I am going through the Black Friday Ads and price-checking to see which cameras have already been price-matched by the internets. The Sony a5000 w/16-50mm is advertised for $350, and the internet has matched the price, but that’s not all, Adorama is bundling it with lots of free accessories including the Corel software bundle (Aftershot X2, PSP X8), Bag, SD, Filters, etc). The same price is at B&H Photo and Amazon itself but no freebies.
On the other hand, if you want to optimize for a lower price, you can get it in open-box condition for $298 at B&H Photo with a 1-year warranty from B&H (not Sony USA).
PS: while I’ll try to price-check as many things as I can, I won’t post individual alerts for every single one of them. But they will be added to the Black Friday Ads digest post.
Just like previous years, the internets have began price-matching (or rolling out) some of the Black Friday offers. In this case, it is the Sony a6000 two-lens kit (16-50, 55-210) going for $700 at Adorama (with lots of free accessories: Corel, Bag, SD, Filters, etc) and B&H Photo (4% rewards) and Amazon itself… The same price is also offered for the two lens kit with the 18-55 instead of the 16-50 lens but without any freebies (eg B&H Photo)…
Adorama launched another round of early Black Friday specials featuring some of the latest promotions and bundles with free accessories featuring Canon, Nikon and Sony cameras and lenses and assorted accessories. The cameras and lenses are broken down in sub-groups, nested within the manufacturer listing blocks in the order mentioned above.
Sunday is typically when new manufacturer-initiated instant-savings promotions roll out, and this Sunday is no exception on the Sony front, where a number of new MAP-blessed sales have gone live featuring various Sony cameras (DSLR, mirrorless, fixed lens), along with various Lenses and Accessories and Camcorders. You can find them all nicely organized at B&H Photo… You can compare the current price situation to early November using the November 2016 price charts…
The 64GB Sony UHS-I SDXC Class 10 memory card, model SF64UY2/TQ, is currently on sale, in new condition for $20 with free shipping at B&H Photo as one of their latest Featured Sales… The same price is available at Amazon by Amazon itself (free S&H for Prime or with $49+; limit 10 per customer)…
If you are comfortable with open-box camera-gear, B&H Photo is offering the open-box Sony a5000 with 16-50mm for $379 plus shipping and handling. My three test zipcodes (east coast, west coast, in-between) all show $9.01 shipping but I can’t test every zipcode… To see how it stacks up price-wise, check the Mirrorless Price charts, especially the bottom chart, the “Take Pictures With Kits”.

ORIGINAL POST: We just updated the Stock Status Tracker and we have some interesting news for fans of the Sony RX100 V, a discount! It looks like it may be a computer-generated price-match, so it may (or may not) last long. Amazon itself offers it for $956 while 3rd-party seller Cardinal Photo has it for $948 with free shipping (but not Prime eligible).
UPDATE: the Cameta eBay store is bundling a handful of free accessories for the same price (64GB Transcend SDXC, extra 3rd-party charger and battery, trinkety accessories, 1-year Outdoor Photographer (prepaid subscription voucher), free 4×6″ York Prints, etc).
ORIGINAL POST: The estimates were correct for the Sony RX100 V, the camera is now in-stock and shipping at multiple retailers as you can see at the just-updated Stock Status Tracker. This includes many of the major retailers including Amazon and Adorama and B&H Photo.
One of the A4C daily deals is the new condition 16GB Sony Microvault Dual USB Flash Drive for $8 (was $7) w/free S&H. You can buy as many as you want. The Dual part is because storage is accessible two different ways, from a full size USB 2.0 connector or a microUSB connector. Remember, your phone/tablet must support OTG in hardware and software for the microUSB connection to work. This is more something to check for older phones since newer phones (at least ones with microUSB that is) support it.
The Sony RX100 III currently goes for $750 at authorized Sony dealers, but as one of the daily deals at the Best Buy website you can get it bundled with a $50 Best Buy gift card…
If you don’t want to deal with Best Buy, it is available in open-box condition for $679 + shipping at B&H Photo, however, Best Buy may have it in open-box condition for $600. Click on the open box link at the Best Buy page to check availability. No gift card for the open-box.

Sony switched to an Apple style two-step announcement, with the pre-orders coming in Step #2 of the whole song and dance. Which brings us to step #2, the new Sony RX100 Mark V Compact-with-RAW (1″ sensor, 24-70mm eq f1.8-2.8 Zeiss-blessed lens) is now available for pre-order for $1000 at B&H Photo and Adorama and Amazon by Amazon itself. The release estimate is somewhere between October 14-28 in 2016.

It is available in “Used – Very Good” condition for $1387 [was $1313~] by Amazon Warehouse Deals itself, the used arm of Amazon. They offer a 30-day return policy but there is no manufacturer warranty… On the other hand if you prefer it i new condition, it is now in-stock for $1600 at both Adorama and B&H Photo… Price updated 9/9/16 [it flipped again]…
