Stock Update: IN (Canon 5D Mark IV, G7X II), OUT (Fuji X-T2)

As of a 9/17/16 1:27pm ET update of the Stock Status Tracker, all Fuji X-T2 kits are out of stock, while the Canon 5D Mark IV and G7 X II remain at multiple retailers. Meanwhile the Sony RX10 III remained in-stock steadily for many days in a row, so it has now been removed from the Tracker…

With this latest Stock Status update, we have more Canon 5D Mark IV options, including the body only option now in-stock with free 2-day shipping for $3500 at Adorama. Meanwhile the Fuji X-T2 is going in the other direction, the only in-stock option as of this update is the X-T2 body only by Unique Photo via Amazon for $1600.

Weekend Magazine Sale: Multi-Year Discounts, 3-YRS Pop Photo or Outdoor Pho for $13 per Magazine

The weekend is here and so is a new Weekend Sale at Discount Mags. Their weekend sales now end on Monday night instead of Sunday night. The theme of this sale is multi-year discounts, the more years you sign-up, the bigger the discount. For example, 3-years of Pop Photo are $13, 2-years are $9, 1-year is $5. So you get the better price per year if you sign up for three years. Digital Photo and Outdoor Photographer have similar prices, while Digital Photo PRO is 3-years for $25. These are printed magazines delivered to your front door. You can sign-up as a new subscriber, or renew an existing subscription or buy it as a gift for someone else. These options are individually adjustable per magazine.

If you prefer digital magazines, the Zinio coupon promotion of 40% off with coupon FRESH40 expires Monday night as well. They have a lot more Photography Magazines including many international titles [see earlier post for more on this]

For many Canon fans, the 75-300mm lens being non-IS non-USM in the digital era sticks out like a sore thumb, but at that price, Canon will probably not offer an IS lens. But they have a new IS lens in this ballpark range, the new EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS II USM lens, available for pre-order for $550 at Amazon itself and Adorama and B&H Photo. Pre-order new Canon M5 Mirrorless for $980

Some thought the day would never come, but here it is, a more serious Canon mirrorless camera, the brand new Canon EOS M5 mirrorless camera available in three official kits: body only for $980, with 15-45 for $1100 and with 18-150 for $1480. Pre-orders of these three are available at Amazon and Adorama and B&H Photo. 40% off Digital Magazines with coupon (many photography options)

Digital magazine seller Zinio has a new coupon promotion, coupon code FRESH40 gets you 40% off almost all the magazines they carry. The sale is good until 9/19/16. Use the search bar to look for magazines of interest, the ones shown on the aforelinked page are just a subset of what’s eligible. This is a link the Photography Category.

These are digital magazines that you can read using the Zinio website (eg desktops/laptops) along with their iOS and Android and Windows Metro app. This type of a sale is great for international photography magazines whose shipping fees make them too expensive for a physical subscription. The mainstream US photo magazines (Pop, Outdoor, etc) are more expensive at Zinio (even with the coupon) than the weekend DicsountMags physical magazine sales.

To test the coupons, you need a Zinio account and a credit card on file. Here’s an example of 1-Year Amateur Photographer UK subscription (51 digital issues), the price drops from $88~ to $53~ after you enter the coupon (screenshot below):

As of 2:50pm ET, Murphy’s Camera too sold out, the closest at Amazon is a September 18 shipping estimate from Amazon itself…

These fly fast. As of 2:45pm ET, the listing from Amazon itself is now out of stock with a September 18, 2016 shipping estimate, but 3rd-party seller Murphy’s Camera (authorized dealer) has it in-stock for $3500 with a September 22-29 if you choose the standard shipping option (this is not Prime eligible, it ships directly from Murphy’s).

IF you had been waiting to get the Canon 5D Mark IV Body Only from Amazon itself, it has arrived. As of the time of writing it in-stock and ready to ship for $3500 with a limit of three per customer during these early release days.
