE $80 AmazonBasics Hiker Camera and Laptop Backpack (link is for reference only; you don’t add it to shopping cart separately), and a 128GB Samsung EVO Select microSD (with matching SD adapter included), along of course with the Nikon MB-D16 Multi Battery Power Pack/Grip for D750.

So the bundles are, the Nikon D750 body only with the MB-D16 battery grip, AB Hiker Backpack and 128GB Samsung EVO microSD for $1500 or the Nikon D750 with 24-120 with the same three freebies for $2000.

All items will be included in the shopping cart automatically and priced accordingly. Amazon finally figured out how to do consumer-friendly bundles 🙂

If you pay with an Amazon Chase Prime VISA credit card, or the Amazon house store credit card, you get 5% back as a statement credit, which is a pretty nice amount considering the price of the cameras, $75 for the body only or $100 for the “with 24-120”.

If you are not a Prime member, but you have the Amazon Chase VISA credit card, you get 3% back as a statement credit, still a solid $45 or $60. Or if you have a Discover credit card, they are running 5% caskback promotions for Q4 of 2017. Note however that the maximum is $1500 per credit card for the quarter (October 1st until December 31st).

I suppose that’s one of the benefits of Amazon having its own brands of products like AmazonBasics, they can bundle them up as they please.

Adorama has all three options in-stock and orderable for $399 with $16 promotional rewards but no free Hoya lens filter.

Speaking of Adorama and lenses, here’s a blended list of 840+ lenses that currently have various promotions on them.

New Lens Instant Savings: Fuji, Tokina, Nikon, Canon, Zeiss

A number of new lens instant savings promotions are running at the moment! You can find them nicely organized at Adorama as follows:

+ Fuji X System: 58 options

+ Tokina (mostly Canon and Nikon): 17 options

+ Canon EF/EF-S lenses: 38 lenses and three flashes

+ Nikon F lenses: 9 options

+ Zeiss Batis and Loxia: 8 options

+ Panasonic M43 Lenses: 31 options

BUT that’s not all! There’s more instant savings from other manufacturers as well, rounded up separately: Pentax, Olympus, Rokinon, Samyang and of course Shiguma (Sigma).

Refurbished Nikon D5600 w/18-55 for $599

Good until 11/15/17 (or earlier if sold out), BuyDig is offering the manufacturer refurbished Nikon D5600 with 18-55 AF-P DX VR for $599 with free shipping and the usual 90-day Nikon refurbished warranty.

The new condition version of this kit goes for $750, so you are saving $150 by going refurbished. For a refresher on APS-C camera price ranges, check this week’s all new APS-C DSLRs Price Chart.

5% off 18 Zeiss Lenses with coupon (E/C/N]

Good until 11/22/17, coupon code ZEISS5 (ZEISS and the number 5) get you 5% off eighteen Zeiss lenses at BuyDig. Options include lenses from the Batis, Loxia, and Otus lines. Most of them are Sony E-mount, with the rest Nikon F and Canon EF.

YMMV: $100 off the Nikon D850 IF You Apply and Get Approved for the Amazon Rewards VISA card

This is a YMMV promotion as Amazon’s AI bots have a mind of their own!!!

While checking the Nikon D850 stock status at Amazon I noticed a promotion that offers you a $100 discount IF you apply for an Amazon Rewards VISA credit card (by Chase) and Get Approved for it, and use the new card to pay the Nikon D850 [which remains in “Temporarily Out of Stock” status]. You don’t have to be a Prime member for this offer.

To see this offer however you may have to be logged on to your Amazon account, and NOT have an Amazon Rewards VISA card (by Chase). I only saw this offer on the non-Prime Amazon account I use to check prices/offers for non-Prime members. My Prime account (already has the Amazon Rewards VISA) was not offered this. Looking at the page without being logged on to an Amazon account also did not show the offer.

So this is a big YMMV.

If you are eligible for this offer, it looks like this [screenshot below]:

This has to be sold and shipped by Amazon itself, not 3rd-party sellers.

Non-Prime members get 3% credit cards rewards on Amazon purchases with the Amazon Rewards VISA, while Prime members get 5%. This is another one of the many Prime Benefits.

Tamron SP 150-600mm f5-6.3 Di VC USD for $799 [C/N, A [no VC])

Big zoom action now, B&H Photo is offering for a limited time the new condition Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens for $799 with free expedited shipping in the Canon and Nikon DSLR systems, and without VC (optical image stabilization) for the Sony A system.

No coupons, no rebates, this is a straight up sale, add to cart and proceed to checkout!

Nikon D850 body goes in TOOS status!

Breaking!!! The Nikon D850 body only is currently in “Temporarily out of stock” (TOOS) status at Amazon by Amazon itself. Limit three per customer… Previously the estimate was “2-4 months”, so that’s an improvement…

“TOOS” is an all-encompassing thing, so it’s hard to tell when you’ll get it…

All the options at the Amazon listing are in “TOOS”, which makes sense, since these are just DSLR + Lens sold by Amazon, they are not official Nikon kits, so basically once you have the DSLR, you have all the other combos as well [unless any of those lenses are unavailable].

B&H Photo remains in pre-order status, and Adorama in backorder status.

The eBay Search Results continue to be filled with sellers charging A LOT more. If you hate this practice, make a note of their names and never buy from them 🙂

The Stock Status Tracker has been updated, and the Nikon D850 listing moved to the top. For the reasons explained above, I’m not creating additional entries for the D850 + Lens combos since they all depend on the D850 body only stock status.

Thursday FREE to Watch: Nikon D7500 Fast Start Class, Photo Week 2017 reruns continue

Per the On-AIR Schedule at Creative LIVE, FREE to watch, re-running today, until 12pm ET on Friday will be the Nikon D7500 Fast Start Class with John Greego. Since this is a re-run, it will repeat throughout the night until its expiration Friday AM.

Continuing until November 6 is a free to watch repeat of the Photo Week 2017 which has two parallel channels of online classes. These repeat throughout the night.

Starts 12pm ET Today: FREE to Watch Nikon D7500 Fast Start Online Class World Premiere [also: Canon 6D II rerun]

We have another “world premiere”, a new class recording LIVE today, starting at 12pm eastern (Tuesday 10/31/17), you can watch LIVE and for FREE, with John Greengo, it is the Nikon D7500 Fast Start class. This is the latest Nikon APS-C model, and it is in-stock and shipping [see Stock Status Tracker].

But that’s not all! If you missed yesterday’s Canon EOS 6D Mark II Fast Start class, it will be re-running today for FREE starting at 12pm ET.

You can find future classes scheduled to stream for FREE at the Creative LIVE On-Air Schedule. Classes with that yellow LIVE tag means they are recording for the first time on that date, a world premiere. Classes without that tag means they are rebroadcasts. The classes you see on that schedule are free to watch on the days they are listed under.

PS: the correct name of these classes is “Fast Start” but I often call them “Fast Track”. I cannot easily unwire my brain, so this is a known error 🙂
