LIVE NOW: Nikon D850 World Premiere Online Class

I knew there was something I forgot! Today is the world premiere of the Nikon D850 Fast Start class at Creative LIVE ON-AIR. After the recording ends in the afternoon, the stream will be repeating overnight until typically 12pm ET tomorrow morning. Or longer if the stream will rebroadcast on Thursday as well.

The DSLR itself continues to be not in-stock. For the latest updates on that, check the Stock Status Tracker. If there are any other new cameras or lenses you’d like to see there, please leave a comment or use the online contact form.

(ENDED) Thursday Free to Watch: Nikon D850 Class at CL

This promotional free-stream ended… It made its world premiere yesterday, but this class is now in reruns, FREE to Watch until Friday morning. “This” refers to the Nikon D850 Fast Start class by John Greego at Creative Live (CL).

For all other free-running classes, check their Creative LIVE ON-AIR, a way to stream video and learn at the same time! Instead of un-learn by watching TV 🙂

Nikon D5600 with 18-55 and 70-300 for $800 [corrected]

CORRECTION: the lens in the two lens kit is the 70-300mm DX, not the old 75-300. I typed 75-300 in every single mention below out of habit 🙂 Thanks to one of our readers for the alert in the comments!

On the “Take Pictures With” two-lens kit front, the new condition Nikon D5600 with the 18-55 and 70-300 lenses is on sale for $797 with free shipping at authorized dealers such as Adorama (with free accessories) and B&H Photo (with free accessories) and Amazon itself (limit 3).

The D5600 body only goes for $650, while the D5600 w/18-55 goes for $750. So you are getting the 70-300 for an extra $50 versus the standard 1-lens kit. This being the holiday season, even if you don’t need the 18-55 and 70-300 for yourself, you can use them in a gift bundle for friends and family, eg bundle them with a Nikon DSLR you don’t need or use often.

The D5600 body only went for $650 in early November as well when I posted the APS-C DSLR price charts.

If you don’t need the new condition version though, you can wait for another manufacturer refurbished sale. It went for $620 at least a couple of times in the past.

PRO TIP: the new WordPress search engine is very fast and efficient, so if you want to look up favorite brands or see previous deals on cameras, use the search box in the blog header or sidebar! It even picks up new posts in almost real time!

The new condition Nikon D3400 two-lens kit with the 18-55 DX VR and 70-300 DX non-VR goes for $500 at authorized dealers with a variety of different freebies offered at each retailer, such as Amazon by Amazon itself (with extras including a 60 inch AB tripod) and Adorama (with extras) and B&H Photo (with extras) and BuyDIG (with extras).

Nikon D850 re-listed at Amazon, still TOOS

The Nikon D850 listings (option to pre-order from Amazon itself) disappeared last night at the Amazon website but as of the time of writing, they are pre-orderable again, in the all-encompassing and all-mysterious “temporarily out of stock” status.

The D850 remains in Pre-Order status at B&H Photo and in “Coming Soon” at Adorama.

Free Battery Grips with D500, D750, D810; Free $80 Rewards with 24-70/2.8E for $2197, Etc

There are plenty of Nikon Sales at B&H Photo, including the professional Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Lens for $2197 with free expedited shipping and 4% promotional rewards which are about $88 to be spent in future purchases at B&H.

A variety of DSLRs and lenses are participating, including the free battery grip promotions for the Nikon D500 kits and the Nikon D810 kits and the Nikon D750 kits.

No free battery grip for the D850. I suspect some photographers would be willing to give Nikon a battery grip for a chance to get the D850 🙂 Speaking of the D850, I just rechecked, it remains in pre-order/backorder at B&H and Adorama, and at the all-encompassing and all-frustrating when you are waiting for a new camera to arrive “temporarily out of stock” at Amazon.

Nikon D500 Body + FREE MB-D17 Battery Grip for $1800

The Nikon D500 dropped $100 since our previous check, but not only that, it gained a new friend, the Nikon MB-D17 battery grip for FREE! So $1800 gets you the D7200 body only with said MB-D17 battery grip and freebies that vary by retailer. This time Amazon is offering freebies (128GB Samsung EVO green microSD, bag), along with Adorama and B&H Photo offering their own sets of freebies.

The same promotion is also available for the D500 with 16-80mm kit which goes for $2400. It is interlinked in the listings of all the above retailers.

Nikon D7200 body only drops to $797

The Nikon D7500 body only remains at $1250, but having the previous generation model around gave Nikon the flexibility to create a discount since their prices were artificially too close to begin with. To cut a long story short, the Nikon D7200 body only dropped from $1000 to $800 since ten days ago. The other kits get parallel discounts. I don’t mention them all because it would take forever to do these posts.

So the $800 price, or $797 to be more specific, is available by Amazon itself (5% back with Prime VISA, or Discover Q4 cashback; I won’t repeat these in every post because it will take forever to post anything!) and Adorama (with freebies) and B&H Photo (with freebies).

“Nikon Df: The Expanded Guide” for $12 [paperback]

Back to the Gold Box we go where Nikon Df fans (or Df-curious photographers) can get the paperback edition of the “Nikon Df (Expanded Guides)” by Jon Snow (oops, Jon Sparks) for $12.29, with free Prime shipping or with a $25+ order.

This has 240 pages, and it has “Look Inside” activated, so when you click on the main picture in the gallery, it will take you on a wild ride inside the book. This is handy because you can jump all over the book, it can give you a much better feel for the book than just the first few pages that we get with the Kindle sample.

Offer ends on Saturday at 2:45am ET or earlier if sold out.

New Offer for Nikon D750 kits: FREE MB-D16 Battery Grip, $80 Hiker Backpack and 128GB Samsung EVO microSD

Last night when I posted the Nikon D750 Free Battery Grip promotions, Amazon’s humans, hybrids, and bots were asleep and did not have their own offers running.

But as of this recheck, Amazon created its own bundle, it’s a nice one, you get a FREE $80 AmazonBasics Hiker Camera and Laptop Backpack (link is for reference only; you don’t add it to shopping cart separately), and a 128GB Samsung EVO Select microSD (with matching SD adapter included), along of course with the Nikon MB-D16 Multi Battery Power Pack/Grip for D750.

So the bundles are, the Nikon D750 body only with the MB-D16 battery grip, AB Hiker Backpack and 128GB Samsung EVO microSD for $1500 or the Nikon D750 with 24-120 with the same three freebies for $2000.

All items will be included in the shopping cart automatically and priced accordingly. Amazon finally figured out how to do consumer-friendly bundles 🙂

If you pay with an Amazon Chase Prime VISA credit card, or the Amazon house store credit card, you get 5% back as a statement credit, which is a pretty nice amount considering the price of the cameras, $75 for the body only or $100 for the “with 24-120”.

If you are not a Prime member, but you have the Amazon Chase VISA credit card, you get 3% back as a statement credit, still a solid $45 or $60. Or if you have a Discover credit card, they are running 5% caskback promotions for Q4 of 2017. Note however that the maximum is $1500 per credit card for the quarter (October 1st until December 31st).

I suppose that’s one of the benefits of Amazon having its own brands of products like AmazonBasics, they can bundle them up as they please.
