Buy Olympus E-M1 body and a Zuiko Four Thirds Macro Prime (35/3.5 or 50/2), Get the MMF-3 Four Thirds Adapter for FREE

The GetOlympus store has an intermediate level deal going on right now. Especially of interest if you live at the intersection of M43rds and Four Thirds… The camera is M43, the lenses are Four Thirds below…

If you purchase the Olympus E-M1 body only (Micro Four Thirds) together with either one of these two Four Thirds Lenses (Zuiko 35mm f3.5 or 50mm f2 macro), and the MMF-3 Four Thirds adapter, the price of the MMF-3 adapter will be deducted from your total. Of interest if you use both M43 and Four Thirds or are happy to use the Zuiko prime with the MMF-3 adapter.

The steps are simple. Let’s break it down:

  1. Add the Olympus E-M1 body only (select color) to the shopping cart
  2. add either the Zuiko 35mm f3.5 macro (Four Thirds Lens) or the Zuiko 50mm f2 macro (Four Thirds Lens)
  3. add the MMF-3 Four Thirds adapter to the shopping cart
  4. click the yellow Proceed to Checkout button (page-down over there if you don’t see it)
  5. the price of the MMF-3 adapter ($179.99) will be deducted from your total
  6. no coupon/rebate – discount happens automatically while this promotion is running

Example
In the example below, we have in the shopping cart the E-M1 body only ($1100), the MMF-3 adapter ($180), and the 35mm f3.5 Zuiko ($230). Their total is $1510. Then the price of the MMF-3 is deducted from the total, making it $1330.

Olympus E-M5 w/14-42mm Elite with free Oben Tripod w/Ball head for $500

If you are in the middle of long deliberations on whether to get the first generation Olympus E-M5 with 14-42mm for $500, B&H Photo has just added a new incentive: the Elite E-M5 w/14-42mm kit also includes a free Oben AC-1321 3-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-106 Ball Head which goes for $85 on its own (averages 4.7 out of 5 based on 27 customer reviews there). The first generation E-M5 is no longer the “latest model” since Olympus released the all new E-M5 II (second generation) going for $1000 as body only. With twice the price, and that’s before you factor in the 14-42mm lens and Oben tripod, it creates a 2-for-1 trade-off.

When we posted the Mirrorless Price Chart at the end of 2014, the price of the Olympus E-M5 body only was $1000. Fast forward to now (*gasp* it’s 2.5 months later, where did all the time go? *gasp*) and the E-M5 body only is down to $600 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon itself (limit 2 per color) and B&H Photo (with 4% reward = $24) and Adorama (with 4% reward = $24) and Best Buy upon eBay and Nuevo Huevo.

One of the reasons the E-M5 is down to $600 is because the new E-M5 II has been revealed with an early-adopter price of $1100 (pre-orders at Amazon et al).

Pre-order time for Olympus. They have revealed a brand new E-M-series cameras, the new E-M5 II body only with a 16mp LiveMOS sensor, 10fps, 3″ tilting LCD, dust/splash-proofness, and more. The starting price is $1100 and it is available for pre-order, in black or silver color-schemes, at Adorama and B&H Photo and Amazon itself.

The E-M5 II also gets its very own underwater housing, model PT-EP13, with a pre-order price of $1000, and the HLD-8 Power Battery Holder with a pre-order price of $280.

Also new is the M.Zuiko ED 14-150mm f4-5.6 II Lens, dust and splashproof, with a pre-order price of $600 at B&H Photo and Adorama.

Also coming along for the ride is another waterproof P&S digital camera, the new Tough TG-860 with a pre-order price of $280. Action cameras and waterproof cameras are apparently surviving the onslaught of smartphones.
