Nikon 50mm f1.8G with Extras for $177

The Nikon 50mm f/1.8G lens is bundled with some free extras for $177 with free shipping at Adorama. There are even two different freebie bundles, but one is a subset of the other, so this bigger bundle is a better offer: you get a 58mm Pro-Optic Digital Essentials Filter Kit, a lens-cap tether, a cleaning kit, and a Corel software kit (including Aftershot PRO 2, Paintshop Pro X9, and VideoStudio 9).

If you don’t want/need the extra accessories, you can get it for the same price with 4% promotional rewards at B&H Photo or 5% back as a statement credit for Prime members paying with Store Card or Chase VISA at Amazon itself

Planet Earth II (4K) [Blu-ray] for $35

If you love nature photography and videography, and want to put that 4K HDTV or Computer Display to work, the Planet Earth II (4K) [Blu-ray] is on sale for $35 at Amazon by Amazon itself. This is not a lightning deal, and you can buy as many as you want.

10-pocket SCOTTeVEST microfleece hoodie for $45 (three sizes only)

If you like to fill up your jacket with a variety of camera and photo accessories, there’s the classic photographer vest, but there’s also the SCOTTeVEST Hoodie Microfleece. This 10-pocket SCOTTeVEST is currently on sale for $45 with free shipping fulfilled by Amazon and Prime eligible. SCOTTeVEST is the Amazon seller. Only three sizes are currently available: Small, Medium, and XXX-Large.

GoPro HERO5 Black drops to $349

The GoPro HERO5 Black action camera is now down to $349 with free shipping at a number of retailers including Amazon itself and Adorama and B&H Photo.

PS: as usual with Amazon, if you are a Prime member and pay with either the Amazon Chase VISA or the Amazon Prime Store credit card, you get 5% as a statement credit. These are on the purchases overall, they are not limited to items sold and shipped by Amazon itself.

New 10.5-inch iPad PRO starts at $650, while Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 bundle gets discounted

Today’s 2.5 hour Apple Keynote at the 2017 World Wide Developer’s Conference ended but you can watch/rewatch it (and even watch it along with my live-trolling live-tweeting). One of the new things it brought us was a new 10.5 inch iPad PRO with faster everything, Pencil compatibility, iOS 11, dedicated tablet features, proper File Manager app, more multi-tasking, etc. Prices start at $650 for the new 10.5″ model.

But if you are of the Android persuasion, they have a discount to counter, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 (with the S-Pen included as standard) is bundled the Samsung Keyboard Cover, all together for $562 by Amazon itself.

B&N coupon: 10% off $40+ OR 15% off $60+

Another coupon is live at the Barnes and Noble website, get 10% to 15% Off one Item With Code THANKSDAD by the end of day on 6/7/17. Orders over $60 get 15% off, while orders over $40 get 10% off. Strategically this is good for items that have the same prices everywhere or rarely go on sale. Free shipping with $25+ orders or if you are a paying member ($25/year).

The Clearance section is another place to look for deals. You can drill down the sub-categories or go directly to the Photography Clearance section.

Refurbished Nikon D7200 Body w/90-day warranty for $650

The new Nikon D7500 APS-C DSLR is now in-stock and shipping for $1250 as a body-only, but if you prefer to pay half of that and get a previous generation model, then to the eBay Deals we go…

… where the Buydig eBay store (99%, New Jersey) is offering the manufacturer refurbished Nikon D7200 body only for $650 with free shipping and a 90-day Nikon USA warranty. Limit five units per customer.

Strategically, this is not an unreasonable strategy. Once a model is no longer “the latest model”, going for a manufacturer refurbished ~ as long as it has a solid discount over the new-condition ~ is a good way to make the most of your $$$. As long as you are comfortable with refurbished and such.
