But if you are more of a risk taker and comfortable with imported grey-market items, among the latest eBay Deals, eBay seller “Electronics Valley” (99.6%) is offering the new condition imported grey-market with a 1-year seller warranty (not Fuji USA) Fuji X-T1 body only for $700 with free shipping. On that listing, you can also select the X-T1 with 18-55mm for $1150. Change the “MPN” option in the menu to switch between the two. It shows product numbers instead of human-readable model names, but there are only two options, 16421452 (Body Only),16432786 (Body+18-135mm Lens).

Kudos to this eBay seller for clearly filling in the warranty details in the eBay “Item Specifics” where it specifies that it does not come with a manufacturer warranty and that it is an import item with a 1-year seller warranty. Also kudos for having a big banner further down the product description saying this is an “IMPORT MODEL”. Annotated screenshot crop below:

This is a step in the right direction for retailers: giving the consumer all the information needed to make an informed decision.

Imported Fuji X-T10 body only with 1-Year seller warranty for $500

The Fuji X-T10 body only goes for $800 or for $900 with the 16-50 at authorized Fuji USA dealers (eg Adorama).

But if you are more of a risk taker, among the latest eBay Deals, seller “Electronics Valley” (99.5%, New Jersey) is offering the new condition imported grey-market Fuji X-T10 body only for $500 with free shipping, in black or silver, with a 1-year warranty from the seller (not from Fuji USA).

I don’t mean to sound like a broken record, but when buying imported items, don’t just buy them because it’s a much lower price. Make sure you are comfortable with the risks and trade-offs of such purchases. Ultimately you are the one who is going to have to sleep and live with the decision and as such, you are the ultimate decider of what’s an acceptable risk to take. (all apologies if this may sound a little Nanny-State-ish but some people may not be familiar with the whole imported vs authorized kerfuffle. In situations like this it is mayhaps better to err on the side of caution).
