A) get a 5% discount on your purchase, after all other coupons and discounts are applied. The 5% does not apply on shipping and taxes

OR

B) get a special financing zero-interest promotion for 6 or 12 months, depending on the order total amount. Minimum monthly payments are required. NOTE that full interest will be charged to your account if the amount is not fully paid within the promotional window.

As usual with credit and financing offers, be sure to check the terms, conditions, restrictions and plan ahead to make sure the offers work to your advantage and you don’t end up paying high interest rates.

Adorama 18-Month Financing Offer on 108 Canon and Sony Cameras and Lenses

Good until 12/18/23, Adorama through its Adorama Edge Credit Card (house card, not VISA/Mastercard), is having an 18-month Special Financing promotion on 106 Canon and Sony cameras and lenses listed at the aforelinked page.

No interest is charged if the whole amount is paid within 18 months. Minimum monthly payments are required. IF you do not pay it in full within 18 months, you will be charged with interest starting with the PURCHASE DATE. So be sure to plan accordingly to make sure you will be able to pay this in full within the 18 months.

As usual with financing promotions, be sure to check terms, conditions, restrictions, etc, etc, and as they say, use credit wisely!

The price range of the eligible items is $800 (Canon R50 Content Creator kit) to $13,000 (Canon RF 600mm f4L IS USM).

B&H Payboo Credit Card: Extra 5% to 10% off on Select Products

Payboo is a B&H Photo store credit card issued by Comenity Capital Bank. And until 11/28/23, B&H Photo has an extra savings promotion when paying with the PayBoo credit card. The savings are an extra 5% to 10% off. Maximum quantity of 2 per item for this promotion.

For more details, check the Paubpp card page

B&H Financing Offer: 0% interest on $1849+ for 24 months

If you are planning a big camera(s) or lens(es) purchase or any other purchases (in a single receipt) at B&H, B&H Photo is having a limited time special financing offer. For purchases of $1849 or more, you get 24 months of 0% interest.

You MUST pay the full amount before/by the end of the 24 months. If the amount is not fully paid, you will be charged interest from the purchase date. So do this only if you are certain you can pay it off on time. Minimum monthly payments are required. Another option gives you 24 equal monthly payments, so by the end you’ll have paid the full amount automagically.

There are plenty of FAQS over there that answer questions about the offer. It is not stackable with the PayBoo (B&H refund your sales tax) BUT you can split the payment of order between the two offers with 12-month (or shorter) financing. The amount paid with PayBoo will get the PayBoo benefit (sales tax refund) and the amount paid with the B&H financing promotion will get the financing 0% promotion. Orders with longer than 12-month financing cannot be split-paid.

As usual, use credit wisely and judiciously!

10% Back on select Sony Cameras and Lenses when paying with the B&H PayBoo card

The B&H PayBoo card is B&H’s online store credit card that has a special benefit. If you online-shop from a state that charges sales tax on online purchases, and you pay for the B&H purchase with the PayBoo store card, you get an instant discount/credit on the PayBoo card that is equal of the sales tax you would have paid. In other words, B&H pays the sales tax for you. You can check whether your state is eligible by clicking on the “Check Savings” links over there. It opens up, asks for your zipcode and tells you the percentage. Obviously if you live in a state without a sales tax, you won’t get anything discounted. The card is from Symphony Bank. It is only a store card that can be used at B&H, not a general-use VISA/Mastercard/etc…

And now to the actual deal running until August 25 in 2020. In addition to the aforementioned sales-tax credit, you will get an additional 10% back on your card with the purchase of select Sony Cameras and Lenses that you see listed over there. They include A-series full-frames, a-series APS-C cameras, f2.8 PRO zooms, bright primes and various other lenses and bundles…

Example
To keep the example simple, I am using round numbers and a fictional state. Let’s say you live in the great state of Denial, famous for its beautiful reflective lakes and its wholesome gentle and thrifty people, so they charge a 1% sales tax. You want to buy a Sony a6400 kit that costs $998. And you pay for your purchase in whole with the B&H PayBoo card.

You will be charged $998 [the camera price] plus 1% sales tax [$9.98] but the PayBoo card will automatically credit your account for $9.98, making your out of pocket $998. And because you are buying a camera participating in this Sony promotion, you will get a separate 10% credit [10% of $998 = $99.8] on your PayBoo B&H card…

I hope this example is actually not making things more confusing 🙂

B&H Credit Card No Interest Limited time promotion

If you are planning a bigger purchase or a system switch or a system upgrade or want to develop new photographic areas of interest that require investment in new lenses (sports, architecture, etc), and you are financially organized enough that you can pay the installments on time so you can avoid paying any interest…

… then you may be interested to hear that B&H Photo is running a special No Interest If Paid In Full financing promotion until 12/2/19. The duration of the promotion depends on the total order amount…

… purchases over $1599 get a 24-month no interest period, while purchases over $599 get 12 months and purchases over $199 get 6 months.

Minimum monthly payments are required. The total amount MUST BE paid in FULL before the 6/12/24 months are over ~ in order to avoid paying any interest at all.

IF they are not paid in full by then, you will be charged interest from the PURCHASE DATE, from the beginning. In other words, don’t do this promotion if you are not certain you can make the monthly installments. OF course no one can foresee the unforeseen, so use your own judgment as to whether to do this or not…

Just don’t buy ALL of the Zeiss lenses on sale. But if you do, send me a couple 😉

Amazon x AMEX: $30 off orders of $60+ with Rewards Redemption [YMMV/invited]

If you are an frequent amazon.com shopper, and you have an American Express credit card that is participating in Membership Rewards (the green ones with the points, the “Blue” with the cash rewards), then you may eligible for a new promotion that gets you up to $30 off with a purchase of $60+. This is by invitation, so you must be logged-on to your Amazon account to see if you qualify [see link at the bottom]

You may also notice the banner appearing at the top of Amazon.com pages while you are logged on to your Amazon account if you are eligible for the promotion. The picture below is a screenshot crop of one such banner:

To get this discount you must:

  1. activate the offer in your account [see link below]
  2. you must put a $60+ in eligible products in your shopping cart
  3. you must pay (at least partially) by redeeming AMEX Membership Rewards (the rest will be paid by the AMEX credit card that is linked to the rewards points)
  4. the discount will appear at the final checkout page, right before you push the “Place Order” button

You can find the activation button and all the terms and condition at the Promotional page. The offer runs until 12/31/19.

NOTE that you can redeem as few or as many AMEX Rewards Points for the redemption promotion. You have that option in the shopping cart. For example, let’s say you are buying a $99 lens. You can select to redeem only 1,000 AMEX Rewards points [even though your AMEX Membership Rewards account has more points available], and pay the rest with the AMEX credit card. (I don’t remember what happens to the order of payment if you have a Gift Card or any promotional credits already sitting in your account).

Amazon: 0% APR 12-month Equal Pay Offer on 500 Camera Items

Amazon has another financing promotion if you are planning to purchase select camera gear (plenty of DSLR and mirrorless options listed) and apply and get approved and pay for them with an Amazon Store Credit Card (not to be confused with the Amazon Chase VISA credit card). You pay 0% APR as long as you make 12 monthly equal payments. More details on the Promotion page.

As usual with credit offers, this makes sense if you are fairly certain you will be able to make the twelve payments on time, so you end up paying 0% APR.

PS: if you are a Prime member, when you apply, you could automatically be upgraded to a Prime Card which gets you 5% rewards back on purchases (see our previous post).
