The other options (M43rds, Canon EF-M, Leica L) are not part of the sale (they go for $400).

Sony E fans, in mid-January 2021 you can have in your hands a brand new f2.8 zoom lens for the APS-C E system! That’s when the estimate is for the release of the just-announced Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 Di III-A VC RXD lens. It has a pre-order price of $799 and already B&H Photo is accepting pre-orders…

Interesting decision to release a brand new APS-C lens in a world where full frame E-system cameras are close in price to the higher tier APS-C E-system cameras. But for those who are bought into the APS-C E-system, certainly having a compact(er) f2.8 17-70mm (25-105mm eq) lens can be quite tempting

Shiguma strikes again with a new line-up of lenses, the I-series. These are mirrorless-exclusive full-frame compact-priority lenses and they are coming out for the Sony E and Leica L 35mm-full-frame mirrorless systems. The three lenses are:

Sony Black Friday Instant Savings (86 options)

We already mentioned some of them individually, but there’s plenty more in the Sony Black Friday offers. Sony complicated mail-in promotion with conditions: Buy 2 or More participating Sony Lenses, Own a qualifying Sony Full-Framer, and Get Mail-In Rebate Per Lens

Sony is running a little bit of a convoluted “buy more save more” type of a promotion until December 6 in 2020. The start of the promotional period was September 1st in 2020. Items need not to be purchased from the same retailer or the same date.

The offer requires:

  • Buy 2 or more Sony Lenses from this eligible list of options; new condition authorized dealer only, no open-box, no used, no refurbished – look for them at B&H Photo
  • You Must Own a Sony Full Frame camera from this list A7S III, A7R III, A7R IV, A9, A9 II; purchase time does not matter for this, you could also buy the camera together with the lenses
  • you must enter the information (serial numbers, etc) at the promotional Sony page
  • you will receive $100 to $200 per eligible lens; the amounts per lens are predetermined (typically the more expensive the lens, the higher the rebate)
  • you will receive the amount in about 2 months as a prepaid VISA gift card
  • check all the terms conditions and restrictions before jumping in

Separately, Sony is running a promotion that if you own an eligible Sony camera and purchase a Sony Xperia 1 II or 5 II, you get a rebate of $150 or $120. Eligible Also a 12/6/20 expiration date… Details via the PDF file at the Xperia 1 II product page at B&H, which as of the time of writing it gets a $100 B&H gift card as well…
