These are the digital download options and may be restricted to Germany…

Weekend (B&H): Vanguard Sedona 45 for $50, Etc

If you are not a fan of Transcend, the 128GB Sandisk Ultra goes for $22 by Amazon itself but it is not U3/V30…

REI Outlet sale of 70% off or more

IF you are a fan of outdoor photography or nature in general and you are a fan of hippie collectives, the REI Outlet is having a sale/clearance with discounts of 70% off or more. No coupon needed, the price you see is the price you pay…

REI is not a photography store but it has products that can help you with your outdoor and indoor adventures…

REI being a hippie collective, you only pay for membership once, and then you are a member of the cult collective for a whole lifetime…

Coupon expires February 4 at 3am eastern time… And if you happen to be near any of their B&M stores, their Coupons and Offers page has a printable coupon for 15% off a single item at their B&M stores [yes, there are plenty left!]… Exclusions apply for both online and offline sales…

Thursday: Feiyu, Bolt, iPad, Sandisk Plus, Etc

UPDATE: this line somehow didn’t make it to the original post: Among the Thursday B&H Photo daily deals you can find…

+ FEIYU G5 Handheld Gimbal for GoPro for $100

+ Bolt VM-210 Flexible Macro Light for $40

+ Autocue/QTV 12″ Ultra Lite Teleprompter Kit for $479

At the Woot website the action includes curved Samsung monitors, 9.7-inch iPad PROs, and mo(i)re…

At the Best Buy dailies there’s a sale on Ultra Plus Sandisk memory cards in either SD or microSD, going for the same price at the same storage option: 32GB for $11, and 128GB for $30. They also come with an optional Shutterfly coupon offer…

Various computer accessories are part of a Logitech sale in the Amazon USA Gold Box including webcams, mice, headsets and keyboards of course…

CreativeLive Season Pass for $249 (1-Year) or $29 month-to-month

Good until the end of January 2019 (31st at 11:59pm ET), coupon code STARTCREATING20 gets you the following discounts on the CreativeLIVE Season Pass: a 1-year prepaid subscription drops in the shopping cart from $300 to $250. This rate is for the first year (12 months = 365 days). Alternately you can sign up for their beta month-to-month option that is $29 per month. The latter is handy if there’s only a small number of classes you are interested in, or you only have schedule flexibility during certain months of the year…

NOTE that most but not all classes are available through the Season Pass. Their FAQ pages have detailed exclusions

Wedn: Tamron 150-600/5-6.3 Di VC [C/N] for $779 {also Dracast, Atomos, Surface} [updated]

One of the benefits of the Canon-Nikon systems is the abundance of third-party lenses from the Japanese trio (TamTokSig), offering more affordable alternatives to the “canon” system lenses. Which brings us to the Wednesday B&H Photo daily deals, headlined by the new condition Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD lens offered for $779 with free shipping in your choice of Canon or Nikon systems…

PS: this is certified to be a Tamron lens {that’s because I often confuse/mistype Tamron and Tokina ~ they share four of the six letters in their respective names}

Also participating in the deals du jour is the Dracast LED500 Pro Bi-Color LED Light with V-Mount Battery Plate for $199 and three bundles of the Atomos Shogun Inferno 7″ ranging from $995 to $1195…

UPDATE: speaking of daily deals, at Best Buy they are offering the new condition 12.3″ Microsoft Surface PRO (4GB RAM, 128GB SSD) with a keyboard included for $649 with free shipping or store pickup… There are enough Surface products now (and that’s before the foldables and the smartphone-type-things arrive) to warrant a visit to the Wikipedia page to sort them all out. We’ve already had six generations of the tablet, and two of each of the laptop and the “Book” and the Studio and three of the Surface Hub…

EU: 64GB Sandisk Extreme SDXC (V30, U3) for 15 euro

While price-checking yesterday’s post, a bang for the buck option surfaced, it’s part of a Sandisk sale at Amazon Germany {not a lightning deal, so expiration time unknown) that has the new condition 64GB Sandisk Extreme SDXC card going for 15 euro and you can buy as many as you like. This is NOT a PRO version but it is V30, U3, C10, etc.

Once again, in a turn of conventional wisdom, Amazon Germany defeats the Amazon USA website where it goes for just under $20; however the 128GB goes for $35 in the USA Amazon but 36 euro at Amazon Allemagne…

EU: 256GB Sandisk Extreme PRO V30 SDXC for 60 euro

This is not a lightning deal, so I have no clue when the sale ends, but as of the time of writing, Amazon Germany is offering the new condition 256GB Sandisk Extreme PRO SDXC card (U3, V30, C10, up to 95MB/s) for 60 euro with free shipping in Germany. Limit up to five per customer at the sale price. This price currently soundly defeats the other storage options in this line…

In contrast this card goes for $88 at Amazon USA

UPDATE: this is part of a Sandisk sale (not a lightning deal) at Amazon Germany that also has the 512GB version of the PRO card going for 170 euro {that’s the premium of being the highest capacity available).

