The free after Easy Rebate photo paper specials ain’t walking through the deal door any time soon, but for the week of August 16-22 in 2015, Staples is planning to have three different photo paper specials, per their Weekly Ad for that week posted on their website. The first two offers are in-store only, while the last is good in-store and online:
+ 60pk 4×6 inch Staples brand glossy photo paper for $4
+ Buy One Get One on all available Kodak photo papers
+ 50% off HP 4×6 or 4×5 inch photo paper
+ no coupons, no rebates, just straight up sales
+ however you can use general purpose coupons or rewards or gift cards to pay for these
If you are physically near a Fry’s brick and mortar stores and if you are in their e-mailing list (or are willing to join so you can get your own promo codes), good until 8/1/15, they are offering the Vanguard ESPOD CX 203AGH pistol-grip tripod for $45 after promo code. The promo code that unlocks the offers in-store or online is inside the Fry’s emails. You can see this offer towards the middle of their weekly ad, on the rightmost spot in it row of deals.
PS: if you are not familiar with this development at Fry’s, these are not normal coupons, but they are unique codes for each email subscriber. The idea is to get people to sign up to their emailing list.
The Staples free after rebate promotions on photo paper appear to be long dead, but they continue to have straight up discount promotions. For the week of June 7-13 (2015), they advertise 50% off discounts on all Canon photo paper, and HP photo papers. Meanwhile, Epson photo papers have a “Buy One Get One Free” (B1G1) promotion. No coupons, no rebates, just straight forward discounts.
At Staples stores and website, during the March 1-7 in 2015 shopping week, they will have a Buy 1 Get 1 Free promotion on Epson photo papers. No coupons, no rebates, the discount will be automatically applied by the cash register. The B1G1 is on the same SKU, so you have to buy them Noah’s Ark style (in multiples of two).
PS: Staples no longer runs the free after rebate photo paper specials (HP, Kodak, Staples house brand) they used to run in previous years.
The back of the Mike’s Camera weekly circular ad found in today’s mega-thick newspapers loaded with Black Friday ads has a coupon for $20 off on any single item with an in-store purchase of $40 or more. Coupon expires 11/29/14. Limit one per customer, cannot be combined with other offers. Not good towards gift cards.
This limited time offer ended… At Rite Aid brick and mortar stores, for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, you can get a $6 Reward back when you purchase a $25 Google Play Gift Card. Limit two per customer during this promotional period. This is essentially a 24% off discount. Think along the lines of Android Camera and Photo apps (including the two Photoshop Touch versions) along with camera and photography e-books in Google Play Books… UPDATE: for iTunes fans, buy iTunes $30 multipack (three $10 gift cards), get $10 Walgreens gift card (effectively a 33% off discount) at Walgreens brick and mortar stores (expires Saturday night).
This limited time offer ended… This is a YMMV situation depending on your location. On Saturday November 29, the day after Black Friday, American Express is having once again its Shop Small (shop at local B&M Small Businesses) promotion. This year the promotion gives you up to three $10 statement credits when you make purchases of $10+ at eligible participating local small businesses. More details at ShopSmall.com (click “Find” to see if there any eligible local stores near you). You have to pre-register for this promotion, either from the promotional page or if you logon to your AMEX account, go to the Offers For You tab and find the Small Business Saturday promotion. (You need to have an American Express card to register and get the statement credits).
We updated the Black Friday Ad analysis mega-post at the main blog with a breakdown of the ads from Target, Sears and Walmart. The biggest discount perhaps is the Nikon Coolpix L330 compact-zoom (26x) offered for $100 at Target. They typically have one exclusive model number from Nikon they use as a doorbuster every year.
On Sunday November 12, the Adorama brick and mortar store is going to be having a big discount event. This is at their B&M store, not the website, so you need to be physically present in New York or have one of your minions there. The event is 4:30pm to 10pm New York time. Because prices will be lower than usual, they cannot announce prices and products ahead of time. The manufacturers participating in the event include Canon, Lexar, Profoto, Sandisk, Manfrotto, Adorama’s house brands, and more. You must needs RSVP for the event. Did I mention food and open bar? 😉 I mean, there will be tech demos and galleries and giveaways 🙂
In recent weeks, Fry’s is trying a new digital-analog strategy to get people to shop at their stores. People subscribed to their email newsletters are receiving unique (personal) promo codes by email. They can use those promo codes at the Fry’s brick and mortar stores to purchase select items at a discount. They can only be used in-store, not at their website. The email that just came out today, a weekend 4-day sale, includes the following items of Camera and Photo interest:

+ 100pk 4×6 inch Canon photo paper for $5 (limit 2)
+ Fuji JX500P pink P&S camera for $50
+ pay $20, get $25 iTunes Gift Card (limit 2; 25% discount)

For the shopping week of November 2-8 in 2014, at Office Depot and Office Max brick and mortar stores, they are running a “Buy One, Get One Free” (mix and match) promotion on Kodak Photo paper. Prices range from $12 to $40. Availability may vary from store to store. How good/bad this deal is depends on the actual prices of the photo paper which are not mentioned in the ad, so it is a YMMV… The promotion is in their weekly ad for their brick and mortar stores. I don’t know if it will also be available on their websites as well…
This is a YMMV promotion. On Saturday November 8 in 2014, between 1pm and 4pm local time, select Best Buy brick and mortar stores are going to be having a Special Holiday Shopping Events. They will have special promotions on select products along with demos and “experts” and such. They have a menu over there that you can use to find out which stores are participating in this. I have no way of knowing what is going to be offered, so it’s a curiosity-YMMV.
If you are signed up for the Fry’s Electronics email newsletter, their latest newsletter that comes with the “personal promo codes” includes the full version of Lightroom 5 for $100 after using the promo code in-store.
