Tamron increases mail-in rebate amounts for both 17-50mm lenses

Tamron has increased the mail-in rebate amounts for both the 17-50mm f2.8 lenses by $50. You can get a $100 mail-in rebate if you buy the 17-50mm f2.8 Di-II VC (stabilized) and a $75 mail-in rebate if you buy the 17-50mm f2.8 Di-II (not stabilized). See all the options at B&H Photo. This round of mail-in rebates ends September-30-2012.

Both lenses are available in Canon and Nikon mounts, while Alpha and K-mount only have the unstabilized lens. (which I think is a mistake by lens manufacturers - offering a lens with optical stabilization would actually give them an advantage since the photographer will have a choice of sensor-shift or optical image stabilization, but that's another story for another day).

New Tamron Mail-in Rebates throughout Q3 2012

Tamron has a new round of mail-in rebates for some of its popular lenses. This round is good for the whole Q3 of 2012 (July 1st until September 30, 2012). You can find the PDF file at B&H Photo, one product pages of eligible lenses, such as the 17-50mm f2.8 Di-II VC which goes for $550 after the $100 mail-in rebate in your choice of Canon or Nikon mount. (VC is Tamron speak for optical image stabilization).

Tamron mail-in rebates good until June 30, 2012 (C/N/A/P)

The current iteration of the Tamron mail-in rebates are good until June 30, 2012. You can find them nicely organized at B&H Photo. They are available in Canon, Nikon, Alpha Sony Minolta, and Pentax K-mount. Please note these are mail-in rebates, which means you have to fill forms, cut bar codes, make copies of your submission, submit, wait, receive check (or follow up if there is something wrong), and deposit the check.

It would be nice if they switched to online rebate submission like the Staples Easy Rebates. Online rebates are better for all parties involved, faster submission, easier verification, reduced fraud, happier customers.
