Lens Coupon (!): $25 off Rokinon 8mm f2.5 Fisheye makes Canon $175, Nikon $204, Pentax $244, Alpha $254

Coupons for groceries are common. Coupons for lenses, not so much. But they do exist. Right now. At Amazon, there is a clip-on coupon (no code to enter, just click to clip the coupon to your Amazon account), that gets you $25 off the current price of the Rokinon 8mm f2.5 Fisheye lens. Amazon itself must needs be the seller for the coupon to work. After the coupon is factored in, it makes the Canon EF drop to $175, the Nikon F drop to $204, the Pentax K drops to $244, and the Sony Alpha drops to $254. Coupon expires 7/11/17 PM.

Pre-order new Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (C/N)

It’s the season of f2.8 zoom lenses 🙂 Tamron has a new one out, the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 is now available for pre-ordering for $1200 [CORRECTED] in the Canon and Nikon DSLR systems at Adorama and B&H Photo and OneCALL and Beach Camera thru Amazon (with extras)

In Tamron-speak, “VC” is image stabilization, “Di” is digitally optimized (not APS-C, just digitally optimized). “Di II” is APS-C.

This lens too has been added to the New Lenses of 2017 tracking page. This is the fifth f2.8 zoom lens announced this year!

SLR lenses are slowly catching up to the crazy zoom ratios of fixed lens cameras. Tamron is taking their to the “next level” with the brand new 18-400mm f3.5-6.3 DI-II VC HLD APS-C Zoom lens, available in the Canon and Nikon SLR systems. The zoom ratio is 22.22x optical.
