If you are looking to buy camera and photo apps or ebooks (or anything else) from iTunes, there is a 30% promotion for Plenti rewards members running at Rite Aid until the close of business on Saturday 2/13/16. You get 300 Plenti Points back with a $10 iTunes Gift Card purchase. 300 points can get you $3 off future purchases at Rite Aid or other places participating in AMEX’s Plenti rewards. Limit two per customer during this week.
If you were about to pull the trigger on the Sony a7R II body only from an authorized dealer, B&H Photo is sweetening the pie a little bit by including a FREE $200 B&H Photo Gift Card with your order. Look for the tab with the “Free $200 Gift Card” sign on it at the B&H Photo Product Page.
If you want to get low-friction discounted iTunes Gift Cards, for the week of January 17-23 at Staples Brick and Mortar stores, you can get 20% off on the $50 and $100 iTunes Gift Cards. So you would be paying $40 and $80 respectively. There’s no coupon, no rebate, the gift cards will be discounted automatically by their system. This is not the lowest percentage (can find 25% or 30% if you can wait), but it’s fairly convenient if you happen to be nearby a Staples store.

eBay is getting a little stingier with their percentage, but if you are a regular eBay shopper, paying less is still better than paying full price… Among the latest eBay Deals, you Pay $195, Get $200 eBay Gift Card via email with a limit one of per customer. This may last longer than the $95/$100 offers since the percentage discount is 2.5% (instead of 5%) and the purchase amount is double. Still, already over 4300 e-gift cards got sold so far from this listing according to the statistics over there.

Strategically, now is a good time to do this if you have a Chase or Discover credit card. Their Q4 rewards (if you opted in and are below the $1500 quarterly maximum) give you 5% to 10% back on Amazon purchases until 12/31/15.

The $5 promotional credit email arrived 12 minutes after I placed the order. The $5 promotional credit won’t be added to your gift card balance, but will be added to your promotional credit account. You can see that by going to any Instant Video available for purchase and clicking “More Purchase Options” and then clicking “Redeem a gift card or promotion code”. The $5 was added after I received the email. It was not there before. Then if you place a qualifying order, the $5 promotional will be automatically applied to your purchase. UPDATE 12/21/15: The $20 Best Buy gift card remains in your account (stored on Google’s servers) even after you uninstall Android Pay. If you re-install Android Pay, it is right there. You may have some flexibility in the PIN entry by adjusting how quickly the lockscreen activates after you press the power button or the screen doses off. This is YMMV depending on your phone and OS version.

I became a guinea pig for this promotion we mentioned earlier this week: if you have a Nexus device and install and use Android Pay on it by 12/31/15, you will receive a $20 Best Buy electronic gift card in your Android Pay account.
I did this earlier this the week, and the e-gift card arrived the following day. I did not count the number of hours in-between, but my first Android Pay transaction happened on 12/16 and the gift card was in my Android Pay account on 12/17. Cropped screenshot below – it has a PIN and bar code which I won’t post 🙂
Android Pay requires a lockscreen PIN for your phone or other approved locking mechanism. And NFC turned on. If you remove the lockscreen PIN (or the locking mechanism), Android Pay automatically removes your credit card(s) from your Android Pay account. Kinda rude but they are erring on the side of financial security.
Since there is no way (as far as I can tell) to access Android Pay transactions with a web browser, once you receive the $20 Best Buy eGift Card, you may want to take a screenshot of the number and PIN to make sure you don’t lose it later.
NOTE: I did this using only one phone. I do not know what happens if you have two or more phones using the same Google account with Android Pay activated on both.
If you are part of the Adorama emailing list, they have emailed a new promotion, Purchase an Adorama Gift Card and receive a coupon to be used in a future purchase by 12/31/15. The coupon depends on the gift card amount. A $100 gift card gets you a $5 off coupon. A $250 gift card gets you a $20 off coupon, and a $500 gift card gets you a $50 off coupon. The coupons must be used by 12/31/15… I haven’t done this promotion so I don’t know how it works…
To the eBay Deals where PayPal’s Digital Gifts e-store is offering $100 Sears Gift Cards via E-Mail for $85. Limit one per customer. This is a limited time offer. Already over 5200 of these got sold.
Sears sells cameras of their own, but on their website they also feature a number of other 3rd-party camera sellers (Adorama, Cameta, Beach Camera, etc).
The Panasonic GH4 body only currently goes for $1500 at authorized dealers. They can’t discount, but they can offer more freebies with it. At the moment, B&H Photo includes a $200 B&H Photo Gift Card with it, along with 4% promotional rewards, which is a decent amount, because, according to my abacus, 4% of $1500 = $60 in promotional rewards. So you have $260~ to spend in future B&H purchases… The freebies do not end there, you also get a free digital download of the ON1 Effects 10 software, and if you don’t hate mail-in rebates with an unparalleled passion, you can triple the original warranty from Panasonic via mail-in rebate.

It is back again at the eBay Deals. It is not a glamorous deal but it’s a utilitarian 5% off! It is the return of Pay $95, Get $100 eBay Gift Card via email with a limit one of per customer. These don’t last long, but they return every few days/weeks.
Amazon is expanding in all directions. One of their areas of expansion are Home Services that include everything from technology (printer setup, smartphone related, backups, virus removals, etc) to home improvement to car services to electrical work to home theater to equipment assembly and more. During the holidays, good until December 4, if you book a $75+ service, you will receive a $30 Amazon Gift Card via email in about 3 weeks after the paid service is completed. Just in time for the holiday shopping season, B&H Photo now has e-mailable Gift Cards, with preset amounts ranging from $20 to $250. You can optionally leave a personal message and also pick from 11 different e-designs.
Good until Saturday 11/21/15, at Rite Aid stores, if you are participating in the Plenti rewards program, you can get 1000 Plenti points (= $10 equivalent) if you purchase a $50 Best Buy Gift Card. A lot of specialty camera retailers sell through the Sears website (similar to Amazon, NewEgg, Best Buy, Walmart, Racoonten, etc), while Staples is increasing their high-tech online inventory and offers a variety of photo prints. Skype is ever-increasingly becoming a professional tool, one way to interact with potential or existing clients remotely… Okay, enough talk, here they are:

For the early season shoppers, Best Buy is planning to have a brick and mortar sale-a-bration on Saturday November 7 (2015) between 1-5pm local time at their stores. Some of the offers are teased on their website and include a $30 Best Buy Gift Card with the purchase of a Sony a5100 or a5000 kit, and a $40 Best Buy Gift card with the purchase of a GoPro Hero4 Session or Hero+ LCD action camera.
