This listing expired with 10,000 cards sold. This is a recurring offer but they don’t last long each time…
(ENDED) Reminder of 12/31/15 deadline for Chase and Discover with 5% to 10% Amazon Rewards
The Year of 2015 ended, and as such, this strategy is no longer relevant for 2015, however, the same principle applies to future years and similar promotions. Amazon is typically reserved for Q4 promotions. For on-going 5% at Amazon there’s the Citi Forward credit card and the Amazon Prime Store credit card (not to be confused with the Amazon Chase VISA credit card)…
(ENDED) Pay $95, Get $100 eBay eGift Card (limited time)
This iteration ended as well, but this is recurring…
(ENDED) Pay $95, Get $100 eBay eGift Card (limited time)
This offer ended but it returns every few days as part of the eBay Deals…
(ENDED) Pay $80, Get $100 iTunes Gift Card by mail (limit 3)
This limited time offer expired, but there are plenty of iTunes offers every few days…
YMMV: reload $100+ in Amazon Gift Card Balance, Get $5 Promotional Credit
If you are an Amazon shopper, you may be eligible for a promotion that gets you a $5 credit if you reload your Amazon Gift Card Balance with $100 or more. To find out if you are eligible, you must be logged on to your Amazon account, and then click on the “Click here to qualify” button that adds the coupon-promotion to your account. Then reload your balance. The $5 promotional credit expires 2/20/16. The $100+ gift card amount never expires. Offer ends 12/31/15. More details on the Amazon Promotional page.
NOTE: when buying gift cards, Amazon’s Checkout system may ask you to re-enter your credit card number for verification and security purposes.
Annotated screenshot crop below:
Strategically, now is a good time to do this if you have a Chase or Discover credit card. Their Q4 rewards (if you opted in and are below the $1500 quarterly maximum) give you 5% to 10% back on Amazon purchases until 12/31/15.
After you reload the card with a $100+ amount, you will see this offer verified at the top of your Amazon Checkout page like this (annotated screenshot below):
The new amount will be added to your gift card within 5 minutes. I am still waiting to see how the $5 promotional credit will appear (I will update this after it happens). Per the terms and conditions, you will receive a separate email notifying you that the $5 promotional credit has been applied to your account…
UPDATE: The $5 Promo Code is Here (arrived in 12 minutes)
The $5 promotional credit email arrived 12 minutes after I placed the order. The $5 promotional credit won’t be added to your gift card balance, but will be added to your promotional credit account. You can see that by going to any Instant Video available for purchase and clicking “More Purchase Options” and then clicking “Redeem a gift card or promotion code”. The $5 was added after I received the email. It was not there before. Then if you place a qualifying order, the $5 promotional will be automatically applied to your purchase. Here’s an annotated screenshot crop of that right below (showing the top right corner of the Amazon Checkout page):
Fun? Post-it Pop-up Note Camera Dispenser for $7
And now something fun. The Post-it Pop-up Note Camera Dispenser for 3×3 inch sticky notes is on sale for $7 at the Staples website. It goes for $8+ in B&M stores. Free ship to store, or free shipping if you are a Rewards member (or if they have any other free shipping promotions). You may (or may not) be able to use some coupons and/or rewards towards the purchase price.
PS: these take Pop-Up refill notes, not the regular sticky notes.
Android Pay on Nexus: the $20 Best Buy eGift Card arrived the next day
UPDATE 12/21/15: The $20 Best Buy gift card remains in your account (stored on Google’s servers) even after you uninstall Android Pay. If you re-install Android Pay, it is right there. You may have some flexibility in the PIN entry by adjusting how quickly the lockscreen activates after you press the power button or the screen doses off. This is YMMV depending on your phone and OS version.
ORIGINAL POST
I became a guinea pig for this promotion we mentioned earlier this week: if you have a Nexus device and install and use Android Pay on it by 12/31/15, you will receive a $20 Best Buy electronic gift card in your Android Pay account.
I did this earlier this the week, and the e-gift card arrived the following day. I did not count the number of hours in-between, but my first Android Pay transaction happened on 12/16 and the gift card was in my Android Pay account on 12/17. Cropped screenshot below – it has a PIN and bar code which I won’t post 🙂
Android Pay requires a lockscreen PIN for your phone or other approved locking mechanism. And NFC turned on. If you remove the lockscreen PIN (or the locking mechanism), Android Pay automatically removes your credit card(s) from your Android Pay account. Kinda rude but they are erring on the side of financial security.
Since there is no way (as far as I can tell) to access Android Pay transactions with a web browser, once you receive the $20 Best Buy eGift Card, you may want to take a screenshot of the number and PIN to make sure you don’t lose it later.
NOTE: I did this using only one phone. I do not know what happens if you have two or more phones using the same Google account with Android Pay activated on both.
Buy Adorama Gift Card, Get Coupon for future purchase
If you are part of the Adorama emailing list, they have emailed a new promotion, Purchase an Adorama Gift Card and receive a coupon to be used in a future purchase by 12/31/15. The coupon depends on the gift card amount. A $100 gift card gets you a $5 off coupon. A $250 gift card gets you a $20 off coupon, and a $500 gift card gets you a $50 off coupon. The coupons must be used by 12/31/15… I haven’t done this promotion so I don’t know how it works…
Pay $85, Get $100 Sears Gift Card via E-Mail (limited time)

Nexus Devices: Get $20 Best Buy eGift Card with any Android Pay B&M purchase at any of many participating merchants
If you have a compatible Nexus device running Android 4.4 or later, and you configure Android Pay on it, and you make a purchase with Android Pay at any participating brick and mortar store before 12/31/15, Google will add a $20 Best Buy electronic Gift Card to your Android Pay account. The offer is available for tap and pay contactless payments in-store, not for in-app or online Android Pay purchases. The $20 eGift Card will be added to your account by 1/31/16. This is an easy way to score a $20 Best Buy credit. Limit one per user. Details at Google’s. There are many chain stores accepting Android Pay, it shouldn’t be hard finding one near you. From Jamba Juice to Walgreens to McDonalds to Whole Paycheck Foods to Game Stop to Staples to Toys.R.US to Pantera Bread to grocery chains to Breadwich’s (Subway) to Macy’s.
PS: I will try this out and post updates as things develop!
