And now to something that doesn’t have anything to do with World Backup Day 🙂

If you like to learn new things without paying, Amazon is offering a number of FREE AWS courses. There’s a variety of courses. You “buy” them for $0, similar to how you get free Kindle e-books or free videos or mp3s at the Amazon website.

As of the time of writing these only work on desktops and laptops per the Amazon page (including Chromebooks). The course “runs” on Amazon’s website. I haven’t tried running it on a tablet with the browser in desktop mode to see if it works in such a configuration. Chromebooks are the new tablets, at least in the non-iOS world 🙂

AWS is Amazon Web Services. A good starting point might be their Cloud Essentials course…

Thursday: World BackUp Day (Storage) Sales!

This explains it. Today, March 31 (for those reading in the future, the year is 2022), is World Back Up Day! That explains the various storage offers…

… including at the Amazon USA Gold Box where they have two pages of Storage Sales including memory cards (SD, microSD), external HDDs, USB flash drives, Lexar card readers, portable SSDs, Kingston Fury RAM and a QNAP NAS too.

Participating brands include WD, Lexar, Sandisk, Samsung. HP, etc. A total of 42 products are participating, too many to list here individually. There’s even a 50-pack (!) of 32GB USB 2.0 PNY flash drives for $120. Find them all at the World BackUP Day Sales

Staying at Amazon’s Gauld Baux, they have a sale on select ASUS computers. A total of nine options, one of which is a ROG Strix desktop. The remaining laptops include a couple of Chromebooks, and some Zen and Tuf options too…
