Canon SL1 with 18-55 IS STM and Pixma Pro 100 and Extras for $450 after $350 MIR

The Canon SL1 was one of Canon’s attempts to triangulate mirrorless to the DSLR level (I don’t even know what I mean with this sentence, but it sounds like insightful analysis), and that is also participating in the Canon-Pixma-MIR promotions. You get the black Canon SL1 with the 18-55 IS STM lens, the Pixma PRO 100 printer, 50pk 13×19″ Canon photo paper, 32GB Sandisk Ultra SDHC, and Shoulder Camera Bag for $450 after $350 mail-in rebate (in the form of a prepaid American Express Gift Card). At authorized dealers, this kit goes for $750, but you can also get a variety of extra free accessories and promotional rewards such as Adorama (includes Corel imaging software bundle) and B&H Photo and Amazon.

Another option if buying from authorized dealers, $800 gets you the Video Creator Kit which includes the T6i with 18-55 IS STM but also a Rodeo VideoMic microphone and a 32GB Sandisk SD card, and free accessories from various retailers such as Amazon itself and Adorama (includes Corel imaging software bundle) and B&H Photo.

Yet another option from authorized dealers, but this one is more involved, is you can get the T6i with 18-55 IS STM, and Pixma Pro 100 printer and 50pk 13×19″ Canon photo paper and extras for $650 after a $350 mail-in rebate (prepaid American Express Gift Card) at B&H Photo and Adorama.

If you are going the Pixma-MIR route, you can get the same promotion but with the 18-135mm IS STM lens (instead of the 18-55) for $150 more, $800 after a $350 MIR (prepaid AMEX GC) at Adorama and B&H Photo.

You get two batteries for $14. They ship from Illinois. Limit 50 per customer. The eBay listing says these come with a 3-year warranty and they ship fast (“24H dispatch”). Over 700 units got sold so far from this listing per the stats over there. There are multiple pictures of the batteries in the eBay listing. As usual with 3rd-party batteries, this depends on your risk and comfort level, warranty situation of your camera, and things of that nature. We blog, you decide and deride 🙂

Tamron 35/1.8 Di VC USD + $60 rewards for $600 [C/N]

B&H Photo is offering 10% promotional rewards on a handful of lenses from various manufacturers. You can find them below or by perusing the Rewards or Lens Deals archives here.

We start as with all photography, with a prime lens. The Tamron SP 35mm f1.8 Di VC USD with 10% promotional rewards ($60~) is available for $600 in the Canon and Nikon SLR mounts at B&H Photo. This lens does not have a mail-in rebate. The promotional rewards can be used on future B&H Photo purchases.

NOTE: the Sony Alpha version (not stabilized/VC) is NOT available for purchase yet, so it is not participating in the promotion, since you can’t buy it, and the promotion is 10% of the purchase price. There is no release estimate for it as of the time of writing. [the other participating Tamron lenses are available in the Sony-Alpha mount however, unlike the Canon/Nikon versions, the Sony-Alpha-Minolta are not VC/stabilized].

Tamron 16-300mm f3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD macro + $63 Rewards for $500 after $130 mail-in rebate [C/N/A]

We continue to Tamronize (yes, it’s a verb!), this time we have something for unapologetic superzoom fans, the Tamron 16-300mm f3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO is $500 after a $130 mail-in rebate and comes with 10% promotional rewards (=$63~) at B&H Photo and available in the Canon SLR mount and Nikon SLR mount and Sony Alpha Minolta SLR mount (not stabilized/VC).

Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD + $130 Rewards for $1200 after $100 MIR [C/N/A]

In addition to the 70-200mm f2.8, the Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 Di VC USD is also participating in the 10% promotional rewards at B&H Photo. It is $1200 after a $100 mail-in rebate and you also get 10% promotional rewards ($130~). It is available in the Canon SLR mount and Nikon SLR mount and Sony-Minolta SLR mount (not VC).

Note that the 10% promotional rewards offers are limited time offers, but I don’t know the exact expiration date. The mail-in rebates have their own expiration date (2/29/16).

Tamron SP 70-200mm f2.8 Di VC USD Zoom Lens + $150 Rewards for $1400 after $100 MIR (C/N/A)

The Tamron SP 70-200mm f2.8 Di VC USD Zoom Lens is also participating in the B&H Photo 10% Rewards promotion. You pay $1500 with free shipping, which goes down to $1400 after a $100 mail-in rebate (MIR). You also get 10% promotional rewards (=$150~) to be used on a future purchase (I am assuming the reward is on the purchase price but I could be wrong)… This offer is available in the Canon SLR mount and the Nikon SLR mount.

UPDATE: this offer is also available for the Sony Alpha SLR mount but the Alpha version is not a stabilized (VC) lens.

Tamron 150-600mm f5-6.3 Di VC USD + $107 Rewards for $950 after $120 MIR (C/N/A)

We have a bit of a Sigma vs Tamron 150-600mm Reward duel, because B&H Photo is also offering 10% rewards ($107~) on the Tamron SP 150-600mm f5-6.3 Di VC USD. The lens goes for $1069 with free shipping, but thanks to a $120 mail-in rebate, you can get it for $950 after $120 MIR. As far as I can tell, the 10% reward is on the purchase price ($1069) not the after-rebate-price ($950), but I could be wrong.

This offer is available in the Canon SLR mount and the Nikon SLR mount and Sony Alpha Minolta SLR mount (not stabilized/VC).

Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports + $180 Rewards for $1800 (C/N/Si)

This offer is available in the Canon, Nikon and Sigma SLR mounts.

Sigma 300mm f2.8 EX DG HSM + $340 Rewards for $3400 (C/N)

Also good for some weightlifting exercises, the Sigma 300mm f2.8 EX DG HSM goes for $3400 but for a limited time B&H Photo is offering 10% promotional rewards with it, which comes out to $340~ to be used in future purchases at B&H. This offer is available in the Canon SLR mount and the Nikon SLR mount.

Canon 24-70 f4L IS + $85 Rewards for $850

The Canon 24-70mm f4L IS USM goes for $850 at authorized dealers, but for a limited time, B&H Photo is offering 10% promotional rewards to go with it. That’s $85 to spend in future transactions at B&H Photo. Certainly not a small amount, and more flexible that accessories bundles (unless you happen to want/need that particular set of accessories).
