A new offer went live at Adorama, the new condition Canon EF 75-300mm F/4-5.6 III USM is on sale for $99 with free expedited shipping and $4 in promotional rewards (to be used in the future at Adorama). This is the USM version of the lens. The one found in most Canon DSLR two-lens kit bundles is the non-USM version.
The popularity of superzoom digital cameras also fueled a parallel superzoom lens “zoom ratio war”. If instead you prefer a more modest, old-school superzoom ratio, the Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DI-II VC goes for $199 in new condition, or you can get it for $179 manufacturer refurbished at Adorama.
