Adobe Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 14 for $89 (Disc or Digital Download) [PC/Mac]

The Adobe Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 14 bundle is currently on sale for $89 with free shipping, in either a digital download (PC or Mac) or a PC/Mac Disc to be delivered to your address of choice at Amazon by Amazon itself… This offer is good for everyone, not just Prime members (previous offers were Prime-only)…

The same price is also available at the Microsoft Store (with free returns it says on the product but I don’t know if this applies because it is software and software returns are personas non-whateverata these days) and Office Depot and Office Max where according to their weekly ad it is expected to continue at this price until 2/13/16 (especially if you have ODP/OMX Gift Cards or Rewards (the Duracell Black Friday Rewards should be in your account by now))…

20% back in Plenti Rewards on $25 Google Play GiftCard

If you are part of the Google Play Android ecosystem and you want to stock up on Android camera and photo apps or in-app purchases, and if you are participating in the Plenti Rewards program, good until February 7 (2016) you earn 20% back in Plenti Rewards when you purchase a $25 Google Play Gift Card at Rite Aid brick and mortar stores. The offer is limit two during the week. You can use them on anything at Google Play, not just camera/photo. These rarely get discounted, so it’s a good opportunity… NOTE: you can’t use these to buy hardware or recurring subscriptions.

Prime Only: Adobe Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 14 for $70

This offer is good for Prime members only. You have to add the item to your shopping cart and click “Proceed to Checkout” to see the sale price of $70. For a limited time, you can get the Adobe Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 14 software bundle in either Software Box by Mail or Digital Download (PC or Mac). The price you see on the website range from $90 to $115.

While this promotion is running, and you add to the shopping cart, you will see the price get adjusted at the top right corner of the Amazon Checkout page. Annotated screenshot crop right below of the software box by mail:

elements14_prime_bundle1

The box-by-mail is apparently stackable with the digital download promotion, I added both to the shopping cart, and they both go for $70 each (I did not place the order):

elements14_prime_bundle2

NOTE #1: this offer only works if the items are sold and shipped by Amazon itself, not by third-party sellers.

NOTE #2: this only works for the aforementioned bundle. I tried the Photoshop Elements 14 and it’s not on sale. This had been going for around $40 in a similar add-to-cart promotion during the 2015 holiday shopping season.

Lightroom now FREE on Google Play (no sign-up, no subscription)

Adobe was rather late to the mobile photography app party, so now they have to be more aggressive to recapture lost ground. Which perhaps explains their latest move, Lightroom is now free for all to use on Google Play. You don’t need an Adobe ID, you don’t need a subscription. Just install it on your device and start using it locally.

I played with it for a few minutes. On an 8-inch Android tablet, the screen feels rather small for the UI, readability is not ideal, and in general it has more of a downsized desktop app feel to it. But it’s free and it works! It will probably feel a lot better on 10+ inch tablets. Perhaps a new excuse for photographers to buy the new Google Pixel C Android 2-in-1 creature? Or that 18-inch Samsung Galaxy Viewstrocity?

If you want to sync with your desktop, then an Adobe ID and subscription is needed. They are not giving everything away 🙂

Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Elements 14 for $80 (Mac)

Mac users who like software purchases in digital download form can get Adobe’s Elements 14 Photoshop and Premiere bundle for $80 at Amazon, while PC users and those who prefer disc-by-mail get it for $80. This offer is open to all, not just Prime members.

PS: the earlier offer Photoshop Elements 14 for $40 for Prime members expired (I just tried it and the price won’t drop after you add it to the shopping cart).

New Prime Benefit: second Household Adult gets own unlimited Prime Photo cloud storage

One of the Prime benefits is unlimited photo cloud storage for a Prime membership account. But in a recent expansion of benefits, Amazon also offers unlimited photo cloud storage for a second adult that can be added to the Prime membership of the primary/paying Prime member. So you can have two different adults with two different Amazon accounts and each one gets his/her own pool of unlimited photo cloud storage on their own Amazon accounts. This can be done by setting up an Amazon Household account. You can also have up to four kids added but the kids don’t get unlimited cloud photo storage.

Prime Only: Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 for $40

If you are an Amazon Prime member, you can get the Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 software for $40 in either the PC/Mac disc or the Digital Download. The price you see on the product page varies (it is $60 as of the time of writing). The price drops to $40 when you go deep into the Checkout page, one last step before you place the order. No coupon is needed for this one. There is a hint of this sale on the aforelinked page, the block that says “Prime Members Save More on This Product”.

When you reach the last step before finally placing an order, you should see something like this:

amazon_pho14_checkout

If the price total does not drop to $40, it means the offer ended or there’s something else wrong. Do not place an order if the price is higher (unless you want to buy it for more).

The offer is good for both the disc and the download. Sales tax collection may differ depending on delivery method and state.

DxO Software sale at B&H Photo (5 options)

Five different DxO software titles are on sale at B&H Photo, these are software to be delivered by mail, not digital downloads. They are Optics Pro 10 Essentials for $65 or Elite for $100; DxO ViewPoint 2 for $40; DxO FilmPack 5 Essential for $40 or Elite for $65. (I round the prices for readability and typeability).

