I just updated the Stock Status tracking page and as of this update, these cameras are in-stock at their standard prices at at least one major retailer: Nikon D500 w/16-50, Nikon D5 (both), Canon 1D X II Body Only (CFast bundle). The CFast bundle currently goes for the same price as the standard 1D X II body-only.
Zoom-zoom! The Canon 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 IS EF-S is available in refurbished condition with a 1-year Canon USA warranty for $399 with free expedited shipping at B&H Photo.
If you are curious about the Canon Mirrorless system, there’s a practical bundle available at Adorama. They offer the Canon M3 with the 18-55mm lens and EF-EOS M lens mount adapter for $599 with free expedited shipping. But you are not done yet. Expand the yellow “Special Offer” segment. The first option there is to add the Canon EVF-DC1 Electronic Viewfinder (for G1 X Mark II, G3X & EOS M3 Cameras) for just $2.58 more. Just press the blue “Add to Bundle” button and then below it the green “Add Bundle to Cart” and proceed as usual.
Annotated screenshot crop below if you are not familiar with the layout of their website:
NOTE!!!: this is a YMMV promotion. I have no way of knowing how many people are eligible.
If you have an Amazon Chase VISA credit card and you are eligible for this promotion (detailed post explains the promotion ~ I don’t want to repeat the whole post) and logged on to your eligible Amazon account, there is a super hot deal [you will only see the offer if you are eligible] for the Canon 80D with 18-135mm kit [this is the camera’s page, everyone will see this].
The standard Amazon price is $1600. You add the Canon 80D with 18-135mm kit to the shopping cart, make sure your payment method is the Amazon Chase VISA credit card, and enter coupon code ARC20SPRING there. The price will drop by 20% in the right sidebar of the Amazon Checkout page, making it $1279~ with free shipping. This has to be sold and shipped by Amazon itself, not 3rd-party sellers.
If it doesn’t, it means the promotion is not working, either because you are not eligible or you are using a different payment method or Amazon is not the actual seller or for other reason(s) that I am not aware of.
If all is well, it should look like this:
Again, please note this is a YMMV type of an offer, I have no way of testing this at a grand scale. I tested with an account with the Chase VISA card, one without it, and not being logged on to Amazon.
IF you tried this and it worked or didn’t please let us know in the comments!
YMMV Amazon Chase VISA cardholders: Canon D-Rebel T6 w/18-55 for $400 OR T5 w/18-55 for $320 [or both for $720]
NOTE!!!: this is a YMMV promotion!
If you have an Amazon Chase VISA credit card and you are eligible for this promotion (detailed post explains the promotion), there is a super hot deal [you will only see the offer if you are eligible] that will get you the:
To get that:
+ must be eligible for the promotion
+ you have to pay with the Amazon Chase VISA credit card
+ then enter coupon code ARC20SPRING in the shopping cart (20% off the current price)
+ camera must be sold and shipped by Amazon itself (not 3rd-party sellers)
If all is well, you will see this at the top right corner of the Amazon Checkout page. In this example below, both D-Rebel T5 and T6 kits are in the shopping cart. You can buy either one or both or any other combination of eligible items apparently:
To the Chaos and Disorder that is the eBay Deals we return, where eBay seller “Electronics Valley” (99.6%, ships from New Jersey) is offering new condition imported grey-market Canon 80D body only with a 1-year warranty from the seller (not Canon USA) for $900 with free shipping with a limit of five units per customer.
So you are trading off $300 for the Canon USA warranty. It’s a numbers and risk tolerance type of a decision. Also a sleep better at night type of a decision 🙂 The new condition from authorized dealers goes for $1200 with free accessories.
