If you are a fan of the EcoTank Epson printers, authorized Epson dealers are singing a $230 song. The new condition Epson Expression ET-2650 EcoTank AiO wireless printer is going for $230 at Adorama and Office Depot and B&H Photo and Amazon itself (limit one per customer).
Some things are selling out in the Olympus Outlet store but other things are coming in. On the small things front, the manufacturer refurbished Olympus Body Cap Lens 15mm is back in-stock for $30. I believe shipping is extra ($5) unless the order total is $100+, so if interested, you may also want to combine it with something else now or later.
B&H Photo has launched an Apple laptop doorbuster with two models participating, each one going for $1799, each one getting a free 1-yaer Microsoft Office 365 subscription and JBL headphones. They are:
+ Apple 15.4″ MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (Late 2016, Space Gray)
+ Apple 15.4″ MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (Late 2016, Silver)
+ 16GB RAM, 256GB PCie SSD, 2880 x 1800 Retina, AMD Radeon Pro 450 GPU (2GB GDDR5), 4 x Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type-C) Ports, etc
For more action, check the latest B&H featured sales.
If you want to warm up your credit cards for the upcoming onslaught, Adorama has a couple of doorbusters on Lowepro camera bags with free shipping as follows:
+ Lowepro Scout SH 100 Shoulder Bag for Mirrorless Camera with Lens and Smartphone, Slate Blue for $8
+ still continuing is the Lowepro Adventura 140 Shoulder Case for $10
For an executive summary of the latest deals, check our Black Friday 2017 Situation Room.
I mentioned these earlier in the week in the Chromebook posts, but we have an update on them today!
The official Samsung Black Friday Ad has been revealed and it in they reveal that starting on Saturday their Samsung Chromebook PRO (Intel) will drop to $450 and their PLUS (custom OP1 ARM for ChromeOS) will drop to $350. Both comes with an S-Pen stylus, touchscreen, 360 degree, two USB-C ports (no full size USB), Google Play integration, 3:2 aspect ratio, microoSD card, etc.
So this is the price to meet or beat right now! This give us five more days to research it and decide whether to jump in or not. I am definitely tempted! Both my Chromebook and Android tablet belong in a technology history museum, so this could replace both devices, and would let me do more serious blogging work on the go, not just lightweight stuff.
PS: one lesser known feature of ChromeOS is that you can login to multiple Google accounts at the same time, without having to logout and login over and over. You can even move Windows between the two accounts. Handy if you have work and personal accounts and/or multiple people in the same household using the computer interchangeably (eg during TV binging marathons). See Help page for details.
Another big discount this week. Last week the Fuji X-A10 with 16-50mm was going for $500 [see Mirrorless Price Charts]. This week it is down to $350 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon itself (limit 3) and B&H Photo (with free 32GB Extreme SD and Bag) and at Adorama.
This is certainly a nice price for a “take pictures with” kit as an entry-level entry-point in the Fuji X system. But the Fuji X system has been around for a while now, so you have more options in the used market if you prefer a more advanced camera. The Fuji X-T1 is in this ballpark used, but its new condition price dropped too this week, it is back down to $800 at B&H Photo. However a few weeks ago, Fuji had a promotion on the X-T1 at this price, with a free 35mm f2 lens. I do not know if they are planning to bring back this promotion for the holiday shopping season.
Meanwhile the Fuji X-A3 with 16-50mm remains at $550 (eg Adorama), just as it was last week. So reading the price change tea leaves, Fuji is encouraging shoppers towards the X-A10 at this time.
eBay is alternating these days between coupon promotions and eBay Bucks, and now it’s a new supersized holiday coupon promotion with over 120 eBay stores participating. Typically it’s half of that.
Using coupon code PSHOPEARLY in the eBay shopping cart, you can get 20% off eligible items from the 120+ participating retailers that have an individual price of $25+. The maximum discount is $50 off. In other words, items with an individual price of $250+ get a flat $50 off discount.
You can use the categories on the left hand side of the website over there to filter by various factors. There are over 3600 items under the Camera and Photo category. As usual, keep in mind that eBay is a Wild West marketplace, products are in various conditions, in various warranty situations and sellers are of varying quality and reliability 🙂
This is a longer-running coupon, it expires on Monday 11/20/17 at 11am ET. A weeklong coupon!
If you are planning a big book purchase, the Barnes & Noble website has a “Buy More, Save More” coupon. Coupon code YESANDYES gets you a discount based on your order total:
+ 10% off orders of $35+
+ 15% off orders of $75+
+ 20% off orders of $150+
+ expires Tuesday night
+ some exclusions apply as usual
Independently of the coupon, a redistribution of the old Apple Price Fixing e-Book Settlement is in progress, so if you find small store credits in your e-book seller accounts, this is probably it. They are stored as “gift cards”.
Strategically this is good for books and such that have the same price everywhere, whether they are big photography books or camera guides, or instructional guides. Publishers love having price control, so coupons like this are a good way to get a discount on books that are price fixed.
