(ENDED) Moto G PLAY (4th Gen) for $100 works on all four major carriers

This limited time offer expired…

If you are lost in a sea of reviews and comparisons and benchmark navel-gazings, and spreadsheets long enough to scroll off the roof, in trying to decide which one of the dozens and dozens of unlocked smartphones to get, help is on the way. Thanks to some recent Snapdragon processors, a few of the unlocked phones out there have all the necessary radios to work on all four major carriers, GSM (AT&T, T-Mobile) and CDMA (Verizon, Sprint).

This helps cut down the number of choices dramatically, and increases both your carrier versatility (telephone number porting can finish within minutes these days ~ other things equal ~ so if you have a phone you own that works on all four, you can dump them right away) and the resale value of the phone, and encourages the sale of more unlocked all-carrier phones.

Which brings us to the new condition factory unlocked Motorola Moto G PLAY (4th generation) with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage and microSD slot (up to 128GB), 5-inch 720p screen, front and back f2.2 cameras (5mp and 8mp respectively), Snapdragon 410, USA warranty. It is on sale for $100 at Amazon itself (limit 3 per color per customer; this is the Standard version without Amazon’s Ads) and also by B&H Photo. The sale at B&H Photo ends Monday night (5/1/17).

NOTE: there are multiple “G” models. There’s the “G PLAY” (this one), the “G” (without Play or Plus) and the “G PLUS” (the more advanced of the three), in 4th and 5th generation. Note also that a lot of the Moto G phones have double the amount of RAM on the model with the highest on-board storage in its sub-line. Some are 16/32, some are 32/64GB on-board storage, so don’t assume, check!

NOTE #2: as usual with cellular coverage, there may be exceptions to the rule. If you want to be 100% certain, check online and also look for potential problems in particular cities or zipcodes.
