Warning: The : EBL 920D LCD Rapid Individual Battery Charger / Discharger was reviewed at Amazon by “NLee the engineer” on April 10. His review was for this charger bundled with four EBL purported low-self-discharge NiMH batteries, so it doesn’t appear among the reviews for today’s deal, but the charger is the same. The $8.49 price is low, but anyone contemplating purchase of this charger should read NLee’s review first. (His Eneloops review review of a few years back was the most detailed, thorough and thoughtful product review of any kind I’ve ever read of. It was actually an education about rechargeable batteries that has served me well, and I have the highest respect for his reviews.)

NLee’s bottom line on the EBL 920D:

“On the surface this EBL 920D looks like an advanced charger, but it is so flakey it cannot perform basic charging task reliably. The EBL batteries have high capacity numbers, but they are NOT low-self-discharge type as advertised. Therefore I find this package completely unacceptable. My advice is to get a less flashy but more reliable charger, such as the BQ-CC17 in Panasonic K-KJ17MCA4BA instead.”

Glad to help, but I’m red-faced at the flubbed editing, with repeated words and truncated sentence. What I intended to write was that NLee’s Eneloops review was the most detailed, thorough and thoughtful of any product review I’ve ever read online.
