To add to the option-overwhelm, the Sony a6300 with the 16-50mm is available in “Used – Condition 9” at B&H Photo for $930 with free shipping.

Used items at B&H come with a 90-day warranty from B&H. Given that B&H is a well-known and reputable dealer, this is a lower risk used purchase than buying from cookie-cutter eBay refurbishers and such.

Used Sony RX100 first gen for $280

If you want to try out the Sony RX100 series without breaking the bank, and if you are comfortable with used cameras, you can get the first generation Sony RX100 in “Used – Condition 8+” for $280 at B&H Photo. The Sony a6000 two-lens kit continues for $700 (look for the options under the Mirrorless Section of the Situation room), but if you don’t want/need the 55-210mm lens, you can get the Sony a6000 with the 16-50mm for $548 with free shipping and a $50 B&H Photo electronic gift card in three of the four color schemes at B&H Photo. The only color that doesn’t get a $50 gift card is the “Graphite” (shipping is extra for this particular color).

Internet meets and defeats Sony a5000 Black Friday Ad

I am going through the Black Friday Ads and price-checking to see which cameras have already been price-matched by the internets. The Sony a5000 w/16-50mm is advertised for $350, and the internet has matched the price, but that’s not all, Adorama is bundling it with lots of free accessories including the Corel software bundle (Aftershot X2, PSP X8), Bag, SD, Filters, etc). The same price is at B&H Photo and Amazon itself but no freebies.

On the other hand, if you want to optimize for a lower price, you can get it in open-box condition for $298 at B&H Photo with a 1-year warranty from B&H (not Sony USA).

PS: while I’ll try to price-check as many things as I can, I won’t post individual alerts for every single one of them. But they will be added to the Black Friday Ads digest post.

As of a late 10/30/16 update of the Stock Status Tracker, the discount almost ended (it is $979 by Cardinal Photo, not Prime eligible). Alternately you can get it with a handful of free accessories for $1000 by Cameta thru eBay.

ORIGINAL POST: We just updated the Stock Status Tracker and we have some interesting news for fans of the Sony RX100 V, a discount! It looks like it may be a computer-generated price-match, so it may (or may not) last long. Amazon itself offers it for $956 while 3rd-party seller Cardinal Photo has it for $948 with free shipping (but not Prime eligible).
