Canon T1i two-lens kit for $776, XSi two-lens kit for $643 (Saturday is last day)

According to the Canon promotions page, today, Saturday November 21st is the last day for the $200 OFF instant rebates for Canon DSLR two-lens combos. As of the time of writing you can get these prices:

+ T1i + 18-55mm kit and the 55-250mm EF-S = $976 - 200 = $776

+ D-Rebel XSi kit w/18-55mm and the EF-S 55-250mm lens = $839 - $200 = $639

The 55-250mm EF-S lens will ship in "4 to 7 weeks", however, this does not affect the price, since you lock the price the moment you place an order.

For more details and step-by-step instructions, be sure to check our previous update.

Canon D-Rebel T1i w/18-55 and 55-250mm EF-S for $784

The $200 instant rebate is at play here once again, for $784 you can get the Canon Digital Rebel T1i and the 18-55m and 55-250mm EF-S IS lenses. Simply add the T1i + 18-55mm kit and the 55-250mm EF-S lens to your shopping cart, and the price will automatically drop by $200 when you reach the Amazon Checkout page. The Checkout page is the page you get after the Shopping Cart page and before you place an order.

Please note that both items must be sold and shipped by Amazon in order for the $200 OFF instant rebate to take effect.

Also please note that the 55-250mm lens currently has a "4 to 7 weeks" shipping delay, however, you do lock in this price, since the rebate is instant, you do not have to mail anything back.

If you don't see the $200 OFF discount in your Checkout page, it means that the promotion expired, or you have the wrong items, or something else is wrong. Do not place an order unless you see the $200 off discount as seen below.

If you prefer the D-Rebel XSi, you can get the XSi two-lens kit for $655 using the $200 instant rebate promotion.

Canon D-Rebel XSi w/18-55mm and 55-250mm ships for $655

It looks like Canon and Amazon want you to join the Canon party because now you can get the Canon Digital Rebel XSi with the 18-55mm and 55-250mm lenses for just $655 with free shipping and handling. This is because of the $200 instant rebate that is currently in effect. To get this price, be sure to add the D-Rebel XSi kit w/18-55mm and the EF-S 55-250mm lens to your shopping cart. Once you reach the Amazon Checkout page, the price will drop by $200. Both items MUST be sold and shipped by Amazon.com. The 55-250mm lens won't ship right away, it has a "ships in 4 to 7 weeks" estimate, however, you do lock in this price. This is an instant rebate, so you don't have to mail anything in.

If you don't see this in your Amazon Checkout page, it means that there is something wrong (eg promotion expired, wrong items, etc). Do not place an order unless you see the discount in the Checkout page! It cannot be fixed later!

Canon T1i w/kit-lens for $729, two-lens kit for $784

If you are looking at the Canon Digital Rebel T1i/500D, this deal may be hard to pass up! For $784 you can get the Canon T1i with the 18-55mm and 55-250mm EF-S IS lenses. Not bad considering that a few weeks ago you couldn't even get the standard kit for $800. This deal is so because of a $200 instant rebate promotion at Amazon. This is an intermediate-level deal, so be sure to pay close attention if you are not a seasoned veteran of Amazon shopping. Here is what to do:

1. Empty your Amazon shopping cart (unless you want to buy whatever is there)
2. Add the T1i w/18-55mm EF-S IS kit (current price $729)
3. Visit the 55-250mm lens page. Do not add to cart yet. Check the page to see who the featured seller is. Currently it is not Amazon.com but "Ace Photo Digital". Take a deep breath. Look at the right side of the Amazon product page. Look for the box that says "More Buying Choices". In that box, look for the entry that says "Amazon.com". Click the add-to-cart yellow button. The current price is $255 and the lens has a "ships to 4 to 7 weeks" estimate.
4. Proceed to Checkout.
5. Your total is $729 + $255 - $200 = $784
6. If you want to get this, proceed to place your order.

A couple of things to note
The 55-250mm lens won't ship right away, but you can get this price regardless.

You must see the $200 discount in your Checkout page, otherwise you don't qualify for the discount.

I cannot stress this enough, BOTH items must be sold and shipped by Amazon.com, not by 3rd-party sellers.

This promotion ends on November 21st.

Canon G11 ships for $450

Stop the e-presses! The Canon G11 has dropped $50 from its opening price and you can get right now sold and shipped by Amazon.com, not third-party sellers, for $450 with free shipping and handling.

Canon T1i two-lens kit for $784 (18-55/55-250 EF-S IS)

If you can wait for a couple of weeks for delivery, the current price of the Canon T1i instant-rebate bundle is $784 at Amazon. The T1i w/18-55mm goes for $750 and the EF-S 55-250mm goes for $234. Take $200 off with the instant rebate, and the price drops to $784. Be sure to add both of them to your shopping cart, and both must be sold and shipped by Amazon, not by any of the many third-party sellers that do business there.

If Amazon is not the featured seller, you must seek Amazon as the seller in the right sidebar of the Amazon product page, under the "More Buying Choices" segment. Look for "Amazon.com" there. The discount only qualifies if _both_ items are sold and shipped by Amazon. If you don't see the discount in your checkout page as seen below, it means you are not doing it right or the instant rebate promotion has expired.

The lens currently "ships in 1 to 3 weeks". However, the discount is still good as you can see in this screenshot we just took from the Checkout page:

10% off DSLRs under $500 at NewEgg ($50 off DSLRs over $500)

Thanks to one of our readers for the tip! If you are a subscriber to the NewEgg.com email newsletter that went out earlier today, you will discover coupon code DSLR10B that gets you 10% off the current price of a DSLR, with a maximum $50 of savings. This promotion is good until November 20 "while funds last" (that is NewEgg-speak, we do not know what it means).

If we put on our math hats, $50 means 10% off with prices up to $500. If a DSLR costs $500 or more, the maximum discount you get is $50. So if you are buying a $1000 DSLR, your discount is $50. If you are buying a $2125 DSLR, your discount is $50.

Considering that most DSLRs cost over $500, the 10% off marketing-speak is a little gimmicky. A more accurate and practical description would be "$50 off DSLRs over $500" :)

ALSO: In the same newsletter, you will find the Canon G11 listed for $460 after the promotional coupon code listed there!