50% off Lindsay Adler classes at CL

For a limited time only, CreativeLIVE is offering 50% off Lindsay Adler classes. The price you see is the price you pay. Sale prices start at $14 and go up. Around forty classes are available from Ms Adler and participate in this sale! There’s a few short free ones as well in the second page of the search results…

Speaking of free, you can watch for free during the designated days the various classes shown at the CL On-Air schedule

Meanwhile the limited time $15 off coupon, aptly named 15FROMCHASE continues to run and it is good on all classes [I don’t know if it works on sale/featured items, I haven’t tested it]. Check their class catalog for ideas…

Tuesday: iKan, Thule, 13.3″ Dell Inspiron, etc [updated]

No 100 year anniversary products in the Tuesday B&H Photo daily deals but they are offering:

+ Thule Crossover 25L Daypack for 15″ Laptop for $50

+ iKan IFD1024 Featherweight Daylight LED Flood Fixture with AB and V-Mount Plates for $299

+ DELL 13.3″ Inspiron 13 5000 Series Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Laptop for $399

Computers are also in at the Woot daily deals but of the refurbished kind with the HP Elitebook in “Computers” and the Samsung S8 and S8+ duo [soon to be S-triplets {or more} with the launch of the S10 allegedly] in “Electronics”…

Speaking of Woot and computers there’s a few of them available as part of an open-box sale running until February 1st (or earlier for any that sell out – and they do sell out ahead of time as you can see over there)…

128GB Lexar USB-C/USB-A Flash Drive Cable for $19 w/FS

If you have embraced USB-C, Adorama is offering for a limited time (as a “snapshot deal”) the new condition 128GB Lexar JumpDrive C20c for $19 with free shipping. You can buy as many as you like. One side is USB-C (obviously), the other size is full size USB. This is a storage cable, not just a flash stick, so you have a “3 in 1” type of a usage for it. It supports USB 3.1 and promises UP TO 150MB/s read and UP TO 60MB/s write speeds. No coupon, no rebate, just add to le shopping cart and proceed to checkout!

PS: there is a bit of red on it, so it could color-match a Chinese New Year gift bundle 🙂

PS2: speaking of Adorama, they are running a winter sale on various Canon C-series Cinema cameras

Tuesday (EU): Sony a7s for 1358, a7r II for 1729

A duo of Sony E-system full frames can be found in the Tuesday JAN-29-2019 Amazon Germany Gold Box, both body-onlies, with the a7s going for 1358 euro, and the a7r II going for 1729 euro… Today’s sales also include the Motorola G6 Plus (4Gb RAM, 64GB onboard) going for 239 euro. You definitely needs a Wiki page to sort out the G6 models, let alone the whole Moto G line

The choices now in full frame mirrorless have exploded after Photokina 2018, with Canon and Nikon throwing their own hats in the ring, and a new ragtag alliance of three launching Micro Four L 😉

Monday: Gitzo 100-Year Anniversary Tripod, iPads, Surface, Etc

Another week is upon us [if your calendaring philosophy calls for Monday to be the start of a new week] and we have a new set of B&H Photo daily deals as follows:

+ GITZO 100-Year Anniversary Edition Tripod with Ball Head for $800

+ Apple iPad PRO of the 12.9-inch kind, with Wifi and 4G [I cringe at the thought of new products coming in 2019 with various faux-5G designations] with a yuge 512GB on-board storage, this being the mid-2017 model, for $799 in three color schemes

+ TP-Link smarthome thing and smart light bulb

The OS Fairness Doctrine [not to be confused with Doctorate] dictates competing OS deals, so the main Woot website is offering a variety of refurbished Surface 3 PRO tablet bundles from $480 to $780 [with 90-day Woot warranty], with various refurbished Samsung 4K OLED at Woot::Electronics, and Dell Optiplexes at Woot::Computers, and a refurb 10.5″ iPad PRO for $400 at Sellout/Clearance…

For European shoppers, Amazon Germany woke up from its snowy slumber with a variety of offers including:

+ a printers sale appears to have expired or not started yet???

+ Anker sale including 10,000 PowerCore II powerbank for 24 euro
+ Huawei P.Smart phone bundles for 239 euro
+ Corsair mechanical keyboards
+ Philips SonicCare Diamond Clean for that sparkly smile of your portrait subjects 🙂

Brands include Nikon, Zeiss, Hasselblad, Sigma, Canon, Olympus, Sony, Rollei, Rokinon, Schneider, Contax, Pentax, etc…

Friday: SKG, Auray, Ooma, Huanuo, Kindle ebooks, etc

Meanwhile at the Friday Amazon USA Gold Box there is a sale on budget Huanuo stands of various kinds (monitors, PC, feet, etc), along with a sale on various Brita water-filter pitchers… Just like razors, you have to also check the price of replacement filters before buying into a “system”…

Speaking of Amazon, while browsing around in their Kindle ebook pages, you may see an offer for a $5 ebook credit when you spend $20+ in Kindle ebooks between January 22-28 in 2019. This offers requires a login to see, and after you login, you have to activate it before it goes live. Thus, no direct link to the offer, but if you start browsing around the Kindle pages, you may see it. I don’t know if it is targeted or not…

Look for this mini banner on top of Kindle-related Amazon product pages:

[ENDED] EU: 128GB Sandisk Extreme PRO SDXC (95, U3, V30) for 35 Euro [limit five]

As of a JAN-25-2019 re-check [yes, we are just eleven months away from Christmas!], the sale ended, the price is back up to 40 euro… But the Amazon USA Lenovo 2-in-1 Chromebook that was also mentioned in this sprawling post continues to be good as of this update…

Once upon a time I had the original Fire tablet, which, tech-trivia factoid, had the same outer shell as the Blackberry Playbook. Back when Blackberry made …tablets!?!?!?
