Canon announced not one but two new RAWsumers, the G5X and the G9X with starting prices of $800 and $500 respectively. As of the time of writing, these are in-stock at multiple retailers, including:
+ Canon G5X: B&H Photo and Adorama and Amazon (price is $800, ignore the $450 after MIR, it is WRONG!)
+ G9X silver-brown: B&H Photo and various at Amazon and OneCall
+ G9X black: B&H Photo and various at Amazon (price is $500, ignore the $150 after MIR, it is WRONG!)
Red flag alert! There’s a problem with the way Amazon calculates prices for Canon digital cameras that are eligible for the Canon Pixma combined purchase mail-in rebates. The after rebate prices are incorrectly shown on camera-only kits. These won’t fly since the Canon mail-in rebates specifically require a camera + printer purchase.
Here’s an example of a broken price box, using the Canon G5X as our guinea pig:

The official Canon Outlet sale is having another refurbished DSLR sale going on. As usual, their refurbished items sold over there include a one year Canon warranty. There are 21 options, three of which are Lenses and on page #2. Among others:

I won’t post separate posts for each camera participating in the Canon Outlet store refurbished sale but I will highlight a couple of the offers. In a galaxy near and not-so-far, the white refurbished Canon SL1 with 18-55 IS STM for $300 with free shipping and a one year warranty.
On the other hand, if you prefer more lenses, the refurbished black SL1 two lens kit with the 18-55 IS STM and the 40mm f2.8 pancake go for $380 with free shipping and a one year warranty.
There are some bang for the buck D-Rebel offers at the refurbished Canon Outlet store. For just $230, you can get the refurbished Canon D-Rebel T5 with 18-55 II IS, with a one year warranty.
Above the entry-level, the good old refurbished Canon D-Rebel T5i with 18-55 IS STM is offered for $400 with a one year warranty. Or you can get a two lens kit with the 40mm f2.8 pancake added for $480.
As of a 10/31/15 recheck, this offer ended with 300 units sold…

eBay has semi-curated featured sales on different products and categories, and among them, there is a featured sale on Canon Gear with 143 options. It features a mix of DSLRs and Powershots, among others. The menu on the left hand side of that page can help filter them some.

At authorized dealers, Canon has a new promotion running between October 11 in 2015 and January 9 in 2016. Select products (the ones mentioning they are eligible for this on their product pages) will receive 13-months of Canon’s CarePak Plus services, offering 13 months of Damage Protection and Priority service. You have to manually activate the offer after you make an eligible purchase.
Canon has not one but two new G X-series 1-inch compact with RAW cameras today. On the higher end of the spec spectrum, the G5 X comes with a 1-inch 20mp sensor with a 4.2x optical zoom lens (24-100mm f1.8-2.8) with EVF and control ring and more. It is available for pre-order for $800 at Amazon by Amazon itself with an October 23 (2015) release estimate… This has been added to the New Cameras of 2015 Tracking page…
The compact with RAW action continues on Canon’s front with the brand new G9 X with a 1-inch 20mp sensor and a 3x optical zoom lens (28-84mm eq, f2-4.9). Said camera is now available for pre-order for $500 in either the silver-brown color-scheme or the black color-scheme. Canon is back with yet another new mirrorless camera, it is the new EOS M10. It is available in either black or white color schemes. It is available in two kits, the M10 w/15-45mm STM for $600, and the M10 two lens kit (18-55, 55-200) for $850. Release estimate is October 23 (2015 that is)… This has been added to the New Cameras of 2015 tracking page…

When it comes to the Canon 7D Mark II, the decision is more tricky between refurbished with one year warranty VERSUS brand new at authorized dealers. So let me present to you the options, and as usual, “we blog, you decide/deride” 🙂
At the refurbished Canon USA store sales, the 7D Mark II body only goes for $1200, while the 7D Mark II with 18-135mm goes for $1450. They come with a one year Canon USA warranty.
Now, the new condition price for the 7D Mark II body only at authorized Canon USA dealers is $1500, however, running in parallel are the Canon Pixma AMEX bundles. So if you do not object to mail-in rebates and prepaid AMEX gift cards, there are trade-offs to be made. For example, this Adorama 7D Mark II body only bundle is $1250 after $350 mail-in rebate (prepaid AMEX gift card) and includes the 7D Mark II body only kit, the Pixma Pro 100 printer, 50pk 13×19″ photo paper, 32GB SD and New Leaf.

If you don’t need the extra accessories and want to prioritize on lower out of pocket price, you can get the Canon S120 in manufacturer refurbished condition with a one year Canon USA warranty for $280 from the Canon USA official store refurbished Powershot sale.
