At the moment this is a Prime members exclusive offer, Amazon itself is offering the DJI DJI-P3-Battery Intelligent Battery for Phantom 3 for $102 with free shipping. If you are not a Prime member, various 3rd-party sellers have it for this price and are Prime eligible (fulfilled by Amazon) but be sure to thoroughly vet them before buying if you are not familiar with them.

On the other hand, if you need both the DJI Phantom 3 AND an extra battery (which as you can see goes for $100 on its own), you can get them bundled up together for $450 at Adorama.

NewEgg offers new delivery option: your local FedEx Kinko’s

Just in time for the holidays, NewEgg is offering a new delivery option for your order, regardless of the shipping delivery speed you select. You can pick up your order at a local participating FedEx Kinko’s facility. In the “Review” stage of the Checkout process, you can select a FedEx location to receive your order. Look for something like this in that page, below your “Shipping Info” column:

There is no additional fee for this delivery option. Your shipping fee is whatever your default delivery fee is, which a lot of times it is free or close to free.

Another benefit of this is that if you live or work or travel to multiple locations on a regular basis, you can send your orders at where you are, instead of having them all go to your home address (assuming the delivery estimates work and such).

Stock Update: Olympus E-M1 II estimate moves to December 12

I just updated the Stock Status Tracker and it looks like the Olympus E-M1 II estimate is shifting deeper into December, it went from December 2 to 12 at two of the three retailers tracked. Amazon remains December 2nd but it’s possible that they haven’t updated their website with the new info yet, but Amazon is often slightly behind the specialty retailers in time-sensitive updates of this nature.

YMMV 8% eBay Bucks on $50+ items [must activate first]

eBay is back with another Bonus Bucks promotion, you earn 8% eBay Bucks on individual items priced at $50 or higher (that’s the item price, before taxes or shipping). As usual, you have to manually opt-in to the offer before you get the bonus. Also note that this may be offered to a subset of eBay users, either on a rotating basis or a “big data” basis, so that’s why I say YMMV since I have no way of knowing what percentage of eBay users is being offered this which expires Tuesday November 22 at 11:59pm pacific time.

A good place to look for ideas are the eBay Deals along with the Trending Deals (shows only 100 trending deals, less overwhelming to look at than their main deals page). There’s also a dedicated search box there that searches only the Deals, not everything else on eBay.

Black Friday Ads digested including Best Buy and Walmart

The majority of the published Black Friday ads that offer camera-and-photo related products have been “digested” at the 2016 Black Friday Ads Digest mega-post, including big chain stores like Best Buy, Target and Walmart. A few more stores will be added as they post their ads and also as I check semi-related stores that may have camera-related items (eg action cams or drones in outdoors stores).

This year’s post is organized by camera-type/product-type instead of by retailer, since most of the Black Friday ad scans you can find online (just use any search engine) are broken down by retailer anyway. So this is sort of a value-added re-organization of the offers.

The general trend is similar as previous years [see our 2015 breakdown for cross-reference], a few Canon and Nikon DSLRs are the main iLCs that get advertised along with fewer than before fixed lens P&S cameras. On the other hand, action cameras, drones, and instant film cameras are getting more ad attention. I may do a separate “analysis” post if there’s enough material to write about [most probably it will parallel/similar to our 2015 Grading the Ads].
