Olympus E-M1 Mark II Body Only for $849 [or USED for $637]

It’s the same song and dance every time. When a new flagship comes out, the prices of the previous flagship go down. And as of the time of writing, the new condition Olympus E-M1 Mark II body only is down to $849 at authorized Olympus USA dealers such as B&H Photo and Amazon and also at Adorama’s where you can optionally hit the “Create Your Bundle and Save” and purchase together with the camera various Sigma, Rokinon, 7artisan and Kamlan lenses for small combined purchase discounts. The discounts are small ($15 to $30 per lens, but some of these lenses are very low cost), but the discounts are stackable, so if you buy three different lenses, you’ll stack three different discounts.

On the other hand, if you believe in “The Way of The Used”, you can get it for $638 in “Condition 9 – minor scuffs and surface marks” at B&H Photo USED…

“Take pictures with” kits are all the rage during the Black Friday – Holiday shopping season for the obvious reasons. So if you or someone you know wants to get started with M43rds, one of the offers right now is the new condition Olympus E-M10 III with 14-42 f3.5-5.6 EZ going for $450 in the black color scheme. This is currently the same price as the body only!

On the other hand, if you prefer the body only and a prime lens, start at the E-M10 III body only page and then click on the “Build a Bundle” little cyan link. Sony complicated mail-in promotion with conditions: Buy 2 or More participating Sony Lenses, Own a qualifying Sony Full-Framer, and Get Mail-In Rebate Per Lens

Sony is running a little bit of a convoluted “buy more save more” type of a promotion until December 6 in 2020. The start of the promotional period was September 1st in 2020. Items need not to be purchased from the same retailer or the same date.

The offer requires:

  • Buy 2 or more Sony Lenses from this eligible list of options; new condition authorized dealer only, no open-box, no used, no refurbished – look for them at B&H Photo
  • You Must Own a Sony Full Frame camera from this list A7S III, A7R III, A7R IV, A9, A9 II; purchase time does not matter for this, you could also buy the camera together with the lenses
  • you must enter the information (serial numbers, etc) at the promotional Sony page
  • you will receive $100 to $200 per eligible lens; the amounts per lens are predetermined (typically the more expensive the lens, the higher the rebate)
  • you will receive the amount in about 2 months as a prepaid VISA gift card
  • check all the terms conditions and restrictions before jumping in

Separately, Sony is running a promotion that if you own an eligible Sony camera and purchase a Sony Xperia 1 II or 5 II, you get a rebate of $150 or $120. Refurb Nikon Z50 Two Lens Kit for $947 (Z 16-50, Z 50-250)

Today became an impromptu Nikon Z50 Day 🙂 We start, in reverse chronological order blog-style with the refurbished Nikon Z50 two lens kit (Z 16-50 DX VR and Z 50-250 DX VR) going for $947 at Adorama’s store with a 90-day Nikon USA warranty… This is $250 less than the new condition kits…

BUT the refurbished kits are not eligible for the Nikon-blessed promotion for the new condition kits that you can add the Nikon FTZ mount adapter (Nikon F lenses to Z bodies) to a Z50 kit for just +$47 more…

Of course it is also likely/possible that someone interested in a two-lens DX kit, may not be interested right away in adapters…

Refurbished Nikon Z50 body w/90DW for $749

We previously mentioned the Nikon Z50 2-lens kit offer for $1100, BUT if you are not interested in the basic zoom kit lenses, and you want a lower entry-price into the Nikon Z system, B&H Photo is offering the refurbished Z50 body only for $749 with free US shipping and a 90-day Nikon USA warranty…

HOWEVER, the refurbished version is not eligible for the Nikon-blessed offer of adding the Nikon FTZ mount adapter (Nikon F lenses to Nikon Z bodies) for just +$47 with new condition Z50 kits. So if you have no way of procuring an adapter for less then mayhaps you are better off going with the new condition kits…

… and given the prices of the new condition kits, the Z50 body only goes for $857 while the Z50 with 16-50mm goes for $897 (+$40 for the 16-50 lens which you can resell/trade/etc), you may be better off with the latter. With these kits, for +$47 you can add the Nikon FTZ adapter. That too you can resell/trade/etc if you don’t plan on using…