(ENDED) Adobe Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 14 for $80 (Download or By Mail)

The $80 combo daily deal expired, however…

… if you are a Prime member, and you only need Photoshop Elements 14 (without Premiere Elements 14), the $40 promotion after you proceed to checkout is still good! See earlier post for details… This is an on-going offer, an expiration date is not mentioned…

Meanwhile the AfterShot 2 (not Pro) goes for $25 in the full version. You can make adjustments in the shopping cart for different options (disc backup, cloud backup, etc).

The aforelinked Corel Store offers free 30-day trials of their software and apparently Amazon has also expanded into software free trials, eg AfterShot Pro 2. I haven’t done one of the Amazon Free Trials yet, so I can’t tell you what the free-trial-flow is.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 for $40 [Prime only] {updated}

Right now, the Adobe Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 14 combination is on sale for $90 at Amazon as either digital download or physical media by mail… On the other hand, if you don’t need Premiere at all, Photoshop Elements 14 on its own goes for $63~ in download or by mail…

NewBlueFX Filters 3 Ultimate (download) for $265

Adobe’s so dominant in imaging software, one can easily forget that there are many other companies making all kinds of digital imaging software. I am trying to make a conscious effort to also mention them here, but if I forget, please feel free to e-yell at me.

Which brings us to the digital download version of NewBlueFX Filters 3 Ultimate by NewBlueFX on sale for $265~ by B&H Photo. This supports Windows and OS X. The download code will be sent 1-3 business days after your order is placed.

Lightroom (iOS) now FREE for ALL

If you have an iOS 8.1 or later Apple device, and do not have a Creative Cloud subscription or a desktop Lightroom, you too now can use the iOS version of Lightroom for free without the prior restrictions. Adobe finally discovered they can use it as a “gateway software drug” instead of frustrating users and driving them into the arms of many of the thousands of other iOS photography apps 🙂

Lightroom has two versions available, one for the iPhone/iPod and for the iPads. With the new bigger and more powerful iPad Pro, things may get more interesting worfklow-wise.

Pay $40, Get $50 equivalent in Amazon Coins (app store purchases)

If you like to purchase apps and in-app content from the Amazon App Store, they currently have a 20% sale on Amazon Coins, more specifically the $50-equivalent (5000 coins; pay $40) and $100-equivalent (10000 coins; pay $80). The smaller denominations do not have a 20% off sale.

New Adobe Elements 14 announced and shipping

We have both an announcement and an in-stock alert at the same time. It is Fall, and this means a new version of Adobe’s Elements software. We are now up to version 14. As usual, they start at early adopter prices ($100 in this case), and as time goes by, discounting begins. So this is for the early adopters. They are available in either boxed software by mail or digital downloads (Mac or PC). They are ready to go for $100 each at Amazon (your choice of box or download): Photoshop Elements 14 and Premiere Elements 14.

Mac Mega Software Bundle for $30 includes HDR Darkroom 3, Pixlr Pro, Deep Dreamer

Stacksocial is back with another Mac Mega Software Bundle. You pay $30 and you receive (digital downloads) of 15 different Mac software packages. YMMV AMEX Offers: Spend $10+ at Adobe.com, Get $10 statement credit

We start another burst of posts (from here upwards, since they are posted in reverse chronological order). This one is of the YMMV variety, American Express Offers. This can be found when you logon to your AMEX account. Not everyone gets the same offers, so there is a YMMV element to it. Their system probably has some kind of “targeting” algorithm to decide who to offer it to (or may just randomness). Regardless, there’s an Adobe offer, you spend $10 or more at Adobe.com in a single transaction (excludes merchandise, phone orders) and you get a $10 statement credit. Limit one per customer. Expires 10/30/15 if not used.

20% off Amazon Coins – only for apps/in-app purchases

Amazon has another app-related promotion for those deep into the Amazon app ecosystem. They have a 20% off sale on the purchase of Amazon Coins. The sale price is already factored in, so, for example, $80 gets you 10,000 Amazon coins ($100 equivalent). The Coins can only be used to purchase apps, games, and in-app/in-game items. They cannot be used for other purchases at Amazon but you can give them to friends… There are over 1000 for-pay/premium photography apps over there.

This promotion should not be confused with the recently launched Amazon Underground.

Personally I am not a fan of made-up digital currency, but thankfully for the rest of the universe, I am not the Czar of the Universe 🙂

Ten premium Photography Apps FREE (with free in-app purchases) as part of the new Amazon Underground

The Amazon free premium Android-y app of the day is DEAD. But it has a more user-friendly replacement. It is called the Amazon Underground. Hundreds of premium (normally for pay) Android apps are available for you to download and use for FREE. In-app purchases are free too. No ads. Amazon will pay the developers for use of the apps using the experimental scheme they launched with Kindle Unlimited earlier in the year. You must get the Underground version of the app, not the regular one. Amazon estimates a value of over $10,000 if you get them all.

Of those Underground apps, there are ten under Photography at the moment, including PhotoSuitePro 4, Perfectly Clear, pFolio, FlickFolio, etc. The Underground apps have a distinctive logo in their thumbnail as you can see below:

(…this turned into a long post, more after the jump…)
