If you are signed up for the Fry’s Electronics email newsletter, their latest newsletter that comes with the “personal promo codes” includes the full version of Lightroom 5 for $100 after using the promo code in-store. The promo code offer is in-store only. This is a 3-day sale per their email. Here is a screenshot crop of that offer…

Refurbished Nikon D3200 body only for $300 [limit 5]
DSLR action returns to the eBay Deals where authorized Nikon Dealer “BuyDig” (the online discount imprint of Beach Camera) is offering the manufacturer refurbished Nikon D3200 body only for $300 with free shipping with limit five per buyer. The body only kits are typically a good deal if you don’t want/need the 18-55 kit lens (or don’t want to deal with selling/trading it)… As with all eBay featured offers, they are limited time things, but the exact expiration date is not predictable.
AmazonBasics camera bags discounted (limit 3 each for on-sale items)
I’m not sure exactly when the discounts happened, but I was just looking at the best selling camera cases at Amazon, and some of their house brand “AmazonBasics” are discounted. Their Sling Backpack goes for $25 each (limit 3), while their top-selling Backpack for SLR/DSLRs goes for $30 (limit 3) and averages 4.6 out of 5 based on over 2300 customer reviews. They come in frustration-free packaging, so no fighting shrink-wraps or other packaging annoyances. Meanwhile their large DSLR gadget bag goes for $21.50 each (limit 3), while their holster goes for $16 each (limit 30).
Speaking of Amazon, if you are planning to place an order of $25 or more ($35+ if you want free shipping as a non-Prime member), you can get this eForCity leather hand grip for $4.20 each (that’s the actual price!). This is part of the Add-On program, so the shopping cart won’t allow you to buy it unless your order total is $25 or more. Regardless of Prime membership status. You can buy as many of these as you like. They average 3.5 out of 5 with nearly 600 customer reviews, so there are trade-offs.
Refurbished GoPro HERO3+ Black Edition for $290 [limit 5]
Back to the eBay Deals where we find the manufacturer refurbished GoPro HERO3+ Black Edition offered for $290 with free shipping with a limit of five per eBay shopper by eBay seller “premiumdirectllc” (99.5%). This ships from UPS and requires a signature per the eBay listing description.
Please note the GoPro Hero3+ is no longer the latest model. The new Hero4+ is now the latest model and as of a few days ago, it is in-stock and shipping.