The Clearance section is another place to look for deals. You can drill down the sub-categories or go directly to the Photography Clearance section. There’s also this 30% – 75% off Clearance page.
But wait, there’s more! Barnes and Noble has over 90 leather bound Collectible Editions of various classics old and new, from Jane Austen to Star Wars and Dune and Alice in Wonderland and Lovecraft and more!
On the weightlifter’s zoom front, B&H Photo is offering the Tamron SP 150-600mm f5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 for $1299 with free expedited shipping and 4% promotional rewards (around $52 to be used in future B&H purchases), and a free item depending on mount:
+ Canon or Nikon: FREE Tamron TAP-in Console
+ Sony Alpha: B+W 95mm UV Haze SC 010 Filter
If you are not interested in the Tamron TAP-in console, Adorama is bundling it with lens-y accessories (filter kit and such and Corel software).
Speaking of Adorama and lenses, here’s a blended list of 840+ lenses that currently have various promotions on them.
The previous Lens Instant Savings post got crowded, so now we have a Part II with some of the other lens manufacturers!
+ Pentax K-Lenses: 42 options including 24-70/2.8 SDM for $1100, 70-200/2.8 AW for $1600, 100/2.8 WR Macro for $500, etc
+ Sigma Lenses (various systems): 96 options including 17-50/2.8 DC OS HSM for $369, 105/2.8 HSM Macro for $569 and many more
+ Olympus M43 lenses: 15 options including 30/3.5 Macro for $199
+ Samyang Lenses (various systems): 49 options with a mix of photography-priority and video-priority lenses
+ Rokinon Lenses (various systems): 92 options with a mix of photography-priority and video-priority lenses including Sony E-system autofocus lenses
+ CORRECTED: an “option swith” is “options with” with the “s” at the wrong place 🙂
More on these later on, as, unfortunately, I am not IBM’s Watson and I cannot “digest” hundreds of lenses (over 500 of them in these two posts) on the fly. Not to mention that glass causes indigestion. Mayhaps I’ll start with the plastic lenses first 🙂
A number of new lens instant savings promotions are running at the moment! You can find them nicely organized at Adorama as follows:
+ Fuji X System: 58 options
+ Tokina (mostly Canon and Nikon): 17 options
+ Canon EF/EF-S lenses: 38 lenses and three flashes
+ Nikon F lenses: 9 options
+ Zeiss Batis and Loxia: 8 options
+ Panasonic M43 Lenses: 31 options
BUT that’s not all! There’s more instant savings from other manufacturers as well, rounded up separately: Pentax, Olympus, Rokinon, Samyang and of course Shiguma (Sigma).
Studio gear don’t get as much love as cameras and lenses, but B&H Photo has now created a 2-day Studio Lighting Sale running until Tuesday night (11/14/17) at 11:59pm ET. There are many and more products participating from various brands (iKan, LitePanels, Genaray, Fotodiox, Lowel, Elinchrom, Dracast, Interfit, etc) and in various categories (LED, Strobe, Tungsten, Fluo, etc).
You can use the tabs under the bright lights banner over there to filter them by price range, or product category, and sort them by price or popularity. No coupon is needed, no rebates, the price you see is the price you pay.
In addition to the previously highlighted Panasonic Cameras on sale this week, a number of Panasonic M43 lenses are also joining the discounting party, you can find them nicely organized under the “Lenses” tab at B&H Photo.
A total of a dozen lenses are on sale including:
+ 12-35/2.8 II for $898, 35-100/2.8 for $998, 7-14/4 for $798
+ 30/2.8 Macro OIS for $298, 42.5/1.2 OIS for $1398, 42.5/1.7 for $348
+ they also earn 4% promotional rewards
+ see them all under the “Lenses” tab at B&H Photo
As of 11/16/17 AM recheck, this sold out…
Dolica has opened their own modest Amazon store (some but not all of the items fulfilled by Amazon (Prime eligible)) and among those offers is their new condition Dolica LA600 Pro 60-Inch Aluminum Alloy Traveler Edition Tripod going for $40 with free shipping for all.
As of a 11/16/17 AM recheck, this sold out at the $399 price. Supplies of used cameras are limited so they run out differently than new condition prices. Also prices are more volatile since they depend on more factors…
If you are comfortable with heavily used and scratched cameras that are still functional though, Adorama has the used Fuji X-T1 body only in “Used – Good” condition for $399 plus shipping (around $10) with a 90-day Adorama warranty and a 30-day return policy. If you don’t see it in the listings, it means it sold out since this was posted. Used supplies are typically limited.
The above may be of interest if you are looking for a non-entry-level entry into the Fuji X-system. On the other hand, if you prefer a “take pictures with” kit, the Fuji X-A10 with 16-50mm goes for $350 at various sellers including Amazon by Amazon itself (limit 3) and B&H Photo (with free 32GB Extreme SD and Bag) and at Adorama.
