Olympus E-M10 Mark III with 14-42 EZ for $450 (or instead E-M10 III w/25mm f1.8 for $650)

“Take pictures with” kits are all the rage during the Black Friday – Holiday shopping season for the obvious reasons. So if you or someone you know wants to get started with M43rds, one of the offers right now is the new condition Olympus E-M10 III with 14-42 f3.5-5.6 EZ going for $450 in the black color scheme. This is currently the same price as the body only!

On the other hand, if you prefer the body only and a prime lens, start at the E-M10 III body only page and then click on the “Build a Bundle” little cyan link. This will bring an option to add to your shopping cart the Olympus 25mm f1.8 Step Up Kit (the lens with a bag and a memory card) for $200 more. So you’d be paying $650 for the E-M10 III with the 25mm f1.8 lens. The lens goes for $300 on its own (without the bag and card).

Panasonic ZS70 travel zoom with Panasonic Battery/Charger Kit and More Extras for $298

No matter how many extra lenses and smoke and mirrors smartphones use, they can’t replace a superzoom digital camera. Which is why they still exist 🙂

Which brings us to the Panasonic ZS70 with its Leica-blessed 30x optical zoom stabilized lens going for $298 with free US shipping and including for FREE by participating authorized deals the Panasonic Battery & Charger kit. But that’s not all. Some retailers are sweetening the pie even more with freebies of their own:

+ at B&H Photo you also get a 64GB Sandisk Extreme PRO SDXC

+ at Adorama it’s the usual accessorapalooza that also includes Corel software options…

Since we are speaking Panasonic ZS-series [we already mentioned the ZS100 offer yesterday], there’s also an offer on the ZS200 for $598 but no free Panasonic battery/charger kit. But retailers do include their own freebies as follows:

+ at B&H Photo you get the 64GB Sandisk Extreme PRO SDXC and a Ruggard camera case

+ at Adorama it’s the usual accessorapalooza

For both of these cameras you have the option to extend the original 1-year warranty to a 3-year warranty for FREE from Panasonic by registering. Details on the PDF file at the participating dealers above…

To help with that, Adorama is running a Top 100 Deals page that lists what are in their opinion their Top 100 deals. Each product category has L and R arrows to see more in the slider type thing, and of course it has a “See All” to see a lot more products of that type…

Black Friday only: NewEgg’s 24 hour e-newsletter offers

If you like your eggs new [HA!], NewEgg has launched a 24-hour Black Friday e-newsletter promotion. For items that have promo codes, it requires the “enter your email address” song and dance. Too many items to list here individually, so this is a DIY YMMV egg-y adventure…

YMMV: MyBestBuy $5 Bonus Certificate (expires Sat PM)

This is a YMMV! If you are participating in the Best Buy rewards program (“My Best Buy”), check your Inbox for an email from Best Buy titled “Drop Everything”. Inside you will find a “click to activate” offer that gets you a $5 bonus certificate that expires on 11/28/20 at night. This can be used online or in-store. I am at the entry-level Best Buy rewards tier and haven’t purchased anything from them in a while, so it may be a “reactivate inactive users” type of a promotion. It’s also possible that customers in higher reward tiers may be offered a higher amount, the “spend more to profit (for them) / save (for the consumer) more” philosophy 🙂

Here’s a screenshot of the relevant part in the email:

PS: it is possible the offer may have been in earlier emails as well, but with the avalanche of Black Friday emails, I’m not able to open them all or read every one of them end to end. If only I was a 16-core Ryzen, instead I’m a 2010 Celeron 😉

Amazon has a Brick and Mortar Black Friday: Spend $60+, Get $15 off (exp Sunday night)

How things have changed! Amazon now has a Brick and Mortar Black Friday Deal. That’s right! This offer is good at Amazon’s brick and mortar “Amazon Books” (bookstores) and “Amazon 4-Star” (B&M stores that stock highly-rated high-demand items). If you spend $60+ on a single purchase, you will get $15 off. The offer ends 11/29/20 at 11:59pm pacific ~ more realistically, at store closing time, I guess the Amazon “terms and conditions” writers have not gotten used to brick and mortar expiration times 🙂

Excluded are Apple, Bose, Nintendo, Ugg, alcohol, and Oculus products.

Not sure if you have an “Amazon Books” or an “Amazon 4 Star” (not Amazon 4Chan!) store near you? Check this page that lists the (currently modest) amount of Amazon B&M stores. Modest if you don’t count Whole Foods that is 🙂

Sony complicated mail-in promotion with conditions: Buy 2 or More participating Sony Lenses, Own a qualifying Sony Full-Framer, and Get Mail-In Rebate Per Lens

The offer requires:

  • Buy 2 or more Sony Lenses from this eligible list of options; new condition authorized dealer only, no open-box, no used, no refurbished – look for them at B&H Photo
  • You Must Own a Sony Full Frame camera from this list A7S III, A7R III, A7R IV, A9, A9 II; purchase time does not matter for this, you could also buy the camera together with the lenses
  • you must enter the information (serial numbers, etc) at the promotional Sony page
  • you will receive $100 to $200 per eligible lens; the amounts per lens are predetermined (typically the more expensive the lens, the higher the rebate)
  • you will receive the amount in about 2 months as a prepaid VISA gift card
  • check all the terms conditions and restrictions before jumping in

Separately, Sony is running a promotion that if you own an eligible Sony camera and purchase a Sony Xperia 1 II or 5 II, you get a rebate of $150 or $120. Eligible Also a 12/6/20 expiration date… Details via the PDF file at the Xperia 1 II product page at B&H, which as of the time of writing it gets a $100 B&H gift card as well…

NewEgg 24 hour Thursday BF Ultimate sale

Fans of the NewEgg way of doing things, they have launched their 24 hour Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) Ultimate BF sale with 98 pages of offers, with each page having 36 offers.