If you are looking to buy the Canon 80D body only from an authorized dealer while still paying the Canon-blessed price of $1200, you can get five free accessories at Amazon by Amazon itself: a 16GB Lexar 633x SDHC card, an AmazonBasics Large DSLR Gadget Bag, a Wasabi charger and two Wasabi batteries (in addition to the standard Canon charger/battery that comes in the box). The Wasabi items are NOT edible… The same bundles are available for the other two 80D kits ~ simply click on their tabs to “move” to that listing…
A different set of free accessories is available at B&H Photo: a 16GB Sandisk ExTrEmE SDHC card, a Ruggard Shoulder Bag and a Watson battery.
PS: if you prefer imported, the next post (above this one if looking at the blog or in an RSS feed) has an imported grey market offer.
Canon is rolling out a brand new lens for their Mirrorless System (yes, they have one), the Canon 28mm f3.5 Macro IS STM EF-M is available for pre-order for $299 with free shipping with a late June 2016 release estimate at Adorama and B&H Photo and Amazon itself.
This too has been added to the New Cameras and Lenses of 2016 tracking page.
It is the weekend, among along with it comes another Canon USA store sale that includes a number of refurbished Canon SLR Lenses. The ones on sale have their price shown in “red cyber ink”. Among them:
+ 50mm f1.8 STM EF for $90
+ 55-200mm f4-5.6 IS STM EF-S for $130
+ 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS STM EF for $400
+ 50mm f1.4 EF for $270
+ the above are refurbished with a 1-year Canon USA warranty
+ there are five pages in the Lenses page, increase the “Items per Page” or make sure you check them all
In parallel they have a refurbished DSLR sale with the 5DS R body going for $3000, 5DS for $2800, the T6s (the name, not plural) w/18-135 for $800, 6D body for $1100, 7D II body for $1200, D-Rebel T5 two lens kit (18-55/75-300) for $290, etc. There are two pages of sale items.
Please note that at the moment there is another 1D X II kit going for the same price that includes a CF Card and Card reader. That one is not in-stock yet.
The Canon G9 X compact with RAW goes for $400 at authorized Canon dealers, but they are allowed to add free accessories with purchase. If you are an accessories hoarder or if you would like to try the Corel digital imaging software AND you also want the Canon G9 X, all three bundled together in a big bundle at Adorama for $399 PLUS shipping (around $11 from East to West Coast, enter zipcode to get accurate estimate).
The extra shipping fee translates to the Corel software bundle that includes AfterShot PRO 2 and Paintshop X8 PRO (and a few other non-imaging titles), along with a 58-inch Takama tripod with 3-way head, a Lowepro pouch, a 32GB Lexar card, and the obligatory cleaning kit.
Part of the Cinco de Mayo celebrations, Adorama is offering 5% promotional rewards on select DSLRs and Mirrorless models. The offer is good until 5/9/16. The promotional rewards are in addition to any other free accessories the camera may be eligible for. Participating kits include the Nikon D5300 and D5500 and J5, the Canon D-Rebel T5 and T5i, and the Panasonic GM5.
Import cameras are frequent “guests” at the eBay Deals and we have another one of those bubbling around now. eBay seller “Get It Digital” (99.4%, ships from Brooklyn) is offering the new condition imported grey-market Canon 6D body only for $1100 with free shipping with a limit of five per customer. There is no mention of any warranty of this in the eBay listing.
Canon’s free 13-month CarePAK (free accidental damage protection for select registered products) has been extended until the end of July 2016. You can learn about the plan at Canon’s website and you can see a list of eligible Canon DSLRs and Lenses for this promotion at B&H Photo. Eligible items include the full frame DSLRs, the 7D Mark II, and a few lenses. You have to manually register for the promotion after purchase though, it does not activate automatically.
After the early adapters are fed at the trough of time (vomit-worthy poetic imagery here!), newly released digital cameras start getting free accessories with purchase, often before the first discounts arrive. Such is the case with the Canon 80D kits, all three official kits (body $1200, w/18-55 $1350, w/18-135 $1600) are getting three free accessories at B&H Photo: extra Watson battery, 16GB Extreme SDHC, and shoulder bag.
