The grey market (imported cameras without manufacturer’s USA warranty) party continues at the eBay Deals, this time it is Get It Digital (99.7%) offering the new condition imported grey-market Sony Zeiss 55m f1.8 FE Sonnar T* lens for the E-mount offered for $740 with free shipping with a limit of five per customer. It comes with a three year warranty from Get It Digital, not Sony USA. Over 500 units sold so far from this eBay listing.

The warranty is described in the eBay listing as:

Amazon is very big on cloud (side-effects of living in Seattle?), and now they have yet another unlimited cloud storage promotion. This one is not limited to Prime members or Fire Phone users. During this promotion, you get One Year Unlimited Amazon Cloud storage if you purchase camera gear individually priced $50 or more. This is The List of Eligible Items, a total of 33,403 items are eligible.

They must be sold and shipped by Amazon itself (not by marketplace sellers). The offer is one per customer, so you cannot stack cloud-years. You can find the Terms And Conditions below the giant thumbnails over there. The expiration date is not mentioned.

Ten premium Photography Apps FREE (with free in-app purchases) as part of the new Amazon Underground

The Amazon free premium Android-y app of the day is DEAD. But it has a more user-friendly replacement. It is called the Amazon Underground. Hundreds of premium (normally for pay) Android apps are available for you to download and use for FREE. In-app purchases are free too. No ads. Amazon will pay the developers for use of the apps using the experimental scheme they launched with Kindle Unlimited earlier in the year. You must get the Underground version of the app, not the regular one. Amazon estimates a value of over $10,000 if you get them all.

Of those Underground apps, there are ten under Photography at the moment, including PhotoSuitePro 4, Perfectly Clear, pFolio, FlickFolio, etc. The Underground apps have a distinctive logo in their thumbnail as you can see below:

AmazonBasics Compact Camera Case drops to $2.09

The small AmazonBasics Compact Camera Case was going for $2.57 when we mentioned it last week. As of the time of writing, it has dropped to $2.09, and Amazon has removed the typical limit of 30 per customer. You can buy up to 90 of these per shopping cart. It is still part of the Add-On program, so you need to place an order of $25+ in physical goods shipped/fulfilled by Amazon, otherwise the shopping cart won’t let you buy it. I am also keeping an eye towards the ever-increasing number of other AmazonBasics camera bags in case they too get discounted.

PS: for more on the Add-On program and such, check the longer post of last week. Because if I try to summarize it, I will end up writing an even longer post 🙂

PS2: I added one of these to my last Amazon order so I can get a better feel of its actual physical size. I will post another post after it arrives… UPDATE: here is the update that was promised, it turned into a long filibustery description…

Next Free Entrance at National Parks is September 26

Ooops, I am definitely not Doctor Who – time confusion, August 25 was yesterday. But the next free day is about a month away, September 26 in 2015 (National Public Lands Day), plenty of time to plan ahead, since planning ahead for -1 days (August 25) is slightly difficult without the use of a Tardis…

If you live near one of the 127 national parks (out of 408 total) that charge admission/entrance, on specific days every year (MLK, Prez weekend, Park Week, National Park Service Birthday, Public Lands Day, Veterans Day), you can get FREE admission. Not by design, but we seem to have a bit of printer and paper theme today. To locate the eligible items traverse their selection of Photo Papers.
