2% Bonus if you reload $100+ Amazon Gift Card Balance with Checking Account

If you like to pay for Amazon purchases with a checking account instead of a credit card, Amazon is currently running another reload promotion, reload $100+ to your default Amazon Gift Card Balance with a checking account, and receive 2% of that amount as a bonus. The details are over there.

NOTE however that if you like to use credit cards as well, for the 4th quarter of 2016 (until 12/31/16), Discover offers 5% cashback (on up to $1500 per account for the quarter) on Amazon purchases. You have to first activate the offer in your Discover account. Buy $50 Best Buy Gift Card, Get $8 equivalent back in Plenti points (16% effective discount)

If you are a fan of Best Buy, and you are participating in the Plenti rewards program, and you have a Rite Aid store near you, we have good news for you. Until the close of business on Saturday 11/19/16, when you buy a $50 Best Buy plastic gift card at the Rite Aid brick and mortar stores, and show them your Plenti rewards card (or use your phone number to tag the purchase at the register), you will receive 800 Plenti points ($8 buying power to use in future purchases). You can spend your 800 points the morning after your purchase, so you don’t have to wait like a rebate. The points are good for 2+ years in your account, they don’t expire quickly. You also get instant confirmation on the cash register receipt that your purchase qualified. This offer is limit two during this particular week (Sunday AM to Saturday PM). Assuming you’ll have no problem spending the future Plenti points on things you want/need, this is a virtual 16% off discount on the gift cards.

$5 Amazon Gift Card with select Alexa Voice purchases

Black Friday 2016 is just 3.5 weeks away (yes, that’s right!), and retailers are ramping up their offers. It’s a good time to stock up on store credits and bonuses with these type of offers. In addition to the previously mentioned Amazon Gift Card Reload promotion, Amazon also has a $5 bonus for Alexa Shoppers. If you make an Alexa Voice purchase from a list of participating items, you will receive a $5 Amazon gift card for boldly going. The offer ends 11/18/16 or after 25,000 redemptions; whichever happens first. I don’t have an Alexa, so I can’t test this, so YMMV. Details at the aforelinked page.

$5 Reward with $100+ Amazon Gift Card Balance Reload [Once lifetime Per Account]

While preparing Monday’s Lightning Deals schedule, the Amazon pages kept showing the gift card reload offer, so this is a good time to mention it again. NOTE however that this only works once for the lifetime of an Amazon account, so if you did this before, you can’t do it again. You can tell if you are eligible if you are logged on to your Amazon account and visit the Reload Promotional page. The offer is this: reload $100 or more to your Amazon Gift Card Balance, and get a $5 Amazon store bonus to use in future purchase. So it’s like a 5% discount (on a $100 reload).

Here are two screenshots of what you’ll see:

A 15% off discount is not the lowest ever, but if you happen to need iTunes store credit right now, it’s better than full price.

YMMV $5 Bonus on $100+ Amazon Gift Card Reload (once per customer)

This is a YMMV and from what I can tell, this only works once per Amazon account for the lifetime of that account. If you reload $100 or more on an Amazon Gift Card (including the virtual “default” gift card on your Amazon account), you will receive a $5 bonus. Details and terms and conditions of the promotion can be found at the promotional page. To figure out if you are eligible, visit the page while being logged on with your Amazon account. If you just want to read the terms and conditions, you don’t need to be logged in.

This offer may also be promoted on product pages, but just because you see it there, it doesn’t necessarily mean you are eligible. The “Learn More” link in the screenshot below is the page linked-to in the first paragraph above:

Load Amazon Gift Card Balance with $100+, Get $5 Bonus [First Time Users Only]

This promotion is only good once per Amazon account, so if you previously took advantage of it, you will not be eligible. If you are eligible, you will see the offer at the promotional Amazon page. If you are not eligible, you will see a message like “Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this offer”. The offer is this: you load $100 or more in your own Amazon Gift Card Balance account, and you receive a $5 bonus for it. I did this in the past, so I can’t do it again, I saw the above message.

PayPal update: Gift Cards not eligible for PayPal Seller Protection after June 25

Good old PayPal, sending emails of Policy Changes on Saturday night, like politicians trying to keep a scandal under the radar. The new terms will take effect on June 25 in 2016. Of note, gift cards will not longer be covered by PayPal Seller protection. This could potentially affect the availability and prices of gift cards if sellers don’t have as much protection. The future will tell how this will impact things.