On the other hand, if you are the mail-in rebate and gift card type, there is one such bundle centered around the 80 body only at Adorama. You pay $1600 at checkout, and receive the Canon 80D body only, the Pixma PRO 100 printer, its trusty sidekick (50pk 13×19″ SG-201 photo paper), a 32GB Lexar SD card, and an extra 3rd-party charger with two 3rd-party batteries. After you make sure all is well, you submit the mail-in rebate, and if all is well, a few weeks later you will receive a $350 prepaid American Express Gift Card by snail mail, making it a $1250 after $350 MIR offer.
If you are interested in refurbished Canon SLR lenses that come with a 1-year warranty from Canon, they have a sale on a number of them (the ones on sale have a price in red ink) at the official Canon Outlet store. Unlike Amazon, the Canon Outlet store won’t let you buy out of stock items, so it’s finders keepers for these type of deals.
You can sort price (high or low) or alphabetical (either direction) or by “recommended”. You can also increase the items per view to up to 72 if you are on a bigger screen and computer with enough power to handle a bigger page.
Bubbling in the eBay Top 100 Trending Deals, the BuyDig eBay Store is offering a new condition USA-authorized Canon 80D PiXMA MIR bundle. You pay $1200 at checkout. You receive the Canon 80D body only, the Pixma PRO 100 printer, its sidekick 50pk 13×19″ photo paper, and a 64GB SD card. Then you submit the mail-in rebate, and if all is well, a few weeks later you receive a $350 prepaid American Express gift card, making this a $850 after $350 MIR promotion.
Please note BuyDig is closed for Passover, so orders will be shipped after they reopen in May 2016. The eBay listing there has a delivery estimate based on that and your delivery address (if you are logged on with your eBay account).
Among the longer non-daily deals at Woot, there is a mini camera sale good until 4/28/16 at 12am central featuring three models:
+ new condition Canon SX530 HS superzoom for $190
+ refurbished yellow Fuji XP80 waterproof for $90
+ refurbished white Fuji Instax Mini 8 instant camera for $50
The limit is three of each camera per customer. Shipping is $5 flat for everything you buy from Woot in April 2016, so if you already bought something, you won’t pay shipping again in April 2016. This may be an experiment to try a monthly/annual membership or a competitive counter to the $5 per month Meh.com MVP plan (they funnily call is VMP rather ironically!).
Among the many NAB Specials at B&H there are some DSLR Video bundles that include accessories help with DSLR Audio/Video, such as mics and such. There are bundles centered around three different DSLRs, the Nikon D750 kits and the Canon 7D Mark II kits and the Canon 5D Mark III kits. Most of the NAB specials expire 4/21.
Also note that B&H offices will be closed starting 7pm ET on 4/21/16 and will reopen 5/1/16 at 10am.
Canon 80D body and Pixma PRO 100 printer and Paper and 32GB Lexar and Extra Batteries and Charger for $1100 after $350 MIR (prepaid AMEX GC)
It’s not just older Canon DSLRs participating in the Canon PIXMA mail-in rebates. It is also the brand new Canon 80D offered in a bundle for $1100 after a $350 mail-in rebate (prepaid American Express Gift Card) at Adorama. You get the Canon 80D body only and the Pixma PRO 100 printer and 50pk SG-201 13×19″ photo paper and two extra batteries and extra charger and a 32GB Lexar SDHC card.
This too is one of their featured Wearhouse Sales.
The Canon Pixma mail-in rebates are also good for some of the Canon RAWsumers. The Canon G9 X goes for $400 on its own at authorized dealers, but if you also want the Pixma PRO 100 printer and don’t object to mail-in rebates (prepaid American Express gift card), you can get it for $350 after a $350 mail-in rebate at Adorama. This includes the standard Canon G9 X kit, the Pixma PRO 100 printer, its trusty SG-201 sidekick (50pk 13×19″ paper) and camera bag and 32GB Sandisk card.
