PSA: O’Reilly’s will no longer sell eBooks individually on their website

O’Reilly specializes in technical books and ebooks, including some camera and imaging related (eg Photoshop and LR and such). They were the vanguard of DRM-free ebooks. They are NOT going out of the ebook market, but they will stop selling ebooks individually on their website. They are instead focusing on their Netflix-style subscription service where you can read as much and as many as you want as long as you are a paying subscriber.

Existing O’Reilly purchases will continue to be available. They also have options to download and send-to-cloud your existing ebooks. They will continue to sell ebooks individually through the various online ebookstores (Kindle, etc).

Pay $15, Get $40 to spend through Google Express (new users only)

Speaking of Price Club / Costco (for those not old enough to remember 1993, they merged in 1993), they are among the retailers that are participating in Google Express, along with Fry’s, Tarjay, Staples, etc. For first time Google Express customers, Groupon has a Pay $15, Get $40 to spend thru Google Express promotion. That is a pretty good discount, especially if you can keep your order close to the minimum.

Limit one for you and another one as a gift. The offer is for new Google Express users. I haven’t made a Google Express purchase yet, but I believe tipping for the delivery is expected?