First Time Buyers Only: Spend $100+ on Amazon Fine Art, Get $25 Gift Card bonus
If you like buying photography as art (or other art) and you never purchased any Fine Art items from Amazon before, they have a new promotion that gets you a free $25 Amazon Gift Card when you make a purchase of $100+ at Amazon Fine Art. The gift card will be emailed to you (not a plastic gift card by mail) at the end of the month you make your purchase in. An expiration date is not mentioned over there.
(ENDED) Starts 4pm / 4:30pm ET: Jumbl High-Resolution 22MP Scanner/Digitizer
These limited time offers expired… For potential new offers, check the Gold Box Lightning Deals… Expired items after the jump…
Sony A77 II and A58 combined purchase discounts with select Lenses [and coupons]
A new variation of the combined purchase instant rebates is running for a couple of Sony Alpha pellicle-mirror dSLRs. You put one DSLR and one lens in your shopping cart, you enter the coupon code, and when you reach the checkout page, there is a combined purchase discount of $100 (either the 55-200 or 55-300 lenses) or $200 (the 18-135mm lens). This is a one-to-one promotion. If you put two lenses and/or two DSLRs and enter their coupons, you only get one discount. But you can buy them in separate transactions (I think – I obviously can’t buy them to test those type of limits).
So the eligible DSLRs for this promotion are the Sony a77 Mark II (either body only or with 16-50mm f2.8), and the A58 with 18-55mm kit. The coupon codes are listed over there. I won’t listen here because sometimes they change them, and I have no way of knowing that they changed.
The page does not specify an expiration date, so they are good until the coupon codes no longer work. Speaking of which, here is a screenshot crop example with the A58 w/18-55 and the 18-135mm added to the shopping cart. What you see is the top right corner of the Amazon Checkout page:
Google Chromecast down to $28
The Google Chromecast is on sale again, the lowest price as far as I can recall, $28 for the new condition. The Staples website (free ship-to-store or free shipping for Rewards members). You can use any available Staples Rewards partially or fully towards this. This is also priced-matched at Amazon.com (free shipping for Prime or with $35+ order)… This offers a number of ways to get your photographs, galleries, slideshows and videos to the big screen…
Sony HDR-AS30V action camera for $220
The Sony HDR-AS30V action camera is currently on sale for $220 with free shipping at B&H Photo. To see the sale price, you must needs add it to the shopping cart, and then login with your B&H Photo account. They also have other bundles if interested in specific accessories or uses (eg bicycle bundle)… Or for $250 you can get it with a bonus waterproof case (SPK-AS1) and replacement door (AKA-RD1) and 16GB microSD from BuyDig.
Imported Canon 5D Mark III body only for $2560 [Gray Market!]
Back to the eBay Deals party we go where the new condition Imported (Gray/Grey Market) Canon 5D Mark III body only is offered for $2560 with free shipping by eBay seller “getitdigital” (99.3%). Note this does NOT come with a Canon USA warranty. The seller (GetItDigital) offers their own one year warranty for this camera. If you are not sure what this means, do not buy until/unless you understand! Over 1400 5DMk3 units were sold so far from this listing.
Tue: Canon DSLR two lens bundles (T5i, T5, SL1)
The main Best Buy website deal of the day for Tuesday 10/14/14 is a trio of Canon DSLR bundles featuring the standard kits (w/18-55) along with the 55-250 lens and camera bag and 58mm UV filter and 16GB card. The DSLRs featured are the SL1 ($750 bundle), the T5 ($650 bundle) and the T5i ($850 bundle). Especially of interest if you have any Best Buy coupons, rewards, or other special promotions through their various rewards and such.
Ships 2-3 weeks: 82mm ExpoDisc 2.0 for $50
If you have lenses that take 82mm filters, rejoice! Shipping in 2-3 weeks is the brand new ExpoDisc 2.0 at 82mm and it has the same price as the 77mm version, $50, available for purchase at Amazon by Amazon herself. The listing says these are hand calibrated and made in USA.
(ENDED) 20% off Refurbished Olympus Gear with coupon (E-M5 w/12-50 for $600)
These limited time offers expired… Expired items after the jump…
(ENDED) Camera & Photo Lightning Deals (Tue): Samsung NX30, NX3000, Sony NEX-6 again (?)
This bonus round of Amazon Camera and Photo Lightning Deals ended. The deals were worthy of their name this time! The NEX-6 w/16-50mm finally went live and it was at an even better price, $425! It was 97% claimed. So it turned out to be a good idea to wait for the Lightning Deal to finally materialize (in retrospect, it’s easy to say that).
The Samsung NX30 w/18-35 (so easy to mistype 18-55) went for $680 and was 100% claimed, while the NX3000 w/16-50mm went for $425 and was 53% claimed. Wouldn’t it be nice if every lightning deal round was filled with cameras like that? :)… Expired offers after the jump for the deal historians…
(ENDED) Samsung NX Mini with 9mm lens for $250
This limited time offer expired…
Olympus E-P1 silver w/14-42mm for $220
NewEgg launched its own Groupon-style service called NewEggFlash and a new offer that went live today (expiring by 10/19/14) offers the Olympus PEN E-P1 Silver w/14-42mm for $220 with free shipping. The bottom of the page says this is covered by the Photo-4-Now return policy, which we can assume means that Photo-4-Now is the seller.
New twist: Prime Members get 30 minute Early Access to some (but not all) Amazon Lightning Deals
Amazon revealed a new twist today, a new feature for Prime members. For some of the items in the traditional Gold Box Lightning Deals, Amazon Prime members will get access to them 30 minutes before the general population does. It’s easier to explain with an example, look at the annotated screenshot crop of the Ape camera case below (click on the picture or open in new tab/window to see it at full size)…
As you can see, the Ape case has the “Prime Early Access Deal” line. Only Lightning Deals that show this line are going to be available to Prime members for 30 minutes early. All the other items will go live at the same time for everybody. Here is an annotated screenshot example below of Upcoming Lightning Deals, some are Prime Early Access, some are not (click on the picture or open in new tab/window to see it at full size)…
(SOLD OUT) 13.3″ MacBookPro Model ME864LZ/A for $1000
As of a PM recheck, this sold out with 93 units picked up during the sale… Meanwhile the Mystery Deal of the Day for Monday at the eBay Deals is the new condition 13.3″ MacBookPro Model ME864LZ/A offered for $1000 with free shipping by NewEgg’s eBay store. Limit five per customer. It has 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2560 x 1600, Mac OS X v10.9 Mavericks, 3.5 lbs, etc… As with all eBay Deals, this is a limited time offer…
Sony NEX-6L/B (w/16-50) for $500 now (limit 2) [update: got removed from Lightning Deals]
UPDATE (Monday at 10:23am ET): it looks like the oomans at Amazon intervened and the NEX-6 with 16-50mm was removed from the Lightning Deals, perhaps because the current price would be same or better than what the lightning deal would have been. So no more indecision, the Sony NEX-6L/B kit (NEX-6 with 16-50mm) is on sale for $500 with free shipping, with a limit of two per shopping cart at Amazon by Amazon herself. This may be a price-match of someone else’s sale promotion…
No longer: Which further complicates things for people who are trying to decide, because starting at 10am eastern on Monday, this kit is going to be an Amazon Camera & Photo Lightning Deal. I have no idea what the lightning deal price is going to be, or how many they will have. So while we typically have a “Strategery” section, in this case, we have a “I have no idea what to say” section 🙂
(ENDED) Camera & Photo Lightning Deals (Mon): ePhoto, Ape, Tenba, Polaroid, etc
This round ended. Check back on Mondays and Fridays for more semi-unpredictable Amazon Camera and Photo Lightning Deals… Expired items after the jump

The Old TypePad Blog is now Archived as a Sub-Domain
If you were trying to access individual blog-posts from the old TypePad blog, those have not been transferred over to the new blog. There were over 10,000 ephemeral deals posts, and it was very impractical to transfer them over. However, the Old TypePad blog is available for archival purposes at this new sub-domain url http://cameradeals1.1001noisycameras.com (notice the 1 in the url). The main categories will be redirected to their equivalent ones here.
If you previously bookmarked any old posts from the old TypePad blog or you followed a link to them, and they do not work, add “1” in your url ( cameradeals —> cameradeals1 ) and you will get to the old posts. The old TypePad blog will no longer be updated.