If you just need the Canon Pixma PRO 100 printer and don’t need any of the DSLR bundles that it is typically offered with, there is a limited promotion on the printer alone at B&H Photo. The price you see on the page is $400. The $250 mail-in rebate makes it a $150 after MIR shown on the page. Then you use coupon code BHNAB16 at B&H checkout to drop by the price by making it a $100 after a $250 mail-in rebate (prepaid American Express Gift Card). It comes with its trusty sidekick, the Canon SG-201 (50pk of 13×19″ photo paper)… This coupon, like many of the B&H NAB specials expires on 4/21/16…
Canon D-Rebel T5i w/18-55 & 75-300 & Pixma PRO 100 & Paper for $450 after $350 MIR (prepaid AMEX GC)
There’s another Canon D-Rebel Pixma MIR bundle at Adorama, this time it is centered around the Canon D-Rebel T5i with the 18-55 IS STM and 75-300mm f4-5.6 III non-USM lenses, along with the Pixma PRO 100 printer and 50pk SG-201 13×19″ photo paper. This runaway sentence is included as well 🙂

No coupon is needed, the prices will be adjusted by their system automatically. Price check these since 50% off may or may not be a good deal depending on the paper. At the same time they will also have a promotion that gets you 25% back in Staples Rewards (if you are a Rewards member), so the combination (assuming photo paper is eligible), could make it a good deal. The promotion is limit two per customer but you can visit the stores multiple times. Keep that wig and fake mustache handy 😉
The EF Mount is trying to kill the Video Star perhaps 🙂 Which brings us to a brand new square don’t-call-me-RED-competitor EF-mount blocky camera from Canon, the Canon ME200S-SH Multi-Purpose Video & Still Super35mm Camera, available for pre-order for $5000 at Adorama. Coming along with it is the brand new Canon Compact-Servo 18-80mm T4.4 EF Lens available for pre-order for $5225.

Canon 5D Mark III with 24-70mm f4L IS and Pixma PRO 100 and 50pk 13×19″ and $130 Rewards and Lowepro and Sandisk for $2900 after $350 MIR (AMEX GC) [corrected]
CORRECTIONS: the blog-post title price was incorrect, it is $2900, not $1000. The downside of reusing the previous post to prevent introducing new typos is that if you forget to edit it properly, it’s wrong… Also corrected my math in the blog-post text below, the price is $2900 after rebate, not $2950 after rebate (because $3250 – $350 = $2900)… Thanks to one of our readers for the email alert with all the error details…

For the risk takers out there, the eBay Deals have an imported lens at a big discount, with just a 30-day seller’s warranty. It is the new condition imported grey-market white-box Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM offered for $229 with free shipping with a limit of five per customer by eBay seller “Red Tag Camera” (99.9%). It ships from Brooklyn (NY) with over 600 units sold from this listing per the eBay data over there.
White box typically is when they take a lens out of a DSLR kit. Typically Lens + DSLR kits sell for less than buying them separately, and imported gear sell for less than authorized dealer gear. So there’s a double discount on this, the imported discount and the disassembling the kit discount.
Speaking of eBay, the Star Wars The Force Awakens BluRay + DVD + Digital set continues to sell for $17 with free shipping and free returns by Target’s eBay store. Over 11,500 units sold so far.
The Canon EOS C100 Mark II Cinema EOS Camera with the Dual Pixel CMOS functionality is now on sale for $4500 with free expedited shipping at B&H Photo. Please note this item is NOT returnable… For business customers, Canon offers a leasing program through Canon Financial, 0% on a 24 Month term or 2% on a 36 Month term. The PDF file over there has all the details… If you also need lenses with it, when you page down over there, you will see bundles with some common Canon lenses… If price-checking around, make sure you compare Dual Pixel and Mark II model prices…
